Muggy evening here. It’s felt as if it was about to rain but didn’t.The garden could do with a quick soak.

Mimi,I’m just painting the walls of the bedroom. The paint is really drying too quickly but looks okay so far. I’ve got a first coat on the tricky window wall so next session will be the top coat then it’s just one wall left to do ,the largest. As the curtains are down we’ll have to undress in the bathroom. I’d hate to shock my neighbours opposite though I have hung a sheet over the curtain rail I think with the light on we’d be like shadow puppets in silhouette.

This evening the children at the Primary school we back on to were having a party with bouncy castle etc. I was surprised to hear on the radio this morning Zoe Ball give out a message for the school to wish Year 6 a good time on their transition day and for their party.

Off to to bed now to read my book but inevitably I’ll fall asleep and drop the book which wakes me up.

Nighty night ladies. Hope you have a good night .

Clover - well done on getting that tricky wall done. Getting changed in the bathroom sounds a good idea - I think Grans R us neighbours have had enough excitement for one day.

      Sleep well. xx

        Good morning.The sun is shining.

        I slept till 4.30,lounged in bed till 5ish,so i mustn't grumble.

Daisy, the photo is in my media. Look in the section that says 142 photos.

Clover, pleased you got one coat of paint on the tricky wall. just take your time, you will get there.

Speaking of bread that fits in the toaster. I always buy Warburtons bread, and i get the small loaves in the blue wrapper because they fit in the toaster better.

Good morning Nanto, and all who pedal by later. How is your poorly SIL?

We've had a drop of rain overnight - not enough to be useful, but it does feel a bit fresher.

I'm on a mission this morning to get the washing done - one load is in already - so I hope it doesn't rain again. After lunch we're going to collect my new car - and with the Friday night traffic I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to admire it while we're sitting in the jams.

Clover - I hope the painting goes well today.

Why don't you put the bread under the grill Daisy! I bet you are excited about collecting your new car today, take care in the heavy traffic.

Sunny here atm, I gave the garden a good watering yesterday evening. Hairdresser this morning and practice nurse this afternoon to remove the stitches. will need to pop to the shops, don't need much as I am off on holiday to sunny Yorkshire.

That was an amazing amount of water Oma, quite frightening really.

Well done Clover, take it easy you will get there in the end. I am hopeless at decorating, get more on me than on the walls.

For those of you not on FB, Zizi has been offered a job which will suit her fine, she is very happy about it as the hours are flexible and it will fit in with her OH's hours better. So pleased for her.

Plant - incredibly, our grill will only do one slice at a time - and I always burn it. (I can hear Oma snorting with laughter from here after my pyrotechnic tomatoes.) We've got a 4 slice toaster so I can at least do two slices at a time.

Are you looking forward to your holiday? Silly question!! I hope the stitches come out smoothly.

Zizi's job sounds interesting - I do wish she'd come and tell us about it on here so we can all congratulate her.

                Good morning all

Nan2 are you and hubby riding tandem today?!
                Happy New Car Day Daisy
Almost holiday time Plant. The forecast is good temperature wise when you are here, with a few showers and a possible thunderstorm Bring your umbrella!
Very pleased about Zizi's new job.
Clover I often fall asleep reading. I used to drop my Kindle and wake up. Then I got new cover with stand. I stand it sideways on my bedside table. When I fall asleep no dropping and the Kindle switches itself off after a few minutes. I wake up later to a dark Kindle and my reading glasses on, so I know I have fallen asleep reading
Mimi, moths are my fear, I would have been screaming very loudly!!!
Oma, yes you spoke too soon about your MIL bring so much better!

My mum was moody again after seeing her friend yesterday. Not quite as bad I would say. Once back at hers I busied myself with watering things and putting her wheelie bin out. Then I left as I had some food in my car which would suffer from the heat
It was very hot yesterday. When she is in that mood she doesn't really want you there anyway, so it was best for us both!

Today we are going to GD's school fair on the field. Always a good affair and popular. DD2 is vice chair of the PTA and very involved. I have offered to be a Floater, so it any stall is unmanned I can cover. They have rotas for everything, so you never have to do your stall for hours, someone will relieve you. I may not have to do anything, but I wanted to offer.

                Have a good Friday everyone.

Oma - I can hear B laughing from here!!!

Happy 4th birthday to Storm! It doesn't seem 4 years since he was wrecking everywhere! The slightly sad thing about a rescue dog like Eva is that we don't know her birthday. We've chosen 1 May for her, but it's not quite the same.

Gem - have a lovely time at GD's school fair. I hope they raise lots of money - schools need every penny these days.

Yes, I'm excited about getting my new car. I'm not particularly looking forward to the drive back - Friday night traffic is stop/start, with the 'start' often being optional. OH is kindly clearing out my old car - how does so much stuff end up in your car! I can hear the hoover going so I'd better go and see how he's getting on and make him a coffee!

Enjoy the new car Daisy. A test drive to Emsworth would be good any time soon.

Sorry your mum was moody with you.
                        Enjoy the school fair.

Daisy, enjoy driving your new car.
Sister in law is getting there. Not 100% but a lot better than she was.

Can't believe Storm is 4 years old.
Yes Oma, been to in laws.

Plant - I'm sure you feel much better for having those stitches out, and can now get into holiday mode ready for Monday! What part of Yorkshire are you visiting?

                              Sunshine - it's a date!

I'm relieved to say I got my new Snowman back home safely! I know Basingstoke is famous/infamous for its roundabouts, but until you've navigated them on a Friday rush hour in a totally strange car you haven't lived!!! Then heading into the sun you find out the windscreen and wing mirrors are totally smeared and don't know where the screen washers are. I'll take some photos tomorrow, but I'm very pleased with it.
