Good morning Oma, yes you are first!
    Good morning everyone else.
The last few days to fill this chatbox with lovely chat, then the new one opens it's doors on September 1st

I must go to the opticians, my glasses fall off if I look down
Good news about SIL, WG. I know how hard it is to find accommodation in September we are struggling even for October.
Daisy, you need some doing not much days, you have earned them!

Hectic day here yesterday! OH going to do the 6 monthly check ion the rented house, SIL dropping off the GC, hairdresser arriving. Fridge freezer arriving, GS playing all over the house, as usual , and involving Grandma in 2 story hide and seek game (toys being hidden and looked for!)
DD stopping for a cuppa at pick up time. Quick dash to make house look less like a nursery, then friend arrived. Nice chat and takeaway! A good day but hectic

This afternoon is my visit to my mum. I hope the rain stays off. DD2, who lives in the same village is planning to come to see her Nanna over the gate something I have been told we can do.
Today we also have to move everything from the old fridge freezer to the new one and put the new one in place, and the other into the garage.
My friend who has a garden fundraising event on Monday is calling in today to borrow our gazebo, just in case. The forecast is OK for Monday so I hope she won't need to use it.

    Happy Saturday everyone.

Good morning.I'm late in this morning.

We have been packing some parcels ready for posting at the CO-OP.

DS1 popped in on his way to work, so made him some breakfast.

      Supermarket shopping this afternoon.

Feeling very lazy this morning and not dressed yet. Family due back from Cornwall sometime today. Yesterday after doing our shopping, I took GD to have her toe nail sorted then drove her to meet up with her partner at his mother's house, it was her birthday and they were having a family BBQ. It was a bit of a mix up because her partner was stuck into BBQ food and she had bought pizza for them. I left her to come home with him and drove back. I shared the pizza with GD as I didn't want to start cooking then. I think he was in the dog house because of the muddle. It was the most I have driven for a very long time so a G&T was justly deserved.

Enfys, your body is releasing all the tension you have been under for such a long time. Listen to your body and go with the flow.

Lizzie, so sorry you are suffering with the heat, I hope the cycling before bed gives you some relief.

WG, I am sure your Sil will be glad to be home, is the tumour causing him any pain. Enjoy your break in Somerset.

Oma, hope your Sil can help with the rugs, does your mil know what colour she wants?

Oma, Your GS is an active young man with hollow legs, he needs a lot of feeding.

Hope the fridge freezer arrived and is safely installed Gemini.

Lazy Saturday morning, nothing wrong with that Plant
Fridge freezer is now switched in and in situ. Other fridge freezer is standing in the kitchen still full. It needs four hours to get to temperature. Neither of us will be in at that time so the moving over of food and getting the old one out of the kitchen will be done later today. JL would have removed the old one for £20, but we decided not to take that option, so that we didn't have to empty the old one before it came. OH says it will go into her car to go to the tip

As Gem says, we've got a new Chat Box planned for 1st September as this is getting nicely filled up.

Can I ask you all a favour. Would you mind clicking on the very first post in this current Chatbox (the Admin post on page 1) and clicking the "Like" button. The more who can do this the better. I think it might help GRU to be more visible to possible new members. It's the same with all new threads - the "likes" in the first post are read by the search engines. Obviously some with some threads it wouldn't be appropriate, but otherwise, the more "likes" the better. It was so lovely to welcome Fairy Queen recently, and it would be great if we can encourage a few more grandmothers to join us.

Gem, what a busy day you had yesterday. I don't suppose the weather helped either.

I hope your visit with your mum this afternoon goes well. I'm sure she will be delighted to see DD2 as well, even if it is only over the gate. Let's hope the care home makes better arrangements soon.

Plant - we're allowed a late start and a lazy day sometimes! I'm glad the pizza found a good home and hope GD's partner wasn't in too much trouble.

Nanto - you're also allowed a lie in - although it sounds as though you've been busy. It's amazing how long it takes to pack parcels for posting, isn't it! How lovely to see DS unexpectedly. Did he get a Full English?

<whispering> the sun's still shining here. So I've been doing loads of washing and it's blowing nicely on the line, and doing a few essential jobs in the garden, although the ground is too soft to cut the lawn. Just had lunch, so I'm off outside again while it's so nice. See you all later.

I had a wall wardrobe in my garage, a long story, friends of ours moved house, this was in the spare room and they were taking it to the tip, I asked DIL if she wanted it for her bedroom, yes, it came here and 3 years later, they have moved house and the cupboard still in my garage! I asked around but no-one was interested, asked DS2 and he said to put it on Ebay for free!
A man came for it on Thursday, he came with his son, around 14 years old and daughter, 10 years old, the cupboard is going to be fitted in her room, this isn't very interesting, but, the man couldn't use the right side of his top body, arm, shoulder etc, maybe a result of polio. The children were such good help, unbelievable, the parts were heavy and they both shared the weight and father directing them etc, lifting it onto the trailer was no easy task, no problem between them, the boy tied it all down very professionally, a net over the top etc. It impressed me to see how good they helped their father. I got a message later telling me they had arrived home and it all went well.

DS offered to make dinner tonight. I could hardly refuse could I? So he's slaving away in the kitchen making a chicken pie. I believe there will be mash to go with it. Looking forward to it. Off to pour myself a glass of wine and have a look at the Telegraph crossword.

That's the problem with online shopping.....you have to stick to a list and can't pick up something nice when you're physically going round a shop. That should make the shopping cheaper, but it doesn't seem to in my case! I suppose though, I tend to get a week's shopping and don't have to buy anything extra through the week.

Went to get something out of the freezer in the garage to discover the door hadn't been shut properly! That's tomorrow's jobs sorted out, checking if anything is usable and defrosting it. Not one of my favourite jobs I must admit.

Hope you had a good visit with Mum, Gem. Don't think I'd have fancied sitting outside in this cold weather.
Oma, hope your shoulder is easier today.
Enfys, hope you're still taking it easy and letting nature take its course.

                        Have a good evening ladies.

Thank you for the clicks, ladies. It's not too late for others to add their click as well, pretty please.

WeeGranny - how lovely to have DS cooking a meal for you. All credit to him - chicken pie is quite an undertaking. What a nuisance about your freezer door. I hope you can save some of the contents.

Lizzie what delightful and mature children. I'm glad your wardrobe has gone to such a good home.

Nanto - I bet most of us don't stick to our lists when we shop for ourselves. I can still go 'off list' shopping online - it's easily done.

Good Sunday morning Nanto and all who call in later.

It's bright and sunny here, but I haven't tested the temperature yet. I need to do some of the jobs I didn't do yesterday, but if the sun's shining I think that gives me permission to be out in the garden for another day.
