A belated Happy birthday Glamm. It sounds like you had a good day, and, a new car, it sounds very girly! I am pleased to see your neighbour is home and coping.

Glamma, good to hear your birthday celebrations went well and Jim is doing OK.
Enjoy the new car!
DD1 called in this morning to drop off GS's martial arts stuff and stayed for a cuppa. That was very nice as we rarely see each other. SIL collects GS from me.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

How lovely Glamm, a new car. It sounds great you will feel like giving it a run when you get it. People will see you coming with a coral (presumably the colour) cars. We had 2 Fiat 500’s when the children we small, one was the Topolino estate, we went all the way to Italy in it. Then DD had one when she was in the 6th form, unfortunately she rolled it.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Gem - I had to laugh. I can't easily get to my painting table until I've put the ironing board away! But I haven't done any ironing yet and now the sun's come out.Enjoy your relaxing day and taking GS1 to his martial arts this afternoon. How did the Monday quiz go without you?
I agree about strawberries, but British strawberries must be nearly over now. The season's got longer over the years, but I'm sure we'll soon be seeing only imported ones which I always think are tasteless.
Plant - I hope the dentists was as ok as it can be. It will be great to get your table runner finished - I remember you were working hard on it pre-Covid. Out this evening as well - you are a busy girl today. xx
Lizzie- I'm glad your DIL's knee is getting better. I wonder what's in your neighbour's ointment.
Glamm - a new car is such fun, and yours sounds appropriately glamorous. I'd love my car to be a great colour (it's a dreary dark brown) but I love driving it so much I can forgive its colour! It was probably the right time to make the change from your Polo, but it's served you well and got you back on the road. What a lovely birthday you had - just what a girl needs for her special day. So pleased to hear Jim is home and doing well.xx

Daisy, these strawberries are delicious! Grown a lot in the UK, so they say. Malling Centenary they are called, this is the site of our growers but don't think it is in English. https://hoogsewetering.nl

Lizzie, the Malling types of strawberries are very popular with amateur growers in the UK - I tried (and failed!) to grow them on my allotment.
The strawberries on your growers website look luscious - mmmmmmm... It looks like a family firm.

Daisy, they used to grow roses, then in 2011 there were new rules etc and they hadn't the space for roses and started to grow the strawberries, they are very popular as well, it is a family, even one of the mothers helps to serve the strawberries, she was telling me it will be the last of this batch this week.

Lizzie - quite a change from roses to strawberries, but I'm sure they have at least as many customers, if not more.
Gem - same here. I miss strawberries, raspberries, cherries and white fleshed peaches or nectarines.
But British plums will soon be on the scene - Victorias, Egg plum and other delicious varieties. I noticed the grape vines people have in their gardens round her are ripening nicely, too. Although they're not ready yet - the birds haven't attacked them.
