    Morning Nanto/ ladies
Well we had a lot of snow before now we have even more ,

GS came yesterday he has to go back to Leeds today , we hope if he leaves it till late afternoon the main roads will be clear at least .

    Daisy
My Cyclamen have been covered with snow twice , they are older plants so I’m hoping they will be ok .
Well done J unblocking the drains , our sink is being slow to drain at the minute .

    Nanto
Its sometimes best to stick to the butcher you know but always worth trying the new garden centre one once ,
You never know they may be good.

Hope everyone is well today , lots of cold going around here,
My brothers lot all 6 families have had it within the last two weeks .
It was Archie’s 4th birthday party yesterday and only one niece could go all the others stayed away to avoid spreading germs .

Nothing planned it’s too cold so will get on with jobs around the house .

      Good morning everyone.

Snow here overnight too Nan2. Looks very pretty but is already melting on roads and paths.

Daisy, thank goodness the sink is finally clearing! Poor little plants in the cold.

Safe journey to your GS Oma. My DDs 2 and 3 are both travelling back from separate weekends away today.

GS2 , OH and I are having our breakfast in a minute. GD will have hers when she gets up, being a teenager
We will all to over to their house around midday as GD needs to be at her friends house for a birthday celebration at 1. We will spend the rest of the day there with GS until his mum and dad get back.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. It's sounding very wintery with all that snow. Stay safe everyone.

Nanto, I hope the crowds at the garden centre just made it fun rather than hectic. I like to keep a beef joint in the freezer and a nice large chicken - just in case! Like you, we get unexpected visitors.

Oma, hard to believe Archie is 4 already! It doesn't seem 5 minutes since we were all celebrating his arrival. There are lots of colds around, but it's "that" time of year, isn't it. Safe journey back to GS later today. Hopefully the main roads will be ok. Has he had a driving lesson on a skid pan? At least you get plenty of bad weather driving practice further north. We find young drivers sometimes have no idea how to drive in floods or snow and ice and they don't get much practice with our milder weather.

Gem, was GS2 excited to see snow this morning? GD's social life sounds busy (which is great!) and at that age, they do need their sleep, don't they.

Jobs round the house for us today - so far, so good with the sink and dishwasher.

It's much warmer today, but raining.

Hes a very careful good driver not a boy racer at all , we are pleased about that .

          Gem
Nice to have breakfast with GS , as Daisy said teenagers need extra sleep 😁

Did a clean through yesterday so just a tidy up this morning .

B is busy making Bread it smells lovely .

I forgot to say yesterday that I was going to a 30th party for my GD1, her birthday is today. Her sister and her mother booked a local hall and invited as many of the family that could come. Lovely clean warm hall and lot of food. H loved playing, well running around, with her cousins. It was a lovely turn out in spite of the foggy cold weather. They don’t seem to celebrate 21 these days. It was lovely to see most of my GC and GGC together.

Gemini, nice to spend some time with your GC. I don’t remember ever being a teenager but I did like my bed. I hope GD has an enjoyable time at the party.

Daisy, pleased your sink is now flowing and the kitchen floor is sparkling clean. those cyclamen look good, they are quite hardy really, I only grow them in pots. I am going to try the heat treatment today. I do have a physio GS here atm, they came for the party.

Oma, it must be lovely to see Storm rolling in the snow. Safe journey for your GS, I am sure B has taught him well.

Daisy, GS2 was excited to see the snow.
Even more so when DD and GS1 came round and the boys played in the ( very sparse!) snow for a while. GD even joined them for a bit 😊

Oma my SIL2 is an Advanced Driver too. Good to know GS drives safely.

That sounds a lovely family get together Plant

Hallo everyone, it is still very cold, showers forecast for this evening, then, getting warmer!

DS1 had just been, he brought me a box of handmade chocolates from the young friend of GD2, I shortened her jeans , I told GD2 I didn't want anything, but, she thought different!

We sat watching You Tube together whilst drinking coffee, I had said that they could all eat here on Boxing Day, he asked if I minded if they didn't come???? Not in the least!!!! They are going to Hamburg for a few days after Christmas, I am going there for a meal on Christmas day. I will ask DS2 if they still want to come, otherwise, another time.

I will have a walk to the shops, we are doing a present game on Tuesday evening for December 5th so I need a few small presents, I may even go to TK Maxx on Tuesday morning.

Plant, what a lovely get together.

Lizzie, lovely to get the handmade chocolates.

After dinner we had a walk round the estate,to deliver some handmade cards.
Last port of call was nephews. His mum(my ex sis in law) and her husband were there.
It was nice to see ex sis in law, first time we have met her husband.
We stayed for about an hour and had a cuppa.

I don't think its been as cold today,as the last 3 days have been.

Oma, what a relief that your GS1 is a careful driver, and I'm sure he's been well taught by B. I think it's such a worrying time for families when their teenagers (especially boys) get their driving licences. My GS1 loves his car and seems to make sure he drives within the speed limits. He wouldn't want to chance damaging it, and that is a good rein on any testosterone-driven madness. I hope. GS2 drives because he has to, and I haven't driven with him yet, but I think he's quite cautious. You just hope and pray they don't take silly risks.

How lovely for Storm to have a chance to enjoy the snow. I bet he slept when he got home.

Plant, very happy 30th birthday to your GD1 today. I hope she is having a great week-end - just what she needs to unwind after their house move. I hope your GS can help ease the pain for you.

Only half the kitchen floor is sparkling clean. The other half is on the To Do list!

Gem, lovely for the two boys to spend some time together - and great that GD joined in for a while. I think she's at a lovely age - mostly grown-up or teenagerish, but you still get glimpses of the little girl in her.

Lizzie, we're due to get warmer weather about mid-week, although it's been 9C today. The wind was cold though. How sweet of GD2's friend to send you such lovely chocolates. I bet she appreciated you shortening her jeans for her. I think it's nice to be flexible about Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and as you say, you can always see them together another day when things are quieter. And you get to celebrate 5th December as well.

Nanto - our posts crossed. How nice to see your ex-SIL and to meet her husband. What did you think of him?

I've done quite well today - several loads of washing, including the bedding, some Christmas cards written and Eva walked.

I forgot to tell you something that happened yesterday. When I came back from shopping just after lunch, I opened the garage door to garage the car and my friendly robin flew into the garage then came indoors before I could shut the door. I managed to shut all the doors but not after he /she had left me a few little messages and steered it to the back door and let it out. I think it knew I had just purchased some wire worms for them.

Really lovely family party. Aunts, , uncles, cousins etc etc were there, hadn’t seen some for a time and they have shot up. GD1 actual birthday is tomorrow so no doubt we shall see her. Her OH was running a Santa fun run today. GD2, her partner and GS2 and his wife have gone back to London now. GS2, the Physio, said I have to keep moving and not sit for too long just the opposite to what I have been doing.

Plant that robin wants to be your pet

Lizzie the chocolates were a lovely gesture.

Nan2 it has certainly warmed up here somewhat. Ice on the steps up to DD's front door when we arrived around 1.30, all melted when we left at around 4.

That was a productive day Daisy.

Yesterday while 'hanging out' with GS2 I was able to wrap the Christmas presents for the friends who are coming tomorrow, and address the cards for posting.
Today I posted some of them, I need more stamps before I can post the rest.

You had to move a dozen things,to get what you wanted.
Things like slotted spoons, potato masher and other utensils.
I haven't got two of everything i've got four of several items.
Some have been relegated to a cupboard.

Plant, that robin knew you meant him no harm.
