Clover, how lovely to see the calves in your cul-de-sac, I am afraid of cows in a field, they always seem to make for me. Very frightened once when we had a dog with us. How nice you have some company, as you say someone to discuss things with.

Gemini, I am trying to listen to my body, this afternoon I have made some crumbles with the help of Auntie Bessie.

Glamm, my vertical blinds are plastic but look like material. I will just clean them in situ next time, they are only slightly dusty I would think.

I've left it rather late to get back for a chat! Everyone seems very busy today.

Plant, we didn't have rain forecast but there were a lot of black clouds gathering when I posted. Thankfully, they soon blew away and Eva and I stayed dry. She hadn't had a walk for two days. Friday was our local Drift (where all the ponies are rounded up, health checked, wormed and tails cut to show they've been 'done' and the owners' dues paid). It's like the wild west - best to keep Eva out of harm's way. Take care - don't overdo things until. you feel stronger.

Clover, we have cows too - including Highland Cattle with huge horns - and at the moment the pigs are out as well! The cattle are very gentle, though and just ignore people. Do the cows come in to your cul de sac to have a munch on the hedges and any plants they can reach? How lovely having DS1 for the week-end. I'm sure you have both enjoyed it. xx. What to the golfers say about cows on the golf course?

Glamm, good luck with cleaning your horizontal blinds. It sounds a very time-consuming and fiddly job. Your DD is so thoughtful, making sure you're ok while she is away. They look as though they are having a lovely time.

Gem, recovering from any operation is hard work. Well done on going round the garden today. I'm sure the swelling in your leg will go down more quickly as soon as you can have some reflexology.

Oma, I bet your GS1's ears were burning with both sets of proud grand parents having a chat! How is he feeling now - hopefully too busy and having too much fun to be homesick.

Nanto, I'm so curious to know what your OH is up to. Pity the car boot sale was cancelled (or maybe a blessing? )

I've had a busy day. I was out for about an hour with Eva then I got on with making the house fit for visitors. I've only got the bathroom and cloakroom to do tomorrow morning, then I'll start prepping a couple of meals to stick in the freezer for later in the week. I wish I enjoyed housework because everywhere looks so much better today!

Looking a bit dull. Hope it keeps fine.

Hubby is fencing off part of the garden and putting a gate up. I'll take photos as the work progresses, it will be easier than trying to explain.

Clover, I would love it if I saw cows in our street.

Gem,you seem to be doing well with the exercises.

An easy dinner today, mash, cooked beef I took out of the freezer yesterday, veg and gravy.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good Monday morning, everyone. It's dull and drizzly here. Doesn't look good for the washing getting dried today.

Oma, I don't know how I missed that photo of Finley last night. He's growing up so quickly - and what a stunning lovely sunny smile he'd got. xxx

Nanto, I love the graphic - perfect to cheer up a dull day. I look forward to seeing the photos of your garden as work progresses. Will the fenced off part have a special purpose? (Sorry, I'm being nosey.)

Our visitors, OH's younger brother and his wife, arrive this afternoon. I'm doing salmon with new potatoes and veg for dinner. SIL is gluten- and lactose-free, so I'll probably make parsley sauce with lacto-free milk. Not tried that before, so it will be interesting.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

I am going to ring the outpatients department of the hospital and have my leg checked. We rang last night and a nice man (staff nurse) was reassuring and said ring at 9 and I'm sure they will fit you in. My left leg is so swollen all the way , and instead of improving it is getting worse I was very down about it last night as I am doing EVERYTHING I am supposed to and it's getting worse! The man on the phone implied this was quite normal, but agreed a Dr seeing it would put my mind at rest. So, I will report back! It being so swollen makes exercising hard. I can put up with it as long as I know nothing is wrong. I will never complain about my fat legs again as my other now looks slim by comparison

Today we have a man coming to service the gas boiler and OH's friend who helps her with her tax returns is coming round to help her with that. Now we don't have the rented property any more this should be the last time this has to be done.
No other plans as far as I know.

Gem, I'm so sorry you're feeling down about your leg. I can imagine it must be really painful and very uncomfortable, but as you say, you can't help worrying and seeing a doctor will put your mind at rest. Go gently with the exercises until you've had it checked. Sending hugs. xxx

                        Morning ladies

                        Gem
Get it checked is always the best course of action , you may need a drain or antibiotics,
It must be very sore and as you say difficult to do the exercises when it’s so swollen ,

Gemini, so sorry you are worried about your leg, best to get it checked out.

Oma, I missed the picture of Finlay too. One minute it was there then it was gone. So pleased you are still seeing and feeding GS, he is such a big part of your life.

Daisy, Like the sound of your dinner, have a nice time with your family. I wonder whose lap Eva will be sitting on.

Nanto, like Daisy, I am wondering what you are planning for the end of the garden.

I am going to make a trip out, there again I might not. Trouble is if I don’t go out I don't see any life.

                            Enjoy the visitors Daisy.

Lovely to see so much of your GS Oma. I know you miss him lots, but it must help.

Plant, maybe driving somewhere you could sit and have a coffee or lunch and watch the world go by would be an idea? Not too tiring but stops you feeling isolated.

Well I phoned outpatients at 9 , to be told they would phone me back. So I have been carrying the phone everywhere.
                            10. 40 and I called again to be told no they hadn't forgotten me! Just past midday and still no call. It's a good job I'm not desperately worried!
OH and friend are busy on the tax returns in the dining room.

Hallo everyone, Oma, I did see the photo of Finlay, cute and growing so fast!

Gem, what a carry on to get someone to speak to, I hope they do phone back today and that the pain eases, I have no idea how long it is painful for.

I have been to aqua, the young man wasn't there today so it really was for the elderly!!!!

Daisy, enjoy the time with your visitors.
