A very late 'hello' from me. We are back online, but only after spending hours and hours getting very frustrated with TalkTalk! It's slightly irritating when you spend an hour getting the appropriate phone number, and then they say contact us online! It feels a bit like the song "There's a hole in my bucket" only it's "There's no Broad Band on our line".

It's still slow and below the 'expected' speed, but at least I've been able to read emails etc. So now I have a huge backlog of GRU posts to catch up with, which I'll try and do in the morning before the new sofa arrives.

Daisy,it must be so frustrating for you with the broadband problems.

Nephew coming this morning. He's going to decorate the downstairs loo and back porch.
So, we've just been clearing things out.

Good morning, Nanto, and everyone who pops in later.

Our broadband is up and strolling gently (I can't say it's "up and running"!) I spent about 4 hours on to Talk Talk yesterday and I can at least now get to my emails etc. I just hope things improve when the Fibre optic to the Cabinet goes live, but I'm not holding my breath.

But, more cheerfully - our new sofa and chairs arrive this afternoon, so I've got this morning to give the living room a good spring clean in their honour, in between having visitors.

Nanto - what a lovely nephew, coming to do some painting for you.

I've woken up with a sort of migraine - lots of flashing lights but no headache to speak of. Reading the computer screen isn't helping, so I'll go for a shower and get on with the Spring Clean.

Nanto lucky you having your nephew helping you out with the decorating. He wouldn’t like a nice trip to Wales with a bit of decorating thrown in by any chance would he? I’d be delighted to see him.

Last night we went to see GD in her school production of “ We will rock you” Lucy played Killer Queen and though I may be a little bit biased she was amazing,very confident with a lovely voice( boast,boast) The whole show was excellent.Everyone had worked so hard.

Today DD has gone off to play badminton so OH and I will go for a walk.DD wants me to deliver a birthday card,but this is non too familiar territory I hope I find the right house !

I hope Enfys has a chance to relax a bit in Devon.

Whatever your plans for the day I hope they all work out successfully.

Lovely to have a nephew Nanto, to do some decorating for you. My nephew also comes and does some jobs for me. He earns some extra spending money and I enjoy his company. He came last week to trim up some bushes in the garden but got rained off. We just had a lovely catch up instead.
I hope your head feels better soon Daisy. Don’t overdo it. Have a quick whizz round with the vacuum cleaner and then sit on your new sofa and relax. I hope your son has a lovely birthday, my daughter too. Did you manage to book your room for our weekend away yet?
Clover, your GD sounds amazing. It is so lovely so see them doing well and enjoy their success. Enjoy your walk, nice day for it.

Been to Morrisons and Aldi , need ice cubes and neither had any in , I hate filling ice cube tray so buying a bag for 89p is much easier , have to go to our shopping centre after lunch so will pop into Iceland ,

Seen Diabetic nurse yesterday , numbers have came down a lot so very pleased but when I went to Parathyroid consultant last week my BP was very high he thinks my BP meds are not working anymore I have been on them years so he asked my Dr to change them to another kind and nurse wrote a prescription out for me save making a Dr's appointment , she did take my BP again and although still slightly high it was a lot lower than last week .

Its dull and cold here doesn't look like lifting either .

Sorry my contribution is going to be a bit small, my eye is really causing me a problem. Hope the doctor can sort something out on Friday. Thought yesterday I would phone for an emergency appt. this morning but didn't wake up before 9.45, at least it doesn't stop me sleeping, it is like a rock in my eye immediately I open it and then gets very sore during the day until I have to sit with it closed. Spoke to my sister yesterday and she has a problem with eyelashes turning in and scratching the eyeball so has to have them removed, I am going to mention that to the doctor. Friday afternoon seems a long way off to put up with what feels like a rock in my eye.

Pleased to hear the results from the diabetic nurse were good Oma.

Hope your flashing lights clear up Daisy enough to enjoy your new furniture.

You are sounding much brighter Clover, enjoying being with the family, hope G is too. Your GD sounds very talented.

I must go and have a shower and get dressed, might attempt the games later. Have a good day everyone.

Plant, your eye sounds very painful. Hope the Dr can sort it for you.

Just got back from in laws,decorating is well under way now.

Our nephew has been a painter and decorator for years.
Unfortunately he's not working now, but still does it for family.
He can only do emulsioning now, can't do gloss,so hubby will do that.
Nephew has Cystic Fibrosis, and gloss paint makes it worse.
He always says oh i don't want paying,but we wouldn't dream of letting him do it for nothing.

Oh Plant that doesn't sound good at all you must be so sick of it , seeing and reading even watching TV must be difficult and giving you a headache ,
Maybe Dr will give you drops to sooth it at least , xxx

Nanto although he doesn't want paying I bet a little bit of money will come in hand if he's not working now,
He's doing well still being active with CF well done to him x

Still very warm and humid here. We have been packing for our little jaunt tomorrow. It is a posh hotel and DH has to take a jacket and tie for dinner...he’s none too pleased about that but we can always go in the less formal restaurant if we want. It would be nice to dress up though, he looks so smart when he bothers 😃

I have made a cake this morning, to use up some dodgy bananas and now we are dog sitting. He doesn’t take too much looking after now, especially in this hot weather. Spends most of his time sleeping or lying on the tiles to keep cool. We did buy a kiddies paddling pool for him so might get that filled up later.

Plant, you eye sounds very painful, hope you can get it sorted out. Shame you have to wait until Friday though.

Nice to dress up now and again Enfys Storm doesn't like the heat either he sleeps a lot and moves to different areas to find the coolest spot .
We bought him a paddling pool last year and he sat looking at it like it was a fire pit eventually went in but his face at first was a picture of disgust

Phoned surgery this morning they suggested I went to minor injuries surgery at the hospital. I was there from12.30, was seen at 3.oo, fire alarm went off during my visit, we all had to go into the car park for about half an hour, it was burnt toast in the ward above. That happened in a hospital my OH was in, perhaps they should remove toasters from hospital wards. Well she gave my eye a thorough examination and said I had a scratch on my eyeball, possibly from dry eyes. I now have an antibiotic eye cream so hoping for an improvement soon.

Our local hospital doesn’t have toasters on the wards any more because of exactly what happened to you. So if you want toast it has t come from the kitchens and it’s cold and,soggy by the time you get it.
