      Evening All.
Nanto, thank you for the instruction re. jacket potatoes. I will give it a bash.
Glad you’ve all been busy. Me too. A friend called with three curtains he had bought from The Range. Would I just sew them together please as he wants them for his summer house. Easy peasy I thought. Ha! All different lengths and loose weave fabric you could shoot peas through. That took up most of yesterday. No idea if they fit, haven’t heard! Never again, even though he is my friend. 😆
I have been industrious today as OH has gone on another golfing jolly. Declagged the kettle, cleaned both ovens, made apricot and almond ice cream and puréed apple ready for French apple tart. Done the crossword, had salad for dinner.
Now ready and waiting for a tv feast. Gentleman Jack, Beecham House and The Handmaid’sTale. I will do my best to stay awake!
I hope you are all relaxing too now...

Oma - we have just arrived home from DS1's and OH has forgotten to record Gentleman Jack. He'll have to go through the slow download process to watch it on catch up now!

We got up to DS1's in time for a quick sandwich and a cup of tea and then went to see the car - and gave it a good test drive - and bought it!! We have to go and collect it on Friday afternoon. I'm very pleased with it - it's lovely to drive, quite nippy and <roll of drums> has an opening sunroof. (It doesn't take a lot to make me ecstatically happy!)

Then we went back to DS1's again for a barbecue and obviously to pick up Eva who'd we'd left there. Really tired now so off to bed.

OH has a hospital appointment for his eye at 9.15 tomorrow, so it will be an early start.

Nay lass, I’m a Maid of Kent! Born east of the river Medway. OH is a northern person.
Ooh Daisy, how exciting. A new car! Will you have sat nav and a parking assistant built in? The most modern thing about my car are the indicators. 🙄

Morning Nanto and later arrivals. A very appropriate graphic.

Daisy I’m glad you took the plunge and bought the car. Perhaps we can have a photo when you’ve collected it?

We are an episode behind with Gentleman Jack but have the next one safely on record.

GM that ice cream sounds delicious. I’ve never made ice cream .Do you have a proper machine for it?

Opticians have been nagging me for my two yearly eye test so I gave in and have an appointment this morning.

                Have a good day ladies.

Good morning Nan2, Clover and others.
I hope everyone is well and happy today.

Hooray a new car Daisy! What colour is it?
I bet you are tired Nan2.
We have another Gentleman Jack to watch, and I have at least 3 Handmaid's Tale to catch up with, and Ackley Bridge too. OH doesn't watch HT or AB so I catch up with those when she's not here.

Apart from a reflexology treatment this morning , today is free. I may have to drop my mum's repeat prescription over to here though as it wasn't ready when I called for it yesterday on the way to her house. I will catch up on some TV recordings, whilst OH is playing golf. I will also write on GRU about my holiday

                  Have a good day all.

Good morning, another lovely sunny morning here.

I have come back to earth after a really lovely time with our DS and family. We spent so much time with them, had meals out, went to the beach, just lovely. I really didn’t know what to expect as we haven’t seen DIL and DGS for over 6 years, but it was just like we’d only seen them last week. DIL was so lovely, very kind and caring and I think it did us good to be able to bond again and put that little problem we had a while ago right behind us. DGS has grown so much but we got on so well with him, he’s a really nice lad, very grown up for 12. It was so nice to see him and our other GS getting on so well too. N was really good with him, the age difference (9years) didn’t seem to matter when they were playing football or playing computer games. I think Will will miss N very much. So all in all awonderful visit, I miss them so much already but so grateful they were able to spend time with us. They are now on their way to Italy, going to Rome and Pompeii before the last leg home.

Back to Earth with a bang now, really need to do some housework and back to cooking 🙁. But we have some lovely memories and loads of photos to look at. Have a good day everyone 🌞

Sunny atm and yesterday in spite of the forecast we had a lovely sunny afternoon for the barbecue. It was for GD1's boyfriend's birthday and to invite his family to see where he is living now, they were amazed how cosy the cabin was. His mother, stepfather and grandma came (she is 94). Everyone got on very well, his stepfather is a bit of a joker so kept us all amused. should be bowls this afternoon but I was told not to bend over because of the wound on the side of my forehead, I might give it a go, I could do with the exercise after all the food I consumed yesterday.

New car sounds very exciting Daisy and more suitable for ferrying the dogs around. I can imagine you driving around the forest roads with the roof open.

I watched Gentleman Jack and recorded Beecham House (I am not enjoying it as much as Poldark)

We're back from the hospital. It was very busy this morning - so busy I couldn't actually go into the clinic area with OH. But he was ok. He's resting and dozing on and off now, but feeling well enough to want lunch. We're going to have a sandwich and a hot cross bun to celebrate our wedding anniversary - I think that's the best we can do today.

Plant - glad you had a lovely day yesterday and enjoyed meeting GD1's boyfriend's family. Be careful if you do go to bowls.

Enfys - what a wonderful week you've had, and as you say, lovely memories and photos. I think your post sums your your Dr Seuss quote perfectly. You are an inspiration. xxx

Oma - I'm glad at long last to see the phrase 'a quiet lazy day for me' in your post. Put your feet up and have a Nana nap while you can - tomorrow you'll be able to stretch out on your lovely new sosfa!

Clover - I've made ice cream without a machine thingy - it's a bit tedious because you have to let it part freeze and then beat it all up again - it was ages ago so I can't remember the precise process.

Gem - I bet you enjoyed your reflexology treatment. It sounds as though you've still got quite a bit of tv to catch up on, and I look forward to hearing all about your holiday.

GM, Maid of Kent! - I think you're bound to pick up phrases and sayings from your other half when you come from different places. After all, eventually you need to understand what the other one is going on about!

I haven't got any photos of my new wheels yet, but it's a Skoda Yeti. It looks a bit like a van with windows, and mine is a rather unattractive shade of metallic brown. But you can't see the colour when your driving it, and it's got everything else I wanted, including the opening sunroof. It's fun to drive and I've got the 4x4 version which will be great in the Forest in the bad weather.

Afternoon all last pick up of g/d mum and dad will be here to pick her up about 6 😀 actually she’s been really good just one talking to ,but I am surprised how a child who is 9 in a couple of weeks can still leave sticky finger prints , I know it’s her it’s her height and hand size lol, so been cleaning glass this morning but its way too hot now to do anything.
Number one twin has impetigo he’s been to the docs today but hopefully nipped it in the bud, it’s contagious, googled it and if the antibiotic cream which is applied 3 times a day starts working and he has a plaster on he may be going to school tomorrow its his chin area , I havnt seen it but mum says its quite sore 😷, so we could be having a patient for a couple of days.
Oma the neck still seems to be bothering you . LAZY DAY I’ve just had to pick myself up off the floor ,don’t give me shocks like that 🥴
Plant sounds like you had a lovely day with a new family , should you buy a hat yet !!!
Daisy at last you have the car of your dreams , you need to grow your hair long so when the sunroof open your hair will fly out 😂
Enfys pleased you had an amazing time just what you need at the moment, lifts your spirits up doesn't it .

That was some BBQ at your's yesterday Plant......we could see the smoke from the end of the road as we went past on our way to the Old Queen's head for lunch ! You did have alovley afternoon for it though! Hope your eye is less painful now and all the wounds are healing nicely.

Lovely day here now and I need to strip bed and clean under it because our new mattress is arriving tomorrow.

Opened our back door to find a bat lying on the mat! Can anyone tell me how a bat might have got under the back door when everything has been locked up ?

LG/Enfys, sounds like a lovely time was had by you both with your respective families.

Qwerty, impitigo is very infectious. I remember when they used to use gentian violet to treat it. Showing my age now!!!

Good to spend a short time with DD and family. Luckily, her butcher opens on a Monday morning so we have stocked up with some goodies. Everything in the shop looks appetising and the staff are lovely too.

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies whatever you're up to. xx

I can remember DS1 having impetigo when he was about 10. Took ages to clear up.
