    Good morning everyone.

Nan2, I should get on with making pies and crumbles, we have so many apples! OH made a crumble with some of our rhubarb yesterday.
I hope your visit to OH goes well today WG.
Hopefully patio man turns up as planned Daisy.
Plant, it must be so lovely having the family so close by, and watching your little GGC growing up.

Today OH will be playing golf with a friend. DD2 has invited me over for late Sunday lunch - roast chicken. OH is invited too of course, but unless it rains torrentially she will be on the golf course. We are eating at 3, I will go over between 12 and 1 I think. GS2 always has a lot to show me

Rain is forecast here at some point.

    Enjoy your Sunday ladies.

Oma, the pictures you sent of your room looked good, very luxurious.

Daisy, very difficult to tell someone you are not happy with their work but it has to be done or you will never be happy with your patio.

Lizzie, I be your family were very worried about their DD but it all worked out in the end happily.

Gemini, lunch sounds lovely, nice not to cook. I expect your GS2 is excited to show you things.

Nanto, I love anything cooked with apples too. My fruit trees are having a rest this year and what cooking apples we have safe very small, we will throw them in the woods for the deer. I still have a bag of stewed apple in the freezer.

Oma, my GD is not really enjoying being back to work, she is mainly working on the till and finds some customers are so rude. childcare seems to be working okay. That baby will go with anyone but at bedtime it is mum she wants. GD would rather be working with animals, the job she loves but the money is so poor.

Good morning, warm and sunny here. Like you Oma, I love anything with fruit in and can eat all fruit.
          Gem, enjoy your lunch.

Our boilers are not working right, a long story, 16 years they have worked on the night energy, now, for some reason or other they have stopped that, I thought the water was colder when I had a shower one day, it was, we have had a letter explaining it all and that they will be coming to install? something that it will heat up again, in the meantime we have to set the timer to warm the water, I had to read the letter twice to understand it, the friend with alzeimers saw me downstairs and came to me to tell me she had been under a cold shower. I went with her and switched the timer on for her, explained that it should heat in that time, I just called in and it was warm again so I have said until they come and do whatever I will go every morning and set her timer for 20 minutes then that will keep it warm. How they expect the elderly (more elderly than I am) to understand it all I do now know.

Then is annoys me that no-one else has explained it to her.

Lizzie, it's good that your neighbour has you to look out for her. As you say it needed to be clearly explained to everyone.
Plant, let's hope that one day your GD gets her wish to work with animals.
Mum is fine Oma , thanks. We are taking her out tomorrow afternoon.

I coloured my hair this morning. I will go over to DD's once it is dry. OH will probably come over later.

Daisy, i always use shortcrust pastry. I'm not keen on flaky or rough puff pastry.
Made 2 pies. Baked one and the other has gone in the freezer.
Had a bit of filling left over, so that has been made into a crumble.
We love custard with pies but had cream today for a change.
Got the fridge cleaned and tidied both freezers.
Housework done,so that lot kept me out of mischief for a few hours.

Had a few spots of rain about 10ish,but then the sun came out. Very warm again.

Went to Morrisons this morning then onto Aldi ,
In the queue at Aldi when phone rang ,
GS1 was standing outside our house , there had been a mix up with his shift at work so he had came to ours ,( job is at top of our road )

We were only 5 minutes away so we got back just as it started to rain , it only rained for 5 minutes mind you .

As usual he was hungry and had a look in the bags as we were unpacking , he settled on a Bacon sandwich and coffee .

He couldn't find the key we gave him , after he ate he emptied his back pack out and it was in the bottom

Then DD came with Storm had a coffee then her and GS and dog went home via pet shop .

Sun is out and its quite warm now .

This is all so busy for a Sunday!
I had ordered a coat and some jumpers from M&S. The good Lord only knows what M&S have done with their sizing…I tried on one jumper and I had room for a friend! The coat sleeves were so tight I couldn’t have worn a jumper underneath. Anyhow, most of it went back today. I would never normally go in to town at all, let alone on a Sunday but the arm fell off my only pair of specs and I need to get that sorted tomorrow morning.
Our lovely neighbours are moving out today. They are both with Ryanair and they will finish soon. They tell us the people moving in are very nice. I am sure they are, we’ve never had bad neighbours but I bet she doesn’t make paella like G! (She is Spanish) 😁😋
I must get a move on with dinner.

Grauntie - good neighbours are worth their weight in gold. I hope your new ones are 24 carat, and good luck to the ones leaving. What a nuisance losing an arm on your glasses, and I agree about M&S - what on earth are they doing, and what planet do they live on! Colours, sizing, styles.

Oma - I don't know what your GS1 would do with out your bacon butties, or the contents of your fridge and cupboard. I bet Storm got something nice at the pet shop as well. Eva loves going in to pet shops.

Nanto - I like shortcrust pastry best, as well, preferably home made. I hope you enjoyed the rest of the sunny day after your busy morning.

Lizzie - what a pain with the hot water not working, and your poor neighbour - if it wasn't for you she could have been really struggling.

Plant - what a pity your GD isn't particularly enjoying her job. It would be lovely if she could eventually work with animals.

Gem - where are you taking your Mum tomorrow? I hope it's a nice day for her. Does it take long to colour your hair? What a lovely treat - a roast chicken dinner and good company.

I'll write about today's events on my patio thread.

Good morning, Daisy, I never thought about my friend not being able to understand the letter, I think quite a few people won't be able to understand it all.

I called in at DS1 yesterday, my DIL is busy decorating oyster shells that they find near the boat, very nice they are as well, they showed me them in one of the shops when we were in Middleburg so I had an idea of what they were like, I have a few shells here that friends brought back with them last year so I have taken one of the larger ones and she will decorate it for me.

Plant, what a shame your GD can't find a well paid job with animals.

Gem, I hope you enjoyed the lunch.

I am thinking of getting my windows done inside this morning, pool this afternoon.

Sun is shining. Just remembered, i haven't swithched the washer on.

Just had to clean 2 big windows, before the sun moved on to them.
Birds have used them for a loo. Looks like they have been on the blackberries.

                                Good morning everyone.

Sunny here too Nan2, the forecast is good.
                                Lizzie the shells look beautiful.
Clothes sizing can be so random can't it Grauntie? I have had 'snug' things and others I could have gone down 2 sizes in easily!

Daisy it takes 20 minutes for the colour on my hair, plus the applying it and washing it off and conditioning. I don't like to use hairdryer on it so it needs a couple of hours to dry (maybe a bit less as I had it trimmed last week )

I had a lovely afternoon at DD2's. A great meal and so lovely to spend time together. OH joined us in time for the meal too!
This afternoon we are taking my mum out at cafe at a marina. It's only about ten to fifteen minutes drive from where she is, so not a long journey for her.
Quiz this evening. My turn to set it and I haven't done any of it so that is my task this morning.

                                Have a good day ladies.
