Off to meet Gem & S for lunch today we meet half way in Darlington easy for both us and them to get too looking forward to it

Bank rang B on his Mobile yesterday say some strange activity on card , so he said he would ring our Bank , used house phone just in case was a scam ,
It was genuine someone had tried to buy something in Zara but payment was declined , they checked if recent purchases we had made were correct everything was right apart from this Zara one , They have blocked his card and sending new one out ,
Strange thing is our Martins card was fraudulently used on Monday and his card had to be blocked too they waiting for their new cards , Different bank though

Oma it was very wise of B to double check on the bank’s phone call.

Plant that sounds like an interesting day. I made an ordinary patchwork table runner a while ago. A Christmassy one will be lovely.

Nothing special happening here. I must make a couple of phone calls and write a letter.Apart from that a bit of washing and general chores. The windows need cleaning but with the wet weather I think I’ll leave them for today.

Good morning everyone. The sun's shining here but it's a bit chilly.

Gem - hopefully now you have got the x-ray results and a hospital appointment they will be able to decide what's the best course of action for your poorly knee. I hope it doesn't have to be something major like a total replacement, but I'm sure if the outcome is a pain-free knee you will cope with the procedures.

Gem and Oma and OHs - have a wonderful lunch and give each other a hug from me, please.

The new broadband is installed but I haven't had time to change the router yet - that's one of today's jobs. So far, ok! Oma - we haven't changed provider, just the provision.

Oma - how strange that both B and M's cards were used fraudulently. Had they used them together at any time, like paying for a lunch or something?

Plant - enjoy your sewing day. I'd love to see a photo of the finished table runner.

Clover - I don't envy you sorting our your garage. You definitely need some help with it, so I hope your DS's OH gives him some 'time off' soon. I'm sure your neighbours are very understanding. Hopefully the roof repairs will go smoothly. xx

Hallo, after been ill for over a week I am feeling a little better today, close to pneumonia the doctor said, she even phoned me on Monday afternoon, never happens, to see how I was! If I don't improve by Friday she will put me on prednosone, so, hoping to improve by then!

I do read most posts, read about the cottage steps Nana, I was in a lovely cottage a few years ago, only the stairs!!!! Narrow, steep and winding! The staircase came out in the bedroom so when I went to bed I put a gate across the top to stop me falling down in the night when I went to the toilet.

Oma, awful about the cards, I know nothing was spent, but, probably would be from other cards what would Mrs Brown call them? The @@@@@@@@s! I had my purse stolen in a supermarket in the village a few years ago, never recovered from it, don't like dishonest people.

Clover, I have a garage and a shed that need a good sorting out!

DS1 phoned this morning, on his way to Schiphol, 2 days in Edinburgh. The girls are both home today as some ( most) of the teachers are on strike. DIL works from home on a Wednesday morning so she is home. I was reading that children can go to Maduradam (model of Holland) and the zoo in Rotterdam for free, could be other attractions doing it as well, they will be crowded.

Daisy, hope the broadband is fitted now, I will have to phone about my internet as it has the habit of vanishing!

Gem, good luck with the knee. Painful things.

I live in an apartment and almost 12 years ago they were renovated, put new coating on the gallery but it wasn't a good choice and was coming loose, this covering is only in the first 2 blocks as they are 55+. They are fitting the new covering, very nice, I was in the group that went to help to choose it etc, visited a few different apartments where they had different coverings and this was the one. Will see if the photo works. No, not working. I will try later.

OH been for blood tests this morning, waiting for phone call from consultant re his last week's scan. Nobody seems to know anything about it! Frustrating or what?

Lovely sunny morning, but has clouded over now, so washing hanging on airer in spare room.

Off to chemist's for some cough mixture to see if I can get rid of this cough that's appeared out of nowhere! Sound as if I'm a 20 a day smoker!

O&G have a lovely lunch. Tell B to watch his cards Oma! Goodness only knows what might happen if we become a cashless society.

Hopefully you'll get some more information about treatment for your knee on Friday Gem.
