Its pitch black here and windy ,

We are picking MIL up soon to take her to our Shopping centre then for lunch ,
I have a feeling she may cry off though , She doesn't like coming out in the wind and rain although its only getting in and out of the car everything is under cover .

The rain has started now and its quite heavy so we will wait and see ,

I will pop back later see how everyone is doing xx

Good Monday morning everyone. Autumn has arrived here! It's quite blustery, but the heavy clouds are giving way to sunshine, so perhaps it won't be too bad. No plans for me today - I'm more than ready for a day off!

Oma - I hope your MIL braves the weather - I'm sure it does her good to get out for a bit.

Nanto - we can both have a relaxing day!!

Good morning, very windy here and we have had lots of rain. The garden will benefit, that’s for sure.

Today is my first day looking after Cooper, the little Westie who lost his owner recently. He’s very laid back, has been for a mooch round the garden and is now sleeping. I don’t think he’ll be any trouble, he’s very sweet.

im going to get my slow cooker out and make chicken casserole, that will give me a few meals for the freezer. Other than that, no plans. Have w good day everyone. 🌞

          Good morning everyone.

A horrible dark wet and windy one where I am.

Enjoy your free day Nan2, whatever it holds.
That sounded a nice afternoon with your friends Daisy. And yes you deserve a day off!
Lizzie, you are so in touch, with your Spotify, I remember you having an mp3 player before I had even heard of them! Wise to mention the ribs to your aqua instructor.
Oma, my mum would have been just the same as your MIL with the wind and rain. One benefit of her being less aware now is things don't bother her as much!
Have a nice day with little Cooper Enfys.

Today we are going to visit my auntie. I am glad that we have arranged to have lunch in the bistro there, rather than go out. At least we only have to battle the wind and rain from car to door and back and Auntie will stay dry!
          Quiz for me tonight.

          Happy Monday

My goodness, what a wet and very windy Monday morning here! I was planning to catch the bus into town to do some necessary paperwork, but I think I'll put it off until later in the hope that it clears up a bit! After all the beautiful weather we've had this comes as quite a shock to the system! Autumn is here with a vengeance! keep warm and dry ladies !

Not sure what the rest of the day holds, not visiting OH today, went yesterday and he's still moaning about food etc!

Gave the lounge carpet a dry clean yesterday. Used one of those bags of Vanish powder carpet cleaner . Looks a bit fresher now!

Enjoy your day ladies whatever you're up to xx

After some overnight rain we now have sunshine, lovely for the plants. Talking of plants, I spent a lovely day yesterday with Dil, first we went to my favourite nursery for her to get some plants for their newly designed small garden. Dil was like a kid in a sweetie shop, we filled two trolleys, managed to steer her away from some plants but she made some very good choices. We finished with a coffee in the coffee shop. I am a member of Dobbies so free coffees and £25 off her plants and compost. DS was cooked a roast for us all. We set too after lunch and managed to agree which plant went where, it really did look very nice. GS3 sorted out the wedding pics for me then drove me home, using some valuable petrol.

WG, sorry to hear your OH is still not happy with the food, you fed him food he liked, very different for him now. Never used a dry carpet shampoo.

Daisy, after the last few days trying to re-claim your lawn, you should do what you enjoy today.

Enfys, have a lovely time with Cooper, I would love a dog for the day. I have just finished my chicken casserole from the freezer, must do some more in my slow cooker.

Oma, I hope the weather improves so that Mil will feel happy (perhaps that is the wrong word) to go out.

Gemini, I am sure your auntie will be very pleased to have a visit from you, bistro is a very posh word for their restaurant. Enjoy the quiz tonight, hope you win.

Bowls for me later, fortunately indoors in case it rains again. Must push the sucky thing around and the fluffy thing on the stick to chase the dust.

Gem, I am always up to date with the music etc, listen most of the time. I pay Spotify for the girls and DIL so decided to use it myself.

Plant, DIL will be pleased with the plants. It is very tempting walking round a garden centre!

This is photo of my late sisters GS1, he finished his first triathlon yesterday and his 4 children were there to accompany him across the finishing line, it brought tears to my eyes. My sister would have loved it!

Lizzie, what a lovely photo. How nice for his children to cross the line with him.

Gem, hope you had a lovely time with Auntie.
                    Enjoy the quiz tonight.

About 8 ish this morning, the rain absolutely poured down.
We have had some decent sunny spells once the rain stopped.

WG, what a shame OH is still not happy with the food.

I think OH just wants something to moan about! All the food is cooked on the premises and what we've seen of it looks very appetising! he had a lovely plate of fresh fruit the other day, all cut into manageable pieces and some sandwiches on lovely fresh bread. I'm sure he's eating because the staff haven't said anything to us about him NOT eating!

Getting into and out of town was a nightmare. The bus route passes by a petrol station and cars were queued back along the roads to it. Tesco staff were marshalling cars into and out of the station. I'm sure that number of people couldn't have been running on empty. Took an hour in the bank to get the finances sorted out.....forgot it was the start of the new term so lots of International students setting up new accounts etc. Anyway, got done what I needed to, did a couple of other jobs and went back to catch bus.....running 25 minutes late! Got a coffee and sat in the park next to bus station and watched for it coming up the road before I went and joined the queue. Our bus station is one of the most depressing places I know! I didn't really feel comfortable walking round town and was quite glad to get home again. Strange how circumstances have changed attitudes isn't it?

The sun is now shining and it's beautifully warm, but still windy. Going to get some towels out on line, they should dry in this wind!

Hope everyone has had a good day especially those ladies who have been lunching!

Nanto, it is a lovely photo, he is young with 4 kiddies but adores them and they all do so much together which is lovely to see.

I went to Aqua and managed it, the young man said that the power of the water would help. It was raining when we left, dry now but blowing a gale, I had to go and see the dietician so off I went again.

Then I have sold a coat for GD2 so rushed to get that packed and posted for 5pm, now to get something to eat and relax.

WG, sorry I missed your post, you could be right about OH, he must be eating or they would tell you.

it wouldn't be a very nice visit to the town, I have to go to the hospital next week on the metro, I am not keen on doing that either. It is always very busy.

Plant I bet the garden looked so lovely with new plants in and lunch cooked for you now that's a Bonus

Nanto after a wet start we had lovely sunshine

Well Just back from taking MIL home , Oh my goodness I am shattered , she was Bl***y hard work today

Wanted to go somewhere for lunch , I told her everywhere in our shopping centre is either fast food or Pub grub ,

First she wanted to look in Sainsburys Coffee shop then complained it was all sandwiches , Yes the clue is in the name COFFEE SHOP not Cafe ,
Then a small Pub in there , sat down got the menu's after looking at them for 10 minutes she then decided nothing on them she wanted ,
So off we went again tried another two places again nothing she wanted ,
Why did none of them do Roast dinners or meals , We told her AGAIN they are all fast foods and pub grub ,

Finally after walking around for what felt hours she decided we would go in a little place and she settled on a Sausage sandwich , we had Scones ,
Could have had them in several places she rejected .

If she had said before we went to shopping centre she wanted a proper meal we could have found a eatery near by , But she said a snack

Then she wanted to go to the card shop and there was a little boy having a temper tantrum , She loudly complained about the noise ,
So I said you had 5 bloody kids of your own they made noise , so don't go moaning about others
No mine were better behaved I never had anything like that ,
B said mam we were a nightmare many a time you have dragged us screaming back home because we played up .

After looking all round she then wanted to go to the retail park to M&S and Lidl and finally home

If I drank I would have a large Brandy
She wants to go out next week to a out of town shopping area , I will have to build myself up to it ,
B just groaned I had to say remember she is 87 and your Mam just grit your teeth and smile

Im not fat just 6ft too small

                            Comment

Oh Oma, a brandy would definitely be called for if you drank, after all that!!!
WG, as you say I am sure you would be told if OH wasn't eating.
Lizzie, hopefully the water will have eased it a bit.

We had a lovely time with auntie. She is amazing for nearly 93. She had prepaid for our lunch at the bistro, including teas or coffees and a cake each, which was very naughty of her. Next time we will take her out somewhere else for lunch so she can't pay!
It rained most of the morning but by the time we got to auntie's just after midday the sun was out. It rained again mid afternoon, but lovely and sunny again now!

We came home via the petshop for hedgehog food and Boots for me. I have had a red and itchy eye for several days. Antihistamines drops ease it slightly but it's not improving. It is driving me mad. I spoke to the pharmacist who have me cream for bacterial conjunctivitis, which I think it is. I asked how long it takes and she said it's a 5 day course. If not better then see your GP. I couldn't help but laugh!

Well Gem, good luck with getting to see your GP! I hope your eye eases in a few days. I read it wrong again, thought you had bought new boots at the pet shop.

You would enjoy your tea and cake, amazing being able to arrange tea etc at her age.

Oma, it would be hard work with your MIL, did you feel like, no I won't say what I think!!!! She is a good age though to want to do all those shops.
