I read that too Oma, poor Glamma
            Is your back any easier?

Thank you WG, 'see' you after Christmas.

It's very busy for you Daisy hosting at Christmas. I know it's lovely to have family there, but try not to overdo it!

Panto was fun and we all enjoyed it, and our meal too. Lovely to see the GC together and GD relaxed and happy Poor GS1 has a cold but he battled on!
I didn't get the cake iced. Maybe this evening but more likely in the morning!

Poor Glamm she is certainly having a hard time at the moment. Hope she starts to improve soon.

              Oma how is your back

OH is full of cold at the moment and he has a horrible cough.

Our grocery order went well . It did actually have 5 substitutions but they were like for like so there wasn't any need to refuse them .
Also the hew vacuum cleaner was delivered just 5 minutes before the Tesco delivery arrived.

We still haven't managed to get to the cemetery all place christmas trees on the family graves what with very windy weather and the both of us feeling unwell we've been unable to get there
I don't think OH will be feeling well enough tomorrow and my hip is giving me jip so we may well have to go after Christmas.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

                Happy Christmas eve.

Oma, hope b enjoys his quality street.

I've just got a few last minute jobs to do.

                Dinner will be something fishy.

Good morning and merry Christmas Eve to everyone!

Nan2, thank you for your lovely daily graphics which brighten our day all through the year

Mimi when we went to the cemetery a lot of pretty things were blown about by the winds. I tried to replace some but often couldn't tell where they had come from. You can only do what you can, take care xx

This morning we are going to OH's brother's , to meet up with her niece and family who are here for Christmas. We rarely see her family, but this niece lets us know when she will be up from London and we meet up.

This afternoon GS2 is coming to us. We missed our normal pre Christmas times together this year, due to several things clashing with our usual December Fridays! So, we shall be gingerbread house constructing (good old Lakeland provide the components every year) He loves my Jacquie Lawson advent calendar and has a lot of catching up to do on there.

                    Good Christmas Eve morning, everyone.

Sorry I didn't make it back to this thread last night, but I have caught up with reading posts. It seems as though there were queues everywhere yesterday, so perhaps today will be quieter. Unless we've forgotten something vital, we'll keep away from the shops today. I alway love that moment when you look round and think "that's it, all the shopping done!"

Poor Glamm. I'm sorry to hear she's back in hospital. It's an anxious time for her family, and I do hope she gets better soon.

Oma, I hope you've thawed out after your long wait yesterday.

Wee Granny, many thanks for the lovely graphic. Have a lovely time with your DD and family.

Nanto, 'something fishy' sounds. ...... fishy! I'm sure it will be delicious. x. Thank you for the spectacular tree graphic.

Mimi, how did you contain your excitement - your new vacuum cleaner followed so quickly by your Tesco order with 'good' substitutions. I do hope you OH feels better soon. There are such horrible bugs around and those lingering coughs keep you awake at night. Is it the wet weather that makes your hip worse? I wouldn't struggle to take the Christmas trees while you are both under the weather - your loved ones wouldn't want you to do that, I'm sure. What about taking them for the New Year - a beautiful way to start 2024, and hopefully you will both be feeling better. xx

Plant, what a busy time you and your family will have. Hopefully your DD and SIL get plenty of help in the kitchen, especially with the clearing up. I can just picture little H organising you all to dance, and no opting for a sneaky sit down either. She's such a cutie.

Gem, no wonder you didn't get the cake iced, but I'm sure it will get done today. Glad you all enjoyed the panto - I'd love to hear all about it. Another busy day for you, but lovely for S to meet up with some of her family this morning. Enjoy the construction work this afternoon.

We enjoyed out walk in the paddock yesterday. It was quite mild and we even had some sunshine. Eva, of course, was racing round like a puppy on speed! She slept the rest of the day! It was nice to see our friends as well. Sorry to say this, Gem, but I did decorate the cake yesterday, but I can't claim any glory because I didn't get other things done. I've finished off making a cottage pie this morning, and am just going to make some bread and make a second meal for tonight. We've just got to make up the beds for the GSs and run the sucky up thing round. I've rashly promised to make flapjacks and banana bread.

Have a good day everyone, and I hope those feeling poorly are resting and recovering. My thoughts are especially with Glamm. xx

                      Mimi
You will be a Giddy aunt all that excitement in one day 😁
I Agee with Daisy don’t worry about going to the cemetery you can as Daisy said go new year when both of you may feel a little better,
Besides they will only blow away in this wind xx

                      Lizzie
Have you decided what to cook yet ?

                      Plant
Hows it going next door is everyone home now ?

Well I was up early and did my usual clean about had a shower and then put two lots of washing on ,
A dark load and then the usual towel pile.

When I got up during the night I went into the bathroom and it smelt a bit musty ,
It was coming from the wet room central drain ,
After we had our showers I unscrewed it all and gave it a good clean , it looks like stale water had collected in the drain cup as it had a brown water line around it ,
I managed to get a long bendy thin bottle brush I have down the pipe just incase anything was preventing the water draining .
Its all clean and smelling nice now but my hips and back are killing sitting in the floor
I’m getting too old and rickety for this malarkey , didn’t help my back hurting yesterday.

B has put the Rib eye in to roast for tomorrow and we will make the dessert’s together later.

Good morning everyone, dull, wet and windy here!

I have been to the gym, I went yesterday afternoon as well, but, the music? was far too loud, I didn't want to be the one to complain. I can move far better then I can stand, I will tell the lady this week that I can't do those meals, meetings etc in the future. My physio said that with me having the knee and foot problem I do not use the muscles like I should when walking, that is why they protest now and again. He did mention a knee replacement. He did the echo etc and couldn't see any problems. I have an appointment in a few weeks.

Oma, resting is no good to me with my legs, I must be on the move, a day of resting and I pay for it!

All you busy people, I have some blinis to put smoked salmon and crème fresh on tomorrow morning and an overnight salad to put together later today. I think it will be a quiet day here, the lull before the storm. A quiet weather day, no wind, no rain.

I am so sorry to learn Glamm is back in hospital, presumably her chest is bad again.

Oma, not having a sense of smell I wouldn’t have detected your shower draining problem. Do you and B share the kitchen when you are cooking?

Daisy, so much cooking, you are a wonder woman in the kitchen. I can imagine Eva rushing around the paddock.

Lizzie, you are wise to give up jobs that are not good for your legs. You seem to get a lot of care and advice about you problem.

                              Morning all.
Everyone seems to be very organised!
We are in charge of all meat. OH has been to the butcher to collect it. I walked the dog, we went to the beach. There we came across a family fishing. As I passed, I realised I knew them. It was great to catch up and what was wierd, was when I explained how we came to have another Collie, not only did friend know the previous owner, she had been with her to collect Bess as a pup! Honestly, this dog knows more people than I do!!
Last week I found 8 large candles, unused, washed up on the tide. I will melt them down and make more when I get 2 minutes to rub together.
We received a card yesterday from Peter, Carol, Matthew and Claire! Neither of us knows these people! They used our names and signed with a kiss!
                              A mystery.
In case I don’t come here tomorrow, I wish you all a very happy Christmas! 🧑🏻‍🎄

Did I say not much happening today. I have just been next door to put some presents under the tree and it is a hive of activity. All the veg being done, the vegetarians are making their Christmas dinner.
Barrel of beer (just a small one) from the local brewery has been tapped. Peace and quiet in here.
