    Good morning everyone.

It looks a lot calmer here. I'm just having my breakfast then will I drop GS1's card, balloon and present in. We didn't go last night in the end, too wild and windy!
GS is going out to breakfast with his dad, then we have a family meal out at a Italian restaurant in town at 4.30 then back to theirs for cake. His party for friends is tomorrow.

    Have a good Saturday everyone

Morning, Gem, happy birthday to GS1, you have a busy day ahead of you.

We had heavy rain all day yesterday, dry at the moment but rain forecast later on. I may go for a bike ride to my veg man, I have already been to the Lidl

      Nanto, enjoy the sun!!!

Good Saturday morning, everyone. We've had some rain overnight, but the sun is shining this morning. It sounds as though the storms have been horrendous though. Stay safe, everyone.

Nanto I do hope you're getting lovely weather on your holiday.

Lizzie, I hope your friend near Aberdeen is ok. Good to go out on your bike before the rain starts again.

Oma, that's some storm, blowing the top off a lighthouse. Are there any trees down behind you?

Gem, I hope GS1 has a wonderful birthday week-end. He will be a busy lad, won't he. It's a good job you didn't deliver his present and balloon yesterday - I can picture you being carried away over the rooftops like Mary Poppins. Your physio wouldn't have been pleased! Have a lovely tea with the family this afternoon.

          Plant, did you go shopping?

Yesterday ended up being non-stop! OH got back while the window cleaner was still here, and OH and our neighbour decided it was a good day to cut back an overgrown Photinia Robina in our garden. This involved putting planks on the summerhouse so they could stand on the roof, long-handled lopers and a long handled little chain saw. It took most of the rest of the day, but they've done a good job - although the resident robin didn't think so. He kept going quite close to them and giving them a good telling off!

OH now has a trailer load of branches to take to the tip tomorrow afternoon (first slot he could get) and I need to give the patio a good sweeping up when it's dried out.

I'm not getting much done at the moment - Eva is all on edge and keeps jumping on my lap. There could be thunder about.

I did manage to get 3 loads of washing done yesterday, but of course the ironing pile has grown considerably.

Oma, the public car park is a few minutes walk from the restaurant but OH will drop me at the end of the road the restaurant is in so not too long a walk for me.

Sadly ironing never goes away Daisy!

GS was very excited this morning and showing me his presents

That’s the problem with doing a load of washing Daisy, it makes a lot of ironing or in my case folding and putting away.

I didn’t get to go shopping, it started with a visit from my son, I made him lunch. H was here and was armed with a pot of water and a 3 inch paint brush and was painting patio furniture. Her mum and dad arrived, they didn’t have any hot water so GD and H had a shower in my bathroom. DD went out shopping and Sil tidied up their place. Sil’s sister in law arrived to collect some Membrillo (she is Spanish) Everyone suddenly left and I eventually got my meal. I think there will be a gathering to watch the England match, not expecting a good result for England.

Daisy, poor Eva, I hope we don’t get thunder for her sake. That pruning sounded like a big job, nice that the cutting back was shared with your neighbours. I am sure Mr. Robin settled when they finished.

Gemini, Best Wishes to your GS for his birthday. Sounds like a busy birthday for him.

Oma, your GS is keeping you happy with his visits. I used to love visiting DS when he was working in Germany for a couple of years. We used to find the food in the supermarkets very tasty. We loved Kassler (sp) but can’t find it here. You do keep your OH busy.

Off for a shower now, will pop back later.

Lots of branches down but not the trees we want to lose some , they are taunting us by their strength 😱😁
Sounds like that was a big job , we’re you worried about J being up on the planks? It’s something B would try if I let him 😁

                plant
Its all or nothing isn’t it, but nice they can turn to you when a crisis hits like no water😁
Will you go out shopping today?
No you can’t get Kassler here well unless you can get to the German Deli in London ,
We order from them occasionally as they do Metterden cooking sausages you can’t get either,
We order and freeze them but

I have been just up to Co-op on the parade, not too far. Had a snack and coffee in my favourite cafe before I went to do the shopping.

It is certainly all or nothing here, very quiet next door but they are expecting some of Sil’s family to come this evening to watch the rugby. GD has hot water again. H loved having a shower in my shower with her mother. I am now going to have a quiet afternoon.

Plant, how lovely that H enjoyed using your shower with her mum. They must be glad their hot water is back on though. I hope you're all enjoying the rugby, whatever the final score. Can I ask what Kassler is, please?

Oma, J only went to the top of the high step ladder. Our neighbour who is much taller and quite a bit younger went on the summerhouse roof, although I think J was quite prepared to do it!

Gem, how did your GS1's birthday meals go today? Is he excited about his party tomorrow as well?

The thunder storm didn't materialise, thank goodness, and I seem to have spent the day doing 'silly' jobs - like dismantling and cleaning the salt and pepper mills! I need to get out more, obviously.

I have just come back from next door watching the rugby.Poor England they played so well and only lost in the last few minutes. So well done considering they were playing the best team in the tournament. My watching was somewhat spoiled by Sil’s sister-in-law, who is Spanish, she talked loudly most the the way through the game, wish I had stayed in my own room to watch it.

Daisy Kassler is cured pork, I prefer it to bacon, I like the texture.

Good morning, Plant, we get the Kassler at the Lidl, it is called Casselerib here.

We had rain late yesterday afternoon, the forecast is dry for today. I did get the skirt and jacket cut out, I have been promising myself to do that for weeks now.

                          Good morning everyone.

                          Happy sewing Lizzie!

Plant, water 'painting' is a great activity for little ones

We had a nice family birthday meal out for GS1 yesterday, then everyone apart from his Grandpa and OH went back to theirs for cake. Baby loved it all. Meal out and the family attention, then cake and running around after lit up balloons at his cousin's house, late night for him !
GS1's party for friends, a laser quest one, is actually Tuesday after school, not today as I thought. One of his friend's shares his birthday and it is his party today.

                          No plans for us today.

                            Plant
What a shame your viewing was spoiled, you will remember next time if she comes to watch on your own.
I can just imagine H in your shower it would have been exciting showering in grandmas shower 😁

                            Gem
Busy few days for GS sounds like everyone had great fun , bet the baby enjoyed all the attention too😁

                            Daisy
I bet J was itching to get up those ladders ,
I must get out more too I often do jobs like that , yesterday while I was in the bathroom I washed all the shampoo and body wash bottles down , sad I know 🤣🤣🤣

We out this morning meeting DD&SIL and his parents for breakfast/brunch at the local garden centre ,
Its ideal for our friend as it’s quite large and open meaning she can get in and out with her wheelchair no bother.

Well it’s been a week for things going wrong
                            Thursday the tooth brush saga
Yesterday I broke one of my favourite vases glass everywhere
This morning the bottom draw runner in my fridge broke away ,
My fridge doesn’t have fixed shelves it has shelves and drawers on runners so they pull out ,
Not sure it can be fixed as it’s broke away from the fridge wall sort of thing ,
Might be a case of a new fridge if we can’t fix it , B will see later when we get back.

Good Sunday morning, everyone. We've got sunshine, too, although I think it was quite chilly overnight.

Oma, what a week for things breaking. Hopefully that's the full set of 3 now, and your home will go back to behaving itself. I think J took some persuading to let our neighbour do the high up branches. Enjoy your breakfast/lunch out.

Lizzie, I am so in awe of your sewing skills. I'd love to see the finished skirt and jacket as well, please. .

Plant, kessler sounds tasty. Pity about the rugby and your SIL. I hope you were still able to enjoy the game.

Gem, GS1's birthday celebrations are epic - I bet he's loving it all, and lucky it's half term as well. I'd have loved to see GS3 having so much fun as well. I hope he slept well last night.

We've had a very late start this morning. OH has a tip run booked for lunch time, so I might do a cooked breakfast and skip lunch.
