Good morning. It looks like a nice morning.

Daisy, i was upstairs yesterday getting changed and never noticed we'd had a shower. It was hubby that mentioned it.

I think i might have enough washing to make a full load, so I'll get that on.
Hubby doing a job in the garden, so i think I'll cut the grass.

Lizzie, hope DS isn't delayed with his flight.

Dinner is swede and potato mash, chicken and bacon lattice, veg and gravy.

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

      Good morning to all.

Nana, that's a sweet graphic. Our shower yesterday was short too. I was at the library and only noticed when the librarian rushed to close the patio door which I had wedged open and rain was coming in!

Daisy that must have been doubly annoying. getting soaked and coming home to the washing also soaked!

Lizzie, we go to Birmingham on Sunday, most of us arriving midday or early afternoon. We all leave sometime on Tuesday morning. I think my train is around 12.30. I hope your son has no flight delays.

Aquafit this morning, Only one class for me this week as Monday was a bank holiday and no class. I have to drop into the Nuffield this afternoon to drop off a urine sample, but no other plans today as far as I know.
Back to school for GD today so I'm crossing fingers all goes smoothly.

** Just heard from DD2, GD was in school, on time, with only one last minute jitter. SO pleased and proud of her

Gem, well done to GD, you will all be pleased.

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. The sun's shining. I'm saying nothing else about the weather after yesterday!

Gem, you must be over the moon that GD did so well going to school today. I hope the day goes well for her. Our schools don't go back till next week, but I think GD1 is looking forward to it (so far).

Lizzie, fingers crossed your DS's flight to Sweden is ok.

Nanto, what a lovely graphic. We all need a hug sometimes, don't we. I hope you and OH get your gardening done.

Oma, that was exactly what he said, even though he was doing some wiring in the boot of the kit car, with the garage door wide open and kneeling on the (wet) drive! We had to take all the cushions off the furniture and bring them inside to dry and of course the washing was wetter than when I hung it out!

It's a usual Wednesday for us - OH and his pals working on the kit car, and Eva and I have got training this afternoon. I'll just take her for a short walk this morning.

Daisy our schools don't go back until next week either. For some reason GD's school is a law unto itself! Likewise its school day from 8.30 to 2.30!

Gem, if it's a State school, I wonder how they can do that. It must cause awful problems for families with siblings in your GD's school and other schools. Our local schools cross county boundaries and it was always a juggling act when they had different holiday dates.

I should think the 2.30 finish for the youngest pupils must be a headache for working parents too. I think both our GDs' schools start before 9 am, but don't finish until 3.15 for the junior school and later for the senior school. Does GD's school have a very short lunch break?

Our schools in the village start at 9am, the first school finish at 3.15 and the middle school at 3.30.

Not sure what I am doing this morning, board games this afternoon. GD1 face timed me at 8.30 so presumably she wants to do something this morning before H has a sleep.

Plant, it must be lovely being able to share so many activities with H.

GD2's junior school is next door to the infants' school and they stagger their finishing times as well. It's still chaotic, though as the schools are at a busy and quite complicated road junction.

sent you a text to say I got it this morning , it bounced back to my in box so ihave sent it again 😁

                        Plant

                        Daisy

                        Lizzie
Hope your DS gets his flight on time .

                        Nanto
I have just been looking in the washing basket , there isn’t enough to warrant a full load so I’ve put it back till tomorrow.
Is it dry enough to cut your grass do you think .

We have just been to Aldi
Not one checkout open and all the self service tills were card only .
I told a lie and said I didn’t have a card on me so they had to open a till,
Once we put our stuff on the belt a queue quickly built up behind us , people still want checkouts so why force the self service onto us.

My Nephew managed to get a flight home no bother, He contacted his army boss and they said several were worried about making it back so they understood He got home tea time yesterday and travels to his unit today but by car this time .
So he actually will be back in time.

GS and Girlfriend are off to Amsterdam for a few days today flying from Newcastle , he has just text to say looks like their flight is ok .

I got the text Oma, thank you.

I hope you are having a lovely day Plant.

Daisy it's a state school but they seem to be following the dates and times of a nearby private one!! I'm not sure about the lunch break.
For us as a family it mostly works well. Her brother finishes at 3.15, leaving plenty of time to drive between one school and the other. One of the half terms differs between their 2 schools though so that's not so good.

No coffee after my class as neither of my friends could stay today.

Got the washing dry. Just brought it in,when we had a shower, lasted about a minute.
                            Sun has been shining since.

Plant, hope you enjoy your games afternoon.

It's the last day of the month, August seems to have gone really quickly to me.

Other than that, just a usual day for us.

Got some ironing to do and going to clean the fridge.

Dinner will be fish in breadcrumbs, baby potatoes, veg and parsley sauce.

Oma, hope GS and girlfriend enjoy Amsterdam.
