GD and H have moved in until after Christmas, her OH coming later. GD and I are going to JL this morning, she needs a few bits. We must be mad, why did I say yes. I think the house will start filling up later. I will pop back later as I must get dressed ready to go out.

      Morning ladies

      Mimi
What a day but your house sounds like mine , a simple job is never simple πŸ™„
Fingers crossed a less eventful day ahead ,
I bet the milk man was thrilled you thought of him I hope he enjoys his chocolates and has a lovely Christmas 😁

      Plant
Good luck in JL hope you get parked ok it will be busy no doubt , are you taking H or is she staying with your DD?

      Daisy
Good idea with the air fryer anything to ease the load ,
Poor Eva not liking the wind , Storm is the same ithink it’s the blowing in the ears they don’t like .

      Nanto
I would be like a beach ball if I lived near you , you seem to make all the things I like 😁

      Gem
I could have chatted too a sleepless night for me , what with my knee hurting and restless legs πŸ™„
It’s bright but windy here , I expected some pots to be over this morning but they were fine ,
Can you tie your reindeer down ? Last thing you want is it flying off to join Rudolph 😁

Went to Aldi for them opening I forgot two things , it was bursting at the seams at 8am,
typical the one time I would have used the self checkouts they were all blocked off , not sure if they were broke or just didn’t have a staff member to man them as all the checkouts were on ,

A kind lady in front with a huge trolly full let us cut in so we only waited about 10 minutes,

Got home and our Neighbour was getting out of his car all his back end bashed in , bumper lights etc .
Someone in Sainsburys car park had reversed into his parked car ,
He has a little Skoda same as GSs and a big SUV had hit it . Not what you need at Christmas but at least no one hurt..

Just back from J Lewis, not too busy, restaurant was not as busy as usual. Frustrated parents with young children, we left H at home.

Oma, your poor neighbour, not what you need just before Christmas.

Gem, so sorry to hear your knee was giving you a problem to sleep.

Daisy, you must be busy organising the food for a family Christmas, don’t try to be a Wonder Woman and take some time out.

Mimi how lovely to hear from you. That was some saga with the washing line spike. My spike has disappeared into the lawn never to be seen again.

          Been a busy productive day.
Mince pies and coconut tarts made.
          A few other jobs done.

We sold a vacuum cleaner part on ebay last week.
Customer said it didn't work, but hubby knew otherwise.
We told her to send it back for a full refund.
It was delivered this morning, and its obvious she hasn't sent our item back.
Hubby only had to check hers with our photos. Hers has got some stickers on,ours hasn't.
Hers is dirty, ours was clean. So going to get that sorted this evening.

I had something similar years ago when I was selling my collection of Tusker Elephants ,
A lady said it arrived broken with a bit missing we knew it hadn’t because we photographed each item in it’s original box before posting
Best part was she said I will keep it and you can refund half the money.

We refused and offered to send the photograph and take it up with eBay , she never replied . Just trying her luck I think .

GD2 partner has arrived from Yorkshire having recovered from Covid. GD1’s OH is arriving soon, he is icing the Christmas cake. H has had us all dancing, quiet now they have all gone back next door.

Oma, you do get some trying it on with ebay, but she hasn't got a leg to stand on if you look at the photos.
We sent her a message earlier,as of yet we haven't heard back from her.

Plant, your family certainly keep you on your toes. I hope you relaxed for a while after today's visitors went next door. Is H very excited about Christmas? You were brave going shopping, and so were you, Oma.

Nanto, what a cheek that eBay customer sending you a different item back. Like Plant, I've never sold anything on eBay but OH uses it quite a lot, but he's only ever had a couple of rogue customers like the one Oma had. Some people put a lot of effort into being dishonest.

Gem, we've got a thread somewhere for those sleepless nights, haven't we. Mind you I hope everybody gets their 8 hours tonight and won't need it. I hope you got your odds and ends of jobs done, and had a quiet and reflective time at your Mum and Dad's grave.

I've also done the marzipan on the cake today. I got up to date with some paper work and (roll of drums, please) cut the lawn. After it being literally underwater it has dried out dramatically in the wind and I was able to give it a light cut. This is the 'after' shot - the lawn is a law unto itself, full of weeds, and lots of burn marks curtesy of Eva! But I'm happy it's not quite as long as it was. . I'm just waiting for our Sainsburys delivery - it looks like it's going to be late.

I hope everyone sleeps better tonight. If not there are medicinal cognacs in the Granny's Rest, free and guaranteed no hangover. xx

Good morning everyone, I have had a busy few days, I helped at the centre yesterday, but, I will tell them I can't do it again, too much standing still for me, my leg was so painful when I got home, after 5 hours of helping, that I cried! I took painkillers and put my night stockings on and went to bed, it still hurts but seeing a physio at 8am, I don't think he will be able to help though.

You have all been busy shopping etc, I need to go and get a few things this morning then decide what I am going to cook!

We had the last meeting on Thursday at the housing cooperation, they are putting plans on hold and see what happens. Annoying! We got a selection box of Clipper tea's for our help.

                      Good morning everyone.

Lizzie, oh dear, I'm sorry you were in so much pain. That was too much standing for you. I hope the physio helps.

Daisy, getting your lawn cut is impressive!

It's all go at your house Plant

Nan2 and Oma, it's awful that some buyers will try to con sellers.

Well today is panto day. Oh yes it is! Me, DDs 1, 2 and the three oldest GC. Performance at 2 and we are booked for an early tea at Prezzo near the theatre afterwards. I am going with DD and GS1, so no driving or asking OH to drop me off.

I will ice the Christmas cake this morning.

                        Good morning,still windy here.

DS1 just popped in on his way to work. Brought us a lovely Christmassy bunch of flowers.
He didn't stay long, someone at work is doing BLT sandwiches for breakfast.

Gem, enjoy the panto,Oh yes you will.

Daisy, well done for getting the grass cut.

Just a few jobs for me today.

Dinner is gammon, rosti potato, baby sweetcorn and pineapple.

                          Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Gem, Enjoy the panto and don't forget to look behind you! What is the panto this year? An added bonus, not having to drive. x

Lizzie, poor you having so much pain in your leg. I hope the physio has been able to help a bit. Have an easy day today and cook something where you don't have to stand over it. How annoying about the housing corporation delaying like that. Enjoy the tea.

Nanto, how thoughtful of your DS1 bringing you flowers, but you can't keep a good BLT sandwich waiting. I bet he enjoyed it.

Like Gem, I need to ice the cake today - a quick job with roll out icing. I also want to make a cottage pie for tomorrow night, and I might do a chicken curry as well - I forget how much two young men (our GSs) eat! DS1 and family are coming down earlyish tomorrow so I'll get as much done as I can today. But first, we're taking Eva to the paddock and we'll drop off a card and bottle of wine to the friends who so kindly let us use it. Then OH has to go to DS2's to collect the tables we lent them for the craft fair - we'll need an extra table for Christmas dinner! I'll come straight back from the walk and get on with the cooking.

Daisy, I used to enjoy getting the food ready for Christmas Day but although I like to do a bit, I leave it to others now. I am sure Eva will enjoy her run in the paddock.

Gemini, enjoy the panto with the family.

Lizzie, you are such a willing person to help where you can, you will have to say no occasionally.

Nanto, Lovely to receive flowers. I bet that breakfast was calling.

All quiet next door, we are all here now, GD2’s partner arrived yesterday, we have GS2 and his wife arriving on Christmas Day. We have more arriving just for Christmas morning. H was on good form yesterday and at one point had us all dancing, there is a video but I will not bore you with it. If you try and sit it out, she gets you by the hand. GS1 and his family are with the other Gparents Christmas Day this year but will pop in here in the morning for present opening. How my DD and Sil get the dinner cooked is a miracle.

We went to the farm shop to collect the Christmas meat ,
The car park and road leading to it was full to bursting,
So B stayed in the car and I went in ,
                                My god the queues 😱
Im not kidding there was at least 100 people snaking around the farm and more joining ,
Took me 40 minutes to get to the front by then I was freezing and my back was breaking .
Talking to one of the staff who was keeping the line going he said people were in the car park from 7 am and it would be like that till closing .

I’m not sitting with a blanket over me and my heat pack on my back .
