That's why we have never been to any of my DDs for Christmas before Oma. Mum would be with us, and much as they all love her they know her capacity to spoil a day! We all got together on Boxing Day each year though, which was lovely. Mum didn't go last year, I think things were already getting a bit much for her by then.

I picked up my order from M&S, OH picked up the jigsaws.
I'm going to write Christmas cards now. Hot cup of tea in a Christmas mug by my side

I got in laws freezer cleaned and tidied, while hubby did his job upstairs.

I am routing for Masie to win she is fantastic she looks every inch the professional dancer now,not that I am any expert.
It seems to have gone over so quickly this series hasn't it ?
To-day is so dark and miserable I have just woken up after having a nanny-nap for 2 hours just popped the roasties in the oven and the veg on to steam
if I had slept any longer I would be eating my dinner for supper !!

Oma - you really could write a book about your MIL! B must have been just a teensy weeny bit fed up when she said about the new hinges on the cupboard door after he'd fetched the other ones! It's a good job you've both got a sense of humour, bless her. Your DD is a sweetheart inviting her for Christmas day. I'd threaten to put her out in the garden with her Christmas dinner if she doesn't behave herself.

Gem - this Christmas really will be different for you. Have you and your DDs sorted out who's going where? Did you get your cards finished?

Nanto - another couple of jobs to cross off the list! Well done.

Glamm - you must have needed that nap. I think sometimes tiredness builds up and we have to go with the flow. I suppose we're not as young as we were!!

Daisy, yes I got my cards finished, addressed and stamped this afternoon!

We are going to DD2s for Christmas dinner. If there is by then any chance I can see my mum, she is in the same village so that will work well. In the morning we are going to DD1's for a while. GS1 is sad that we won't have family Boxing Day, but we will see him Christmas morning and he will meet up with his cousins, outdoors, on Boxing Day I think. They will probably come to us the following day.
As DD2 points out, our plans are not guaranteed as it's possible the children or one the the adults could have to isolate for 2 weeks, then no mixing. OH and I have everything we need here for Christmas Day just in case. Fingers crossed we will get to see the family though!

Gem - well done on getting your cards done. All our plans are dependent on everyone staying well, aren't they. We will be quite ok here for Christmas if we can't go to DS1's for any reason, but we really do want to be there for DS. We'd also like to see GD2 on the 27th for her birthday - even if that's a quick cup of tea and a chat in the garden. We won't see anyone else, even though OH's sister and her husband will be visiting their DDs nearby. They are travelling down from Wales so I hope that is still possible for their sakes. I've rather lost track of what's happening there, although I thought the whole UK was the same for Christmas itself.

Nan2, I hope the BP test goes well. I must do mine with the home monitor, I keep forgetting.

Daisy, yes fingers crossed we all get to see who we want to over Christmas. DD thinks schools should shut a week early, meaning that any child who has to isolate due to a case in class, would be 'free' by Christmas! I think she has a point.

Back to Monday afternoon library duty for me, after a months closure for lockdown2. Quiz with friends this evening, my turn as quizmaster. It is all set ready to go on my laptop.

Im having Storm while DD meets two of her staff at a distant to hand over Christmas gifts and have a Coffee sitting in the park

She has been doing two at a time all week last week to make sure they all get gifts , everyone is working from home so they are not seeing each other apart from Zoom meetings .

Oma, will we ever get back to normal for people like your DD and her staff can get together.

GS1 popped in with the little ones yesterday, I had been watching the rugby with my Sil and the others were sitting by the fire in the other room. I was on my way back to my house, Papa was rolling around with GGS and where was her ladyship, she was in the utility eating the dry cat food. All she thinks about is food, good job I had just removed a packet of paracetamol from the coffee table, GD2 had left there. Had a nice chat with my sister on the phone, she is amazing.

Nanto, I hope you pass the BP test, I am off for an injection for my bones later this morning, I am almost looking forward to it, just to get out and see other people.

All though it is dry here to-day it is very cold even with the heating on it still feels rather chilly,I have put on my fleecy hoodie to keep myself warm.
I have been up rather early for me 7.15am as the roofers are due between 8am-5pm to inspect a hole in the roof but no sign as yet,when DGS was getting down some decorations out of the loft he said he could see day light in a corner of the loft so I got straight on to HA and give them their due they made a quick appointment to come out and inspect it,so just on here and drinking tea whilst I wait for them to arrive.
Enjoy the rest of the day ladies I am going to have a quiet one and catch up on TV for a while.x

Blood pressure was up a bit, so she took it again after a couple of minutes and it had gone down.
Took her a while to get my bloods,but got there eventually.
