How disappointing when lunch isn’t up to scratch , hopefully it will be better when the alterations are done and they are back to normal service.
Storm loves the snow , DD can’t get him in the house when it snows he wallows in it 😁

Have you twisted your back in your sleep maybe ?
Try not to over stretch it today see if it settles down .
How nice to be seeing the lights , something to look forward to😁

I have sat and wrote all my Christmas cards out ,
I will post some when we can get out the rest I will hand deliver ,
I still have a box of cards because you can guarantee there will be people I have forgotten.
Every year we get a card and I will have forgotten to send them one .

I need to get Bs Aunties card , I usually send it on 1st December but his cousin is coming over , well that’s the plan so far but she’s been a bit vague about it at the moment ,
I will give it another week if she hasn’t made up her mind by then I will just post the card .

Sun is out but snow isn’t melting any .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

The heating guy hadn't finished by the time I had to leave for school, so we didn't get to M &S!

It was very misty on my drive out here, but no longer icy. 1 degree in temperature.
Im here a bit early, in the car before I face the artic zone which is GS2's school playground!
Armed with duvet coat, wooly hat, gloves and scarf, I should be fine

Bitterly cold day here, but I think it's even colder in Scotland. I shall be wearing lots of layers on my journey tomorrow especially as I'm only taking a carry on case and half of that is full of presents for new baby.
Put out our toppers this morning ( will post pictures later) and popped into town for some decent boots. Tonight I'm off to make my Christmas wreath. The class is in DD's village so we shall park at her house and the three of us can walk along to the studio.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts yesterday. Strange thing though, DD has an orchid which never bloomed, but shortly after OH died it burst into flower. The same thing this year, full of flowers! And I found a white feather on my table! Where had that come from? Nothing around the table with a feather filling!!
Have a good evening ladies and keep warm x
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

WG, I will have a look for the toppers when I am over that way. All you need is the visiting robin. I find them a real comfort. Wrap up warm for your trip to Scotland for your baby cuddles.

WeeGranny, I hope you enjoyed making your Christmas wreath. I seem to remember you making a wreath a couple of years ago which was beautiful. I hope you can post a photo of this year's.

Safe journey up to Scotland tomorrow. I hope you don't get any delays with the weather. When I helped my GDs with their craft stall last week I wore two pairs of trousers (one fleecy-lined) and 5 layers - t-shirt, polo neck jumper, v-neck jumper, thick fleece and coat, and I didn't actually get cold, despite artic temperatures and constant rain.

Gem, I hope your heating is all ok - you definitely need it this weather.

Plant, I hope your back is ok. Have you tried a heated pad or hot water bottle to see if that will ease it?

Oma, well done on getting your cards done.

I didn't get as much done as I hoped, but I made a large saucepan full of root vegetable soup at lunch time, portioned up a load of food for Eva, and a few other jobs before we went out for walkies. I think it was cold even for Eva - she had the option to go on two much longer walks, but she showed no interest and was quite happy to just go round the block. I should have put her fleece on her, but although it was cold it was dry and I thought she'd be ok.

Morning everyone. I hope you are all able to keep warm. Really heavy frost here. Had a lovely day yesterday with people popping in nothing like human cuddles and hugs. Today eldest and family coming over to set up some new speakers for OH Hi-fi, the grandparents tree arrived yesterday and is a bit smaller than I had anticipated!!!! Might have to stand it on bricks to look bigger, Hey,ho. So I will be fiddling about with that, with no doubt help from our 6 year old GD. xx

Good morning. Very keen frost here again.

WG, have a safe journey to Scotland.

Daisy, sorry forgot to say what a shame some of your friends meals weren't very good.

This morning we off to the farm shop, then on to the garden centre.
We will eat at the garden centre.

Good morning Jane and everyone else.

                  Misty here

WG the flowering plant and white feather made me smile xx Safe journey today.

                  Plant how is your back?

Daisy, you and Eva keep warm!

GD and GS2 will be here around 1 until tomorrow afternoon. DD and SIL have a flying visit down to St Alban's for a birthday.
We need both spare bedrooms when they come which means moving a lot of stuff around, especially at this time of year!
Fish and chips for us all tonight.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. It's frosty and foggy here - not nice at all.

Gem, you're going to be busy with GD and GS2 staying overnight. I'm sure their parents will enjoy their trip south for a party though, and I guess both GCs will be spoiled rotten. Fish and chips sounds good - popular all round and no cooking.

Nanto, what a pretty graphic, even though it's icy. Enjoy your shopping and a meal at the garden centre. Will it be very busy at this time of year?

Jane, there's nothing like having visitors to lift the spirits and as you say, lots of hugs. I'm sure your OH will be delighted to have his new speakers up and running. Are they a Christmas present? I'm sure the tree will look fine, and after all, it's the thought behind it and the messages which are important.

No plans for us today, but lots to do, so I'd better get on.

                      Gem, enjoy having your visitors!

Nanto, enjoy the shopping and the meal. The garden centres are very busy here with the Christmas displays.

I have ordered myself a pair of wollen slippers, I must be getting old!!

                        Morning everyone
We all seem very busy today , visitors trips out etc ,😁

We still have snow the side roads are lethal no gritters out for them.

Yesterday I phoned the Drs for appointment ,
I have had a nagging pain in the side of my calf from my knee to Ankle for over a week ,
Strangely it’s ok walking it’s when I sit or lay down in bed it throbs like toothache.

Anyway they offered me a appointment in our primary care for 7.30 last night
No one in it was empty seen a lovely Indian Dr so nice he was ,
He thinks it’s deep tissue inflammation like arthritis so sent a prescription for anti inflammatory tablets through the Cloud so I could go to any chemist with my NHS number to pick them up .

Went to Boots this morning nothing on the system
So I had to go back to the primary care ,( luckily it’s all very close )
They looked and it appeared when he had written it all up the computers crashed so it hadn’t gone through.
Sorted it and now I can go back to chemist .

Nothing is straight forwards is it 🙄

Well, we feel like Oma and B here
Up and out early to M&S , back and got two bedrooms ready for GC and stowed away Christmas presents which are normally in one for the rooms, cleaned bathroom and downstairs loo. All before 12. Go us!

Take care walking in the frost Lizzie. It was very frosty and minus 3 when we were out.

Oh Oma that sounds painful. Wise to get that checked out. Nothing is straightforward indeed! I hope the medication helps. You could try both ice and warmth too, to see if either relieve it.

We had a good day out. Cold, but dry and sunny.
Bought a couple of joints at the farm shop.
Got quite a bit of stuff from the garden centre.
Christmas cards were ½ price,so i bought two boxes for next year.Should have been £6 a box.

Nanto, I had to smile - only you could find next year's Christmas cards on 2 December! Well done. Was the garden centre very busy? What kind of joints did you get?

Gem, what a busy bee you were this morning. I hope it hasn't been so hectic with GD and GS2 there.

Oma, that sounds very painful - thank goodness you eventually got the prescription sorted out.

Lizzie, did you stay in, out of the cold. Woollen slippers sound very comforting for chilly toes on a freezing day.

Jane, how are the Hi-fi speakers? Is M pleased with them?

My BIG news of the day is .... (drum roll, please) ... our sink is finally free and working again. After a week without it I'm very pleased to have it back in operation. OH had gone to a plumber's merchants yesterday and got a sort of suction pump. You fill the pipes and sink with water and then put this pump thingy over the sink plug hole and pump it up and down. After a few minutes the water was running freely. There's a tiny dribble of a leak under the sink, but I think OH hasn't tightened a joint up enough. We're keeping fingers crossed that the dishwasher pumps out ok. Next job - cleaning the other half of the kitchen floor.

I caught up with most of the washing as well, although it was far too cold to hang it out. I also planted the cyclamen and violas I got the other day. It was freezing cold and the little roots on the plants were frozen solid. I hope they survive.

Good morning,we have had snow during the night.

Daisy,so pleased the sink is now emptying.
The garden centre was very busy, never seen it as full.
We bought 2 large joints of beef from the farm shop.
I also had a look at the new butchers in the garden centre, but i didn't get anything.
Decided to wait until we are in town next week, and go to our regular butcher.
Hope the cyclamen survive, they are pretty flowers.

Dinner is chips, beans and cold beef. The meat is from friday's dinner.
