Gem, I do hope SIL doesn't get nasty when he finds out that DD1 knows what he is doing.xxx

Good morning everyone. It's sunny here but quite chilly. I'm piling the layers on when I go out! At least yesterday's floods on the roads have subsided, but there is quite a lot of flooding in the Forest.
Gem, I'm sorry your DD is feeling stressed, but she has got a lot to contend with and I'm sure you having GS for the night will give her chance to talk to your SIL. I do hope she's ok - sending hugs. xx Enjoy your reflexology.
Nanto, I think small children learning to dance, especially ballet, are so cute, and most of them seem to take it very seriously. I hope you find what you want in the shops and enjoy your morning browsing round.
Oma, another good sleep - let's hope this becomes a regular habit for you. Although you might end up with so much energy you will be shaking the last of those leaves off the trees. x How sweet that your GS's girl friend was so pleased to come out with you all for afternoon tea. It was very kind of you to invite her.
Plant, Kevin has done well by the sound of it. It would be good if one of the people who responded to your request could pop in once a week to help you with jobs like changing the beds, cleaning the kitchen floor etc.
Lizzie, being on a high crane in that cold weather must be awful. I hope the workmen have got good thermal underwear!
I've been thinking about Clover as well. I do hope she's ok.
The roast pork wasn't brilliant. The crackling worked fine, but the meat itself was very fatty (more than I'd expect even on shoulder) and gristly. I am very fed up with supermarket meat and must organise myself to go to the farm shop once a week instead.
I haven't got a hi-vis jacket, but Eva's shines very brightly, and her neon lead shows up well, too. Oma, walking in the Forest at night is fine. There's no-one around and I don't go too far in the dark."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

We didn't eat out in town, but we met up for coffee.
Plant, pleased the kitchen is done.
Gem, enjoy having GS for a sleep over, but i expect you will be worrying how DD is.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Great restaurant you are running there Oma 😊
Nan2, yes it is a bit worrying.
DD1;was here this morning and for lunch, then went to her best friends house. GS1 thinks she is in London.
The idea is SIL goes to a local hotel tonight ( DD has booked it and a trusted friend , best friend's OH, will drive him there) I'll say more in YEO later“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Been a lovely day weatherwise here, no rain.......yet! Yesterday was awful and cold as well as wet!
Painter still here but he's doing the stairs and landing which aren't the easiest places to do. I've managed to get the lounge sorted out and everything was dusted and polished today, windows done yesterday, so all I'm waiting for is my new sofa which will hopefully be here before Christmas.
Gem, hope all goes well for DD1 tonight. I'm sure it's not something she's looking forward to, but getter to be done now than later. It's good that GS1 is staying with you overnight, even if it means an early start for you!!!
Daisy, there are two vey good butchers near me and I try and alternate them! Not that I buy a lot of meat these days, but it's all good quality and both have a very good selection. I can buy one portion of chicken in a sauce all ready to cook and I know there'll be no wastage. good selection of sauces too!
Oma, I bet you didn't want much to eat after that Afternoon tea! It was lovely that GS's GF enjoyed herself too. Pretty girl!
GS in the middle of his mock GCSEs at the moment! DD says she's no idea how it's going ! We'll just have o wait for the results.
Solar panels seem to be working! I've got an app on my phone which shows what's happening and where the electricity is going either to house, battery or the grid!
Have a good evening ladies xBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

WeeGranny, I do hope you get your new sofa for Christmas. You must be feeling very pleased with all these jobs getting done. I hope your new house is feeling like home now. I'm in awe of how much you've achieved in such a short time. I hope your GS's GCSE mocks go well. He probably has no idea how he's doing either. The solar panels will save you a lot of money. Our village butchers isn't great, but there's a good one in the next village, although I'll probably go to the farm shop which is near DS2's, so I can drop in there on a Tuesday on my way to pick up Cooper.
Oma, your GS is such a lucky lad to have such a first class family restaurant so handy. Does it still seem strange that he's doing things like going on a works night out? It does to me when GS1 does these 'grown up' things.
Nanto, it feels like a good job well done when you find everything you want in the shops. At least you got to sit down with a coffee.
Gem, thinking of you and your DD. Hugs xxx
It has seemed like a busy day here. I went out early this morning to take GD2 to school and DIL to work (their car is in for servicing). Brought Cooper home. I took him back later, because I was picking up DIL2 and both GDs from the shop. OH came with me as he wanted something from the shop so we ended up back at their house having a cup of tea and a chat. It was lovely to see the girls. GD2 was on a high as she had received a certificate at school for Citizen of the Week in assembly. I think I mentioned the problem GD2 has had with school trousers (the uniform ones don't fit her) and today she'd gone in non-standard ones - not quite the right colour - but at least she was warm. Her Mum had mentioned it on a Mums' social media app and several other girls turned up in the same kind. Nothing was said by the school, so hopefully they are acceptable.
We got home about 6.30 and I cooked dinner, did the Sainsbury's order for tomorrow and now feel ready for bed.

I agree with Daisy WG, you have done so much since moving!
Well done to your GD2 for that certificate Daisy
Thanks everyone for your concern and support concerning DD1. I have updated on YEO.
GS went to bed with no problem and soon fell asleep. I will take him to school tomorrow. I can pick him up too if needed, but the plan is for DD to do so.

Last out first in
Good morning everyone.
Up early with GS1. I know some of you are regularly up at this time, but it feels like the middle of the night to me, especially on cold dark mornings!
He will happily amuse himself downstairs, but we have to get him to school by 8.35 so I may as well have a leisurely start to the morning.
Aquafit for me later and a dentist appointment this afternoon . Just a check up.
I may possibly be picking up GS from school, but probably not.
Have a good day everyone, I will talk to you again later.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Guess what ? The heavens have opened and it is throwing it down! Will it ever stop ? DD has snow in Slovakia !!!
Going to DD's today to look after doggo while the carpets are being cleaned. Don't think the walk will be happening! I shall take lots of stuff with me to do while we're sitting in the dining room where the carpets aren't being cleaned.
Gem, I'm like you, not a morning person. Like to get myself into gear slowly and preferably not before 8 o'clock! OH was a morning person and I think DD takes after him, but DS is like me, happy to stay up late.
Booked myself a couple of nights in Winchester next week. Feel in need of a change of scenery and it's not too far to drive. I believe they have a lovely Christmas market there too, but it'll be nice just to wander round a new place.
Hope everyone has a good day and manages to keep dry ! xBelieve you can and you're halfway there.

Good morning everyone. It's sunny here at the moment, but due to cloud over later. Looking at the floods in the garden we must have had a lot of rain overnight. Eva went running across the lawn and sent up a big shower of spray in her wake!
Gem, I agree, getting up that early feels like the middle of the night to me. Even worse when it's dark. I'm glad GS slept well though. Enjoy your Aquafit and I hope the check up at the dentist is just routine.
Nanto, I think it must be great to be a 'morning' person. Most of our lives are geared up to early starts which suit the larks very well. I hope your SIL and her hubby have a nice birthday week-end.
WeeGranny, I sympathise with all the rain. If your DD's doggo is like Eva he won't pester you for walkies in the rain! Will the carpets take long to dry? Winchester is a lovely city and, yes, the Christmas markets are supposed to be good. I've got a couple of friends who go every year. The Cathedral is beautiful and well worth a visit. There's also the Great Hall of Winchester Castle where King Arthur's round table is. Definitely take your camera. The only downside is parking, if you can park at the hotel it will be a lot easier. Which days are you going?
I'd better get on - the washing is piling up. I keep putting it off hoping for a good drying day, but it's not happening. I'll take Eva out for a short walk and get an early lunch. Then dog training this afternoon. I've got a casserole ready for tonight, so not much cooking to be done.
Have a good day everyone.

Daisy how is GD1 doing now is she doing better ?
I bet GD 2 was thrilled with her award well done her 😁
Some school rules are really silly , as long as it’s school colours even a variation of the colour shouldn’t matter , they there to learn not a fashion shoot .
How is DS this week is his treatment going ok ?
Yes I still don’t think it’s real GS driving never mind work nights out and going away with his girlfriend for nights away ,
Hes still my little man in my mind 😁

WG, We have lovely sunshine now so I am sure you have it too. I hope you have good weather for your trip to Winchester, lovely town
Oma, sorry to hear Storm is feeling a bit poorly, I am sure he is having lots of cuddles.
I have someone coming tomorrow morning to help me put my kitchen straight now the dust has settled. Kevin is a very tidy worker but whilst it is not cluttered, I thought it was a good opportunity to wash the cupboard doors etc and I don’t want to stand on steps. I posted for help on the local website and I had 3 replies, 2 of them I knew.
Gemini, enjoy your Aquafit, you probably need it.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare
