Lizzie, the cystitis is such a nuisance isnt it? I do hope it clears up soon.

This afternoon OH collected a baby hedgehog from a friend's garden and delivered it to the local hedgehog lady. It is female, small and young. We don't know yet about any parasites. There will be some reason it was out in daylight. You must always return a hedgehog to where you find it (unless unsafe like the middle of a road) So if she makes it, OH will return her to the friend's garden.
I have sorted through some of the boxes we had brought from my mum's house, and boxed some of it up for the charity shop.

Thanks Gem, the tablets are working, not as bad as it was, just having to "go" so often isn't handy.

I didn't know that about hedgehogs.

You will have some sorting out to do.

My banana bread turned out really good, and delicious, I have taken some to my neighbour, we share what we have

Lizzie, freezing individual slices is a really good idea!

Gem, I have actually managed to do it without eating most of them before they reach the freezer, I do often do it with cake though, in slices, handy when it is needed

Lizzie, when i make a cake,i usually bake it in a lof tin. I always freeze half of it.

Gem, hope the hedgehog is ok.

We usually have snackabout 7.30 in the evening
This can be anything from egg or beans on toast,a sandwich or soup.
Tonight i just made toast, and we couldn't believe how much we enjoyed it.

Toast is a very good food Nan2, and sometimes just what you need 😊

Oma - I hope you and B are now settled in your lovely hotel for a couple of nights. Relax. Enjoy - that's an order!!!

Lizzie - cystitis is so horrible, and I'm not surprised you don't want to stray too far from home. I've never used ground almonds with banana bread, but it sounds lovely.

Glamm - your new car sounds wonderful. Are you giving her a name? (I assume she will be a girl!) It sounds very 1950s, glamorous colours and a bit Sheila's Wheels - I love girly cars.

Plant - you're such a busy bee. Where do you get all your energy from? xx

Avo - it must feel like your 'other' home. Have a wonderful time. What's the weather like?

Gem, I do hope the young hedgehog is ok. Will she need to be putting lots of weight on now, getting ready for hibernation? I suppose parasites rob the poor little thing of vital nutrients and make it susceptible to other problems. I hope she's ok.

Nanto - sometimes toast just hits the spot, doesn't it. We have 50/50 white/wholemeal bread almost all the time, but I don't think you can beat thick sliced supermarket bread for the best toast! My home-made doesn't come close.

OH is out tonight - his wood turning club has started up again after 18th months of Covid restrictions. He helps a mate with the 'shop'. The mate bulk-buys consumables like sandpaper, finishing products and other bits and pieces, with any profits going to club funds, and they decided on masks, gloves and careful social distancing.

I seem to have had yet another unproductive day, apart from doing the Sainsbury's order and taking Eva out for a walk.

I think another nice day is in the offing.

Going to dads for a couple of hours later.
Hubby will call and pick me up, when he brings dads stuff from the bakery.
After, we will just see how the day pans out.

Good morning Nan2, I hope your FIL is doing OK.
                    Good morning ladies.

I hope the Oma's are having a lovely break

I will update on the little hedgehog when we know more. The hedgehog sanctuary lady thinks she is 8 weeks old. They are called autumn juveniles, those who are young once hibernation time sets in. She has a while to gain weight yet though.

Our friends C and P are coming for coffee this morning.
This afternoon I will collect GD from her high school for the first time. I will set off early as I feel a bit nervous about finding it and where on the road I can park. I just need to wait in the car. She will have her phone and switch it on after school, so we will be able to find each other I'm sure. We will both go for GS2, then back to ours.

                    Happy Friday everyone.

Good morning, is it a long drive Gem to pick GD up from school?

it is dull here with sun later, very warm though.

Enjoy the catch up with your friends.

Lizzie, its Brayton near Selby, so a bit further than the primary school, probably 40 minutes drive from here. I have to allow more time though as you can get caught in single file farm traffic or temporary traffic lights on the A19. GD finishes at 2.30, GS at 3.10, so plenty of time to get back for him.

Gemini, I hope the little hedgehog will be okay for hibernation, if not will the hedgehog lady keep it through the winter? We have a hedgehog sanctuary a short ride away called Tiggywinkles. I wish we had hedgehogs but we have had a dog until recently. New school run for you, I hope you find some parking, the coaches picking up the children block most of the parking here.

Your right Daisy, I have had a very busy busy week and have been feeling it, very tired playing bowls yesterday, came home had a cup of tea and promptly feel asleep in the chair. Couldn’t be bothered to cook so had some soup and some fruit. Warfarin clinic this morning and a funeral late morning. The hospital is very close to the crematorium so I will waste some time in the very attractive village/small town nearby. Later I have to make some scones for the WI cake stall at the Village Hall tomorrow.

Nanto, I am sure your fil will be pleased to have you visit, it is very early days for him, he must be feeling a bit lost.

Oma, I hope you are settled in the hotel and being waited on.

Lizzie, I hope your cystitis clears up soon, nasty painful thing.

Thanks Plant, I hope that after the examination etc they can help me stay clear in the future.

                            Good luck at the hospital.

Gem, I do know Brayton, BIL is from Selby and when they married they lived in, or near Selby the first few years. In fact they lived in Barlby and I think you will go through that today. Not quite sure though.
