Oh, Gem, poor little kitty. As you say 19 is a good age and you don't want her to suffer, but the antibiotics might just be enough to see the abscess off. I don't know why it's always weekends these things happen, but hopefully the abscess will burst and in the meantime she's comfortable.

Oma - you're right, it is getting dark early. I took Eva round the block about 6.30, came back and watered a few droopy plants in the front garden and then the pots and hydrangeas in the back, and by the time I'd finished it had gone almost dark, and decidedly chilly.

GM - I hope you're off to somewhere warm, exotic and exciting, or anywhere you will enjoy. Safe journey!

Our house is finally starting to look a bit better. Over the last few weeks it's been very neglected and I haven't had the get up and go to get it sorted, but I've tackled the worst of it now, thanks goodness - oh apart from the most gigantic pile of ironing. I'll start on that tomorrow afternoon. I've only got the GDs for the morning because they're going away for a couple of days - a trip to Legoland, including staying in the Legoland hotel. Cooper will be having his holiday here with us! Look out Eva!!

Our schools are back tomorrow, GS1 wife has to go in for 2 days before she starts her maternity leave. Made the family an apple crumble, we have a lot of cooking apples on the tree but no Brambly apples, in fact the tree looks a bit sick. GGS came rushing in earlier naked except for a pair of Wellington boots, his mother in hot persute to get him in the bath.

Good evening all, I see we have a new chat box !

Gem I hope kitty soon recovers , as you say 19 is a good age for a cat .
Our cat always has health issues at a weekend or bank holiday. Vets charge a huge amount for an emergency don’t they. They know we won’t let our pets suffer over a weekend. You never see a poor vet do you .

Enfys welcome home, hopefully your time away will have given P extra energy to cope with the next round of chemo and fingers crossed he has no horrible side effects.

It’s been another busy day for me , I managed to get into the garden and cut down the sea holly that is destined to be dug up and planted right at the back of the garden, it brings the bees and butterflies into the garden but by heck it don’t half hurt if you happen to brush up against it.
We were going to have a salad for lunch but when I got it out of the fridge the lettuce, spring onions and cucumber were frozen . I cleaned the fridge out changed the temperature and fingers crossed it will be ok . As it was only the salad drawer that was frozen over I’m hoping it’s just a ‘blip’ and not the compressor slowly dying. I can see the £££££ signs mounting up before my very eyes ☹️😳

Well ladies I will bid you all a goodnight on this our nice new chat box

              Good morning everyone .

Little GGS sounds very cute Plant!
Mimi that happened to us recently, salad stuff frozen. I turned the dial down and it's been ok since.
Oma I'm glad you feel much better
              Happy holidays Grauntie!
Sunny here too Nan2, long may it last.

GS2 and GD day today. We are going to a little petting zoo type farm with play area today.
I need to get the cat to the vets too, later in the day
This morning she seems much better. There was blood on her favourite blanket, so there must have been some sort of drainage of the abscess. She seemed perkier and ate some food and drank, and had peed in the litter tray twice. All encouraging. We'll see how she goes today and what the vet says. She had a one day shot of antibiotic last night, so needs more later today.

              Have a good day everyone.

                  Morning all.

Oma I’m glad the hip is easier and let you get some rest.

Gem no wonder your little cat wasn’t eating with what must have been a very painful mouth. It sounds as if the antibiotics are starting to do their job. A wonderful drug when used appropriately. Your day out sounds a lovely way to round off the holidays.

Enfys ,glad you’re home safely and really hope P has an easier time with the chemo this time.

I just realised that because OH had his diabetic pills increased at the last nurse check up we have nearly run out .We both have six months worth of scripts at the chemist and the increase was after the scripts had been handed in.Our last prescription was the last one of the six. On the off chance I rang for an appointment at the doctors to see if I could get one this week to get our next batch and was lucky to get in tomorrow afternoon. Our surgery has got things right with open surgery on three mornings and appointments in the afternoons.I could have sat it out in open surgery but so much better to get an appointment.I realise we are very lucky compared to most

I hope for a good day for all.

                    Good moaning each.
Gem, I am sorry to hear about puss. I hope she continues to improve. Daisy, I hope you have a good play to listen to whilst you iron. BBC IPlayer has some good dramas just now.
Enfys, fingers crossed for P’s next round of chemo, it’s good he is in good shape before it starts.
Mimi, I hope your fridge is doing it’s proper thing now. So annoying!
Nanto, the thought of losing an hour of sunlight fills me with the horrors.
Oma, what a relief to be free of pain, take it easy.
Plant, the vision of the streaker in wellies made me smile.
Clover you are indeed lucky. We can’t even get through on the phone these days.
We are going to Suffolk, the weather looks as if it will be ok. Haven’t packed a thing yet, better get moving...
                    Have a good day ladies.

Have fun in sunny Sussex Grauntie.
Clover your surgery arrangement sounds a lot better than most. I'm glad you got an appointment.

Little cat has eaten a lot today to make up for her nil by mouth day yesterday. Speaking of appointments, in the end I got into the car and went to the vets to make an appointment, having tried on and off for about 45 minutes to get through on the phone. We have a 5.40 appointment.

                        Good afternoon all.
So far so good with the fridge malarkey. Gas man came this morning to service the gas boiler so we are all set ready for winter .
DS came up for lunch and he was a little annoyed to find that his card was declined when he tried to do some shopping ,he rang his bank and some miserable low life had managed to clone it. The amount they had taken was only about £14 but that’s besides the point. Anyway the bank has stopped his card and they have sent a new one in the post for him .
On a plus side though, yesterday he went around to younger DS and DIL to post a wedding anniversary card through their door , DIL saw him and made him go in for a cup of coffee, a bacon sandwich and a chat. It’s so different from last year when tow DS’s wouldn’t even be in the same room together.

Gem good to see that that kitty is improving.

Plant your streaker reminds me back many years ago a neighbour from down the road was in a panic, she was just about to put he son ( he was about 4) into the bath, turned her back for a moment and he was gone.
Mum sent me and my sister out to look for him along with several-other mums and children. He was found just after a few mins, naked , pushing a toy wheelbarrow and singing on the top of his voice . He must be in his 50s now, hope he no longer does that sort of thing 😳

Good heavens Clover how on earth did you manage to get your drs receptionist to answer the phone, you really must share your secret.

Now I hate to part with this bit of news but I feel, as you are all grown up, intelligent ladies there is no need to keep you shielded from this........
When doing my on line Tesco shopping I couldn’t help but notice that they have got....brace yourselves.... mince pies and big tins of Roses and Quality Street chocolates in store !
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Gem, also good to hear kitty has been feeding and drinking.
                          Clover,lucky you getting the appointment.

Oma - so pleased you're feeling better - just don't overdo things!!

Grauntie - I'm sure Sussex will put on its sunniest face for you. Have a lovely time.

Mimi - you must be so pleased and relieved that the Boys' War seems to have ended in a peace treaty. xx Thank goodness your DS realised his card had been cloned before anything more was taken out.

Clover - what a good job you realised about the diabetes pills for G, and well done to your surgery for being so efficient.

Sometimes our fridges (we've got 2 - don't ask!) freeze salad and vegetables and it's usually because one of us has accidentally moved the temperature dial getting stuff in or out from the top shelves. It never occurred to me that either of them might be on their last ice crystals even though they're ancient.

                            Enfys - thinking about P - I hope he's ok.

Gem - it's good to hear little kitty is eating again - that's a good sign. I hope you're having a lovely day with the GCs today.

Our GDs were bouncing off the ceiling with excitement this morning. I gave them an early lunch and Mum and Dad got home from work at the planned time, all ready for their trip to Legoland. DIL had made a chart for the girls to mark off the days and GD2 wanted me to watch as she marked today off. They haven't had a proper holiday in years - probably GD2 doesn't even remember the last one. That's the trouble with them both running their own business, it's hard to take time off together, and close the shop. The time when they could take one or even two weeks off is January, but they can't take the girls out of school then. Sometimes good rules can have unintended consequences for some people.

Mimi - I'm shocked to my core! I can see we'll have to tighten up the swear filter on GRU - it IS only the very, very beginning of September! We don't need to use such words for another three months at least!
