I thought you would get a refund Nan2, I know Tesco always do. I'm glad all OK with the in laws.
Enfys, I agree its good for OH to go to his group, you can celebrate any time
That's an offer you can't refuse Daisy!

I did a big shop at Aldi, and nipped into Tesco for the yogurty chicken sachets for the convalescent cat!

        Good afternoon all.
We have spent most of the day in town, it’s not that we have lots of shops to browse in, our town is like most others I suppose, more empty shops than up and running shops. I brought some miniature daffs to put in the blue pots my neighbour gave me and some mixed hyacinths to go in the wooden wheelbarrow on the patio.
I was fortunate to find a pair of trousers from the last shop I went into , we did the usual Debenhams, M and S, Monsoon etc, but I couldn’t see anything suitable As I went into Bonmarch I didn’t think for one moment that I would find anything there but I was surprised, how it’s changed. I have to be honest Bonmarch was a shop I hardly ever went into.
The last time I brought anything from there was over 10 years ago and that was just for some white tops for work. I have brought a pair of black ‘ floaty ‘ trousers. They are simple pull on ones , but the material is rather silky, they don’t have a crease down the front so they don’t look like work trousers and all for the price of £15 !
Talking of M and S , it’s easy to see why they are in financial trouble, the clothes in there are so dull, lots of browns and blacks and rather expensive considering the clothes look so tatty .

Enfys you can celebrate another day, it’s good to see that P is going to his men’s shed meeting

        Have a good evening all
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Mimi, Oma and I are Bon Marche fans, and the trouser lengths suit shorties
As OH and I came down the escalator at our M&S last week, I commented on the array of utterly dismal and horrendous dresses in front of us!

Nice and sunny, but a chill in the air.

Mimi, i'm another fan of Bon Marche. Always buy trousers there,as i don't have to shorten them.
M & S clothes always look dark and dowdy to me.

            Nothing special happening today.
First job on my list is ironing.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Sunny and chilly here too Nan2.
Library group meeting this morning. I must remember to take my insulated coffee cup. We generally meet in Costa's free meeting room. We buy a drink as a courtesy for the use of the room, and because most of us want one! If I take my own cup there is 25 pence off, and more importantly it stays hot! Often by the time we had set up the tables etc my coffee was cold in their cups. It took me about 2 years to work this one out

Mum's shopping and visiting her this afternoon. Her kitchen window needs washing so I will do that and maybe a couple of other jobs.

              Have a good day everyone.

Aqua for me this morning, I might pop to see the family in their new house. Starting to think what I need to pack for my holiday and make sure they are clean ready to go into the case on Sat.

I agree about M&S, their clothes have been awful for some time, I did buy some vest tops to go under blouses recently, just navy and black. I don't know who they are catering for certainly not for the young and definitely not for mature lady, very sad.I think their underwear is still good.

Good idea to take your own insulated cup Gemini. Hope the meeting goes well.

Well done Mimi for finding those trousers, must look have a look at Bon Marche.

                  Good moaning from Suffolk!,
Bright and breezy here, I was first up closely followed by my pal. We made a cuppa, he took theirs back to bed but I’m up! Minsmere bird sanctuary today, it’s a lovely place to go.
Have a good day ladies, don’t over do it!

Good morning everyone - another sunny start to the day for us.

Enfys - enjoy your anniversary celebration today - I agree about keeping up with social activities and P enjoys his Men's Shed, doesn't he. Fifty-four years - wow, congratulations. xxx Poor Dexter - but it it funny watching them adapting so they can carry on playing.

Mimi - thank goodness you find the right pair of trousers just in time. I agree about M&S - dark, dreary or bright orange or lime green - not colours which suit most women.

Nanto - it's good to get that ironing over and done with - I wish I had!!

Gem - what's happening with your Library - have you got a permanent home yet? Good idea about the insulated coffee mugs. I don't suppose you fancy giving our windows as going over as well, do you?

Plant - it will be lovely to see the family settling into their new home. I wonder if GGS likes his new bedroom? Yes, definitely time to start packing.

Grauntie - enjoy your day out at the bird sanctuary. We can never go to these sorts of places when we go away in the caravan. For some reason they're not too keen on dogs!!!

I can see why I never get things done at home. OH offered to make chutney, so I checked we'd got all the ingredients. We hadn't, so he said he might as well do the shopping while he's out. But it was too early to shop for the week ahead (we've got visitors arriving on Saturday). So he decided he'd go today, but I haven't planned meals yet! I still haven't! But I need to get that list done. And while I was searching in my little herbs and spices cupboard I thought I might as well tidy it up. Then a friend called round about objecting to a planning application in the village. Then DS2 arrived back from Legoland, but DIL had gone straight to bed with a migraine, so I said I'd take Cooper back. Then I came home, cooked a vegetable curry for dinner and still haven't finished the wretched shopping list!!

Chutney making starts when OH gets back from the supermarket, but he's not up yet!! Hey ho!

Ive stripped the beds they are washed and last cover drying in the tumble ,

One of my friends came round for lunch today. As it was a pleasant afternoon we decided to walk into the village for a coffee.
We didn’t get very far because there was a poorly looking hedgehog on the front lawn. He/she kept flinching and twitching. I knew it shouldn’t be out and about in the middle of the day, being a nocturnal animal. I gave him/her a saucer of water which he drank enthusiastically. I phoned the vet for advice as the hedgehog seemed to be struggling to walk. It appeared to have only three legs. We took the little creature to the vets for examination. They said they would let me know of the outcome. Unfortunately, when I spoke to the vets later on, they said the hedgehog had fly strike and a badly injured leg, so they had to put him down. It was really sad. The vet’s receptionist seemed really kind. She thanked me for bringing him in and said he was no longer in pain or discomfort. She was so lovely, she couldn’t have been more kind if I had brought in a sick family pet. It is so lovely when people go above and beyond their work. It is really heartwarming. Poor little hedgehog. Thankyou to the vet.

Sunshine that's really sad, but so kind of you to take him to the vet so he's not suffering any more.

                            I agree it's chilly Nan2. I'm off to bed I'm so cold!
                            Night everyone

Sunshine - how kind of you to take the poor little hedgehog to the vets. What a pity they couldn't save him, but much better than letting him suffer, poor little thing. I was in our vets one day when two ladies brought in a cat who'd been hit by a car. When I rang up later to ask how he was the receptionist said they'd had 3 road casualties brought in that day.

It's been sunny here but a bit chilly in the breeze.

The chutney did get made - about 20 jars, I think. I'll find out for sure when I have to write the labels! The house smells like the Branston Pickle factory.

OH went and did the shopping this morning as well!

I also had a productive day, just call me the domestic goddess!! I cleaned all the windows inside apart from the dining room. I tackled the Leaning Tower of ironing - just one pair of trousers and two t-shirts left. Mowed and edged the lawn and cooked dinner!

I'm off to bed as well. Night nigh everyone.

Oh poor hedgehog, at least he isn't in pain any more.

GS1 came and fetched their cat, I hope he settles in his new home. GS said GGS didn't want to go to nursery today, he wanted to play with a box of toys that had been in store. I have made them a cottage pie, a plum crumble and a banana cake. I will take them around tomorrow and see their new house.
Lone of my Aqua friends fell in the car park just as I was parking my car, she fell on the side of her head, we just amused ourselves in the pool whilst they tried to contact her family, she finished up in A&E, had a brain scan which was clear and they were going to do an X-ray. she kept insisting she was alright and could drive home as her eye and the side of her face was getting blacker. Unfortunately her OH has dementia and a colostomy bag so she has a lot on her plate. Thank you for asking, I feel sure my infection is getting better.
