No Nana nap Qwerty we have company coming

Went to Debenhams this morning didn't know they had a sale on , bought two lovely Bras got the two for £8 each they had 70% off what a bargain , tried on a lovely dress but it was too big and they didn't have a smaller one in so I bought a cardigan instead ,

I then went into Boots as DD had bought me a boots voucher for my birthday and Le'oral had 3 for 2 offer on so bought some stuff from there . a good productive shopping experience today

Grauntie and Daisy. Jacket potatoes in the slow cooker.

I suppose everyone has their own way of doing these in the slow cooker, but this is my method.

Scrub the potatoes and prick with a fork.Wrap them in foil and put in slow cooker.
How long they take, will depend on size. I put mine in at 7am this morning on high. I always test to see if they are cooked with a skewer.
Took mine out at 1pm, although they were done before then. and put them in a hot oven (open the foil)on a baking tray for 10 minutes to crisp up.
Sometimes the potato seems to absorb a bit of colour from the skin, but this doen't affect the taste.

This is also in the recipe section.

Today,we had them with seafood cocktail and coleslaw.
Hubby's favourite is cheese and beans.
I like them with prawn cocktail.

Having a lovely visit with DS and family. Spent the day with them today, nice pub lunch, weather gorgeous so we sat out in the garden to eat. Plans made for the rest of the week, it’s so lovely to be able to,spend time with them. I have put some pics on my media if you fancy a peek.

          Hello everyone!
We are safely back home, and have the first washload on the line Lovely to come home to such beautiful weather.

I have a lot of catching up to do around the forum, as I merely skipped through when I was away. There was a lot I didn't read, and some I read but didn't respond to. I will write about my holiday too. All over the next few days.

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the good weather .

                Welcome home Gem.

Oma, pleased you had a lovely afternoon.

Our evening got spoilt.Well it did for me.
Hubby was upstairs on the computer,i was in the conservatory watching tv.
Neighbours next door but one, have got a hot tub in the back garden.
They had friends round, and have been drinking all afternoon.
I made us a cuppa and a sandwich about 7ish, and we sat on the patio with it.
Well you could here quite a few of them throwing up(sorry if thats too much information).
Put me off my food, and it takes a lot to do that.
Plus their language is awful, even the ladies. They don't talk, they shout.
Hubby wanted to go round and ask them to curb their language, but i persuaded him not to.
I was worried they might turn on him.
All gone quiet now, probably all sleeping it off.

Sorry for the moan, but i feel better for getting it off my chest.

Nanto - the next-door-but-one neighbours sounds awful. I think you were right to stop your OH going round. I suppose most people have a bit of a party sometimes, but if it was happened every day it really would be a problem. I'm having a love-hate relationship with various neighbours' barbecues at the moment. Sometimes I'm sniffing the air like the Bisto kid and other times the smell is quite nauseous! Thank you for the recipe. It sounds easy enough for me to have a got at that! When I put them in the oven I tend to forget about them.

Oma - glad you had a lovely afternoon. I do hope you get more sleep tonight though - you must be exhausted. You did well with your Debenham bargains!

Grauntie - you have been a busy sewing bee! I've got a 'roll' for make up brushes which is really useful for holidays. Your bags sound interesting - you can use so many different designs and patterns. Mind you, I wouldn't know where to start! I hope it isn't actually gout in your toe - it can get very painful.

Qwerty - I hope your DD is having a good birthday. It's funny how our children's birthday always take us back to That Day, isn't it. I hope your super-busy week is going ok.

Gem - so pleased to hear you're safely home. It sounds as though reality has hit quickly with washing on the line already!

Ooo - forgot to say, we had a lovely lunch at Limewood today. It was warm enough to sit outside, but not too hot - just perfect! The food was amazing and even though portions look fairly small I was struggling to finish my main course, and neither of us felt like any tea tonight.

When we got back I was going to read in the garden for a while, but I went to get my Kindle and the bed looked so inviting I was lying down and fast asleep before I knew it! We took Eva to the paddock for a run when it got a bit cooler, and I actually watered the front garden tonight. Ready for bed now!!

Good morning everyone. I seem to be the first one here this morning.

It's another bright, sunny day - I love this weather. My car's going in for servicing and MOT (wish it luck!) so it's a day about the house and garden for me. Plenty to do, so I'll see how the day goes.

                      I hope everyone's ok.

Good morning Daisy, and everyone else. Admin are on the ball today, Go Us!

The sunny weather when we got back was too good to resist getting a wash on right away Load 2 is in now.

A car related morning for us too. OH's car is going to have it's air con looked at. It costs a lot to have her model regassed and since she had it done last summer it has hardly worked. Fingers crossed for your MOT Daisy.
Back to routine for me. Doing my mum's shopping , visiting her, watering her pots etc. We need some shopping too. Fruit, veg, salad etc so I think we will do that and mums when we are taking the car in this morning. Then I can just take Mum's over this afternoon.

                        Have a good one everyone.

                          Morning Daisy and everyone.

                          Yes another lovely day.
A shame to be indoors but we are planning to go to the cinema to see “Toy Story 4”. A strange choice for oldies like us but everyone thinks it’s a must-see .

I hope you all had a good night and enjoy the day.

Just seen you Gem,good morning to you.

Not silly at all to see Toy Story 4 Clover! I hope you enjoy it.
Days with no plans are nice Nan2

OH's air con is working now. We did our shopping and mum's, and the second washload of the day is in now.
It is so much nicer coming home to summer weather! For the practical fact of getting all the holiday washing done and out of the way, but mainly because coming back to gloom is horrible!

Off to colour my hair now, and do some unpacking while it is drying.
