Got the news letter Gem, thank you.
Gardening was done early. We debated whether to go out or not.
Glad we didn't go out.I had just been showered when hubby's sister and husband came.
We had a lovely couple of hours socialising with them.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning ladies.
Nan2 I remember us having one of those wash boards when I was small, but I don't remember it ever being used. I presume my mum's mum passed it on to her.
I disliked the single tub with wringer enough, not sure how I would have got on with that!
We are off to the seaside again today!
This time a family outing, if a bit depleted. Last year there was bigger group of us. This time DD and SIL3 and baby can't come, due to DD's painful breast and the time consuming feeding regime (I will be updating at some point) My DD's dad and OH cant make it either. It will be DD's 1 and 2 and families and SIL2's parents, and us of course!
It rained overnight but it looks like nice day in store again.
Have a good day everyone.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown

Your washing tub and board made me smile Nanto! At coffee morning on Friday we were chatting about things that we didn't have in our younger days. I mentioned that our building had a wash house in the back yard and each house had a specific day for using it. One of the the other ladies said : Gosh, that was a long time ago!!! Made me feel ancient I can tell you! She was quite embarrassed when she realised what she'd said.
Family back from the States today though their flight was delayed because of the previous night's storms. I expect they're in bed now and will appear at some point this afternoon. It'll be strange without doggo. He's certainly made his presence felt, but it will be good to have a meal without him sitting staring at me!!
My Sunday treat is an almond croissant for breakfast. I pick one up when I go for my papers. Today it was Β£1.09 and increase of almost 10%. Just as well I only have it on a Sunday! DD was horrified at the prices in the States, so inflation is obviously a world wide thing. I do wonder how some families are going to cope during the winter months with prices increasing on every front. I did notice however, that petrol prices have started to come down which is a positive sign.
Have a good day whatever you're up to ladies xx
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Finn is 11 weeks now , that time has flown by π
WG
When we have Storm for a week or 10 days , when he goes home the house feels empty and quiet ,
Its strange as he spends all his time in the garden and is a quiet dog , doesnβt bark at all , only noise we hear is his squeaky toy
But itβs a void when he goes ,
You will be pleased to see the family I hope they had a good journey ,
Prices are ridiculous at the moment ,
I said to B how are people with children supposed to cope , almost Β£4 a box of cereal , itβs cheaper to feed them Bacon and egg and toast on a morning now .
Well as I didnβt get a lot of sleep last night I had a Nana nap that lasted over a hour ,
I woke feeling better so I did the ironing then I washed all the kitchen cupboard doors and tops of doors downstairs ,
plus the fridge and the freezer ,
Not as grubby as I thought but I feel better they are done ,
Its a bit overcast here but sticky warm .Im not fat just 6ft too small

The prices are rising exactly the same here, I buy my grains from a man at the market, I have done the same for years, 2 packets for β¬5, I went for one the other day and it was β¬3,75, he said everything is the same, I know he can't do anything about it, he has to pay the prices asked. Other things are the same, especially dairy products, I am on my own and notice it so I know people with young families will notice it as well.
Oma, you have done well cleaning on a Sunday! In fact I have done a few drawers in the kitchen and then the toilet floor etc, I am going to DS1 for a meal so I had better get myself sorted out.

WG - it will seem quiet without doggo! It's funny how they can be really calm like Storm, but the house still feels empty without them! I hope DD and family have enjoyed their holiday despite the prices.
It seems almost everything is going up in price DS1 and DIL had just taken delivery of a large pile of logs for the winter yesterday, and they were nearly double the price of their last order. And that's just one item. We knew we needed fuel for OH's car yesterday, but OH was reluctant to pay the extortionate price in our local garage (the highest we've seen for a while!) So we decided to stop at a large supermarket garage in Camberley - and it was closed for rebuilding! The next nearest, another supermarket, keeps running out so in the end DS went with OH to a small garage near to them. I hope our local garage reduces prices when the visitors have gone, but it makes me cross that they are treating people like that.
Oma - I think children would do better on bacon, egg and toast than kids' cereal! Perhaps these price hikes will encourage people to rely less on convenience food. How lovely to hear Fin 'talking' while you were on the phone to his Mum and Dad. x
Lizzie - the price rises seem to affect everything, don't they.
I've done a bit of gardening this afternoon, and swept the patio with help from Eva!OH is pottering in his shed.

Oma, gorgeous!!!
Daisy, I'm glad Eva was helpful today π
I'm sure Doggo enjoyed his time with you WG!
ββββββI agree with you all regarding prices. I notice prices going up every time I shop. I was shocked last time I filled my car with petrol.
We had a really lovely family seaside day at Filey. Lovely memories made
We got home after 8pm, so a long day, but a good one.
An early start for me tomorrow as I have to be at the pool by 9 for an aqua class. The class I usually go to on Wednesday starts at 9.45, a more civilised time. I can't go this Wednesday as I have the boys this week. I will be going to DD3's after my class so may not get online until later in the day tomorrow.βA grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.β β Unknown
