My visitors have gone 🥲. It was so lovely having them here and I really miss them and having someone in the house again. We had a lovely time but the goodbyes are awful.

very hot here again and I’ve done nothing……..can’t put my mind to anything. Back to normal tomorrow with Cooperhere and a friend coming for coffee so hopefully a better day. Not looking forward to the heat though, hope it doesn’t last too long.

lots of new babies on here, lovely seeing the photos.

      Keep cool everyone. 🌞🌞

Enfys, I can understand you feeling sad! My DB phoned this afternoon and we were saying what a good few days we all had whilst I was visiting, we did as well, after not seeing them for so long it went really well.

He was telling me not to let myself get depressed and emotional!!!! So, I will do my best, it doesn't help in the heat though.

          Nanto, another baby, congratulations!

Lizzie, I don’t like it much when my family are away but want them to have an enjoyable holiday. At least you have lovely neighbours. My tummy has been a bit odd the last few days, I blame everything on Covid. Take care and be good to yourself in the heat.

Enfys, not nice having to say goodbye to the family, don’t try and do too much in the heat.

I managed to do a shop this morning, with a mask on. There were lots of empty spaces in the fresh food dept. In Waitrose and they were giving customers a bunch of flowers.

Oma, hopefully your sore tongue will soon clear up now.

Nan2, beautiful baby with a pretty name. Congratulations to all!

Lizzie, just take it day by day. You will go forward, get better and your emotions will even out again xx
Enfys, you will feel sad after such a lovely time. You will adjust and won't feel as sad as you do right now. Sending hugs xxx

Two friends came round this afternoon, while on a walk. They messaged first to check it was OK. I was very glad of their company. Apart from that and preparing my meals I have divided the time between reading in the garden and catching up on recorded TV.

I am heading for a cool shower and reading in bed now.

SIL2 has tested positive for Covid. He was here on Friday picking up the children. I have done a test today which is negative. Fingers crossed I haven't caught it. We did sit next to each other on the sofa for a while, but fortunately we didn't hug.

Good night all. I hope it's cool enough for us all to sleep!

I feel so sorry for all you poorly people. Being ill is bad enough, but when it leaves you feeling emotional and tearful as well, it's no joke. Things will get better, but it doesn't help much when you're feeling low. Sending you all hugs and flowers.

Oma - thank goodness the doctor made a quick diagnosis.

Nanto - your nephew's baby is beautiful. I'm pleased she's arrived safely. Congratulations to her num and dad.

Gem - your poor DD3. I remember how fed up I was when my DS2 was just 11 days late - and it wasn't in the worst heatwave ever! Once she's holding that baby in her arms, she'll feel fantastic. How is S's golf tournament going? It sounds as though you needed some company, and I do hope you haven't caught Covid from your SIL2, and that he's soon better again.

Enfys - I've been wondering how you are. It must have been awful saying goodbye to your DS and family. I'm glad you've got company tomorrow. It was hot today - it seemed hotter than the thermometer was reading, even though there was a breeze.

I've been surprised how quiet it's been here yesterday and today. Usually you can hear people in their gardens and smell the barbecues etc. There seems to be no-one outside and OH had to go down to Lymington this afternoon and he said there were more cyclists and ponies on the roads than cars!

We put a paddling pool out for Eva, but once she'd fished her football out of it she ignored it.

OH decided to flush out and clean the drains from the sinks in our ensuite and the main bathroom, and the shower. The main bathroom one has been a nightmare (I lost track of the problems), but he came back from Screwfix this afternoon with loads of "bits" and still has to get something else to fix it! I felt really tired, and had a siesta!

I think I'll have to get up really early to take Eva for a walk tomorrow.

                      Night, night everyone.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.
Pub lunch sounds a good idea Nan2.

It was hot last night! I tried a cold water bottle and cold damp muslin cloth on my skin. I did sleep eventually but it took a long time to drop off.

Today I was to meet my friend M for lunch, then collect GS2 from school and bring him back here. GD starts her residential week from school today. DD doesn't want me to collect him, as it's a lot of time stuck in the car at the hottest time of day, and my AC isnt working efficiently. I am waiting to hear back from my friend, but I suspect she will prefer to reschedule.

So, a day of relaxing again for me. Sainsburys delivery due this morning. I will get outside and do all the watering soon before it's too hot. OH will be back around teatime I think, so she will resume her normal watering duties tonight!

I have ordered a quiche from Sainsburys, we will have that with salad and new potatoes tonight, so minimal cooking!

Do take care everyone, enjoy the weather if you can, and do all you can to stay cool and hydrated.

                            Morning Nanto
I have a dark wash out on the line , done the bare minimum of housework ,
Cleaned toilets and kitchen that’s it , first time in a long time that I haven’t bothered but it’s too hot to care about .

So hot during night I went in spare room at about 1am and lay with the windows wide open and the blinds up to let air in ,
B can’t sleep with curtains and blinds open so you don’t get the same breeze .

I have Dentist at 2 but I will ring when they open as I’m not sure they will treat me having oral thrush .

Hope everyone is doing well , will pop back later to see xx

Good morning, it is already very hot!!! I went to the gym for 30 minutes, I think that is where I picked the corona up, so many people had been tested positive.

I phoned the surgery at 8am about my bowels etc, all part of the package, so, I have to drink a lot, which I do and try to eat whatever I feel like eating. I did eat chicken breast with broccoli last night and I enjoyed that.

We have to be home all day today, not that I was planning on going anywhere, they are fitting the cables for the glass fibre, my hall cupboard is empty for when they get up here. They need to be in my garage yet, that is the 29th then should be fitted in here on 30th.

Oma, you do right not to do too much in the heat, I slept ok, all windows open for the breeze and I have a ventilation tower I put on for 2 hours and that helps. I have a screen hung up on the balcony and everything is open, it is 40 degrees out there and 22 in here at the moment.

Gosh that's hot Lizzie! It's 29% where I am, set to rise to 34 later. I have even put an open golf umbrella on the lawn for the cat, to give him extra shade!

Best to phone the dentist and tell them Oma as you say.

I have had my shower and breakfast, done the morning watering, and set up my sunbed in the shade. My friend and I decided to postpone our lunch. Sainsbury's due between 10 and 11. I have ordered myself a few different soft drinks, as I am off tea and coffee. Water alone gets boring after a while!
