Good Saturday morning everyone. The sun is doing it's best, but I think the clouds are winning.

Gem, I hope your Mum enjoys the Christmas Party today. Well done to GS on getting the class Gold Card. I bet he was very proud to show it to S as well. I love the amazing ways primary schools give their youngsters so much encouragement these days. At the infant school my GDs went to there were awards for achievement, but also for being kind, trying extra hard, making progress with work, so it wasn't just the "high flyers" getting singled out.

Oma, happy birthday to your young man! I hope he has a lovely day. Poor Storm. I hope he's feeling better today. You do feel sorry for them when they are poorly.

Nanto, I see your graphic friend is all ready to go shopping as well! Have a lovely time, and I hope the shops aren't too crowded. I bet it doesn't seem 5 minutes since GD2 was a new born baby. I hope she has a lovely birthday and isn't working.

WeeGranny, enjoy your glass fusion class. If it's what I think it is, I love the results, and it looks very creative. Please show us a photo of your work. I watched a needle felting demonstration at a craft fair just before Covid struck. The lady worked very quickly and I did wonder how she managed to avoid stabbing herself. It's not for me - I couldn't handle the wool. It would be like nails on a blackboard.

No special plans for us today. I need to get the dog's food order done this morning, and I don't think I can ignore the freezers any longer - they need defrosting and a tidy up.

Whatever, you're doing, I hope you have a good day. xx

          Good morning,

Nanto, DS1 always has done a lot of travelling for his work, but, mostly only a few days away, when he went to India etc he was away for a fortnight at a time.

          Well done to GS2 Gem.

I have a red cabbage in the slow cooker and it smells delicious. I will have to wait and see how it tastes.

Lizzie, I've got a red cabbage in the fridge. I'd love to know how you do yours in the slow cooker, please. I'm looking for some interesting but easy veg dishes to make a change from the boring boiled sprouts for Christmas Dinner.

Daisy, I will let you know how it tastes, but, smells delicious, herbs, apple, cloves, bayleaves, onions and salt and pepper. Oh and cider vinegar.

We love home made red cabbage with apple etc it’s really nice with pork ,
It freezes very well too so a batch can be made well in advance we find anyway .

DD and SIL came before lunch with Bs card and Present , then GS turned up and realised his card and gift were still on his bed so he is dropping them off before he goes with asIL to play golf 🙄😁

Gemini, Well done to your GS being awarded the Gold Card. I hope you mum is well enough to enjoy the Christmas Party.

Oma, do you hear from your DS and GC on your birthdays, I do hope so. I hope Storm will feel better soon.

WG, that does sound an interesting class, have a good time. You have certainly settled well into the village.

I heard from the hospital that they are taking me off the Cancer pathway, good news there. I feel very tired today after my day with GD and H. It was quite a complicated journey and parking etc to use the soft play area. H had a lovely time but I don’t think we will use it again. I am going to sit and watch the Rugby this afternoon, H is next door so I might pop in and see her.

Daisy, I suppose the garden isn’t as exciting as the forest for Eva. I haven’t commented how pleased I am that your GD1 is feeling better.

Good news from the hospital Plant

I love red cabbage too ladies.I used to make one with apple, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper and a little butter, cooked slowly. I loved it but my OH isn't keen so I never make it now.

The party was fairly stressful to be honest. Mum was upset and confused, we took her back to her room but things didn't improve much. She did enjoy the buffet lunch and Father Christmas but she couldn't hear any of the music and found the calling out of raffle ticket numbers confusing and annoying, She went to the loo at one point and when she came out was delighted that I had arrived, then very upset because I told her we had been there over 3 hours and were going soon I have decided if mum is still around next year we won't go to the party. Mum will still have the food and FC visit, but will be happy to stay in her room and won't realise there is any reason we could be there.

it’s not worth the upset for you all , as you say if she’s still with you next year there is no point putting her or yous through that again xx

                      Plant
We get a text from DS if we are lucky that’s it .
He text his Dad this morning and had a little chat but no card or anything .

We have several soft play areas in our area but everyone is on a industrial estate and parking in one of them is a nightmare you have to go through the lorry service entrance and getting out again is pot luck if one or more lorries are parked up .
I can’t understand why they choose such places ,
I know it’s because they are big places but they should have a separate entrance and exit for them .
Good news from the Hospital ,I bet your relieved 😁xx

Plant, that is such good news from the hospital.

Gem, well done to GS for the gold card.
Sorry to hear today was stressful.

We had a good day in town. Went to one the pubs and had a lovely carvery for dinner.
                        The weather stayed dry.
In the past couple of hours the wind has got up and we keep having a shower.

Plant, that is such good new from the hospital. What a pity the soft play area was so stressful. Our GD1 has certainly made a good recovery - and has had a very good report from school this term. How kind of you to think about her. xx

Oma, it's lovely that GS1 came to see his grandad and even more so that he would come back again with the card and grift he'd forgotten.

Gem, I'm so sorry your Mum didn't enjoy the Christmas party as much as you had hoped. She does enjoy her food, which is great, but I can imagine how confusing the raffle prize numbers were, especially with her poor hearing. I hope she was a bit more settled by the time you left.

Nanto, that sounds like a good day, especially with a carvery meal thrown in and the weather staying dry as well.

I did a bit of gardening and couple of loads of washing this morning, and after lunch I defrosted the dog fridge-freezer and gave it a good clean. I had put in a large dog food order this morning, and I hope I'll have enough room between her freezer and the chest freezer in the garage. I'll have to do the chest freezer tomorrow. It's also a good time to check out what we've got in and what I need to get for us over Christmas. I am going to be organised this year!

We're having a torrential downpour at the moment. The gutters are overflowing at the back - it sounds like a waterfall out there.

I've just washed a load of darks, hopeing to get them out when it gets lighter.
No plans for today. Will just see how the day goes.

Good Sunday morning, Nanto, and all who follow later.

It's stopped raining here, thank goodness, but it's not properly light yet and feels very damp!

I'm going to get the chest freezer defrosted and cleaned today. Horrible job, but it's nice when it's done. It's certainly too wet for gardening.

I hope everyone is ok. x

                                Morning ladies
Nanto I have just washed and dried a load of darks ,
I will put the towels in after I’ve been showered , sometimes I think all I do is wash towels constantly 🙄

Its Finley’s Christening today at 12
We have to pick MIL up at 10.45 as it’s a hours drive , she will be in a temper as she doesn’t do mornings ,
Usually she doesn’t even get dressed till at least lunch time , won’t make any appointments till after 2pm ,
So when she has to get up and dressed early we never hear the last of it .

GS turned up again last night with his Girlfriend she wanted to wish B happy birthday, so we seen him 3 times in one day and he’s coming for tea tomorrow , he may as well move in 😁

Have a good day ladies xx
