Just been out to deliver some cards and had a little detour on the way back. It’s a lovely morning, not cold so a little walk was really nice. I feel so out of condition so really must try and walk every day.

I want to have a good tidy up today, have lots of stuff for the charity shop and really need to sort out all my crafty bits and pieces.

I expect the Advent Calendar has been done now but I will check.
Very sunny but frosty here today. I made pastry for mince pies yesterday, it has been resting in the fridge so I must turn it into mince pies today. We are going out to lunch later, sil is will be picking up his mother to come too.

Most presents are wrapped. For some reason I ran out of steam (and wanted my lunch ) before SIL2's was done! I will do it later.
I wrote the non Christmas December cards - DD2's anniversary and aunties 90th birthday. Just one more to write, for my friend, on the arrival of her first grandchild. I know she is a girl and even her name but dare not tempt fate by writing it until I hear she is safely here. She was due last week.
Off to auntie's then mum's soon.

All done. Tree and decorations done. I ended up buying 5 boxes of chocolates in the supermarket yesterday, so they have been wrapped.

Much better day weatherwise. Not been as cold,and it's dry and sunny.

A late Good afternoon.

Chore day here. Walk this morning followed by making Victoria sponge and rock cakes. Then I washed and cut OH’s hair. I washed up a pile of things that seemed to have multiplied when I turned my back.Lunch was next. I finished some sewing and unpicked some trouser hems ready to shorten them for OH. Changed bedding and wrote a Christmas card I had forgotten. Sitting now for a few minutes before my weekly phone chat with my sister.

Hope you are all are having a good day now the weather has calmed down a bit though It’s raining here now.

Busy day Clover!

We had a lovely visit to auntie. Then OH came home and I went to mums, to have a not so good visit, but never mind. I'm home now!

Qwerty - that is annoying!


It's a hive of activity among us grannies! I've had a productive day. I've been ironing on and off all day - curtains and bedding mainly. The beds are ready for the GSs on Saturday. I've just got to do the spare bed for Boxing Day now. I temporarily tacked the new bathroom curtains as I hadn't got time to unpick the lining and do the job properly. So they've got rather a large hem loosely tacked up and I'll do them after Christmas. But they're up for now and don't look too bad. We put pictures back up in the hall and on the landing. As you can imagine, there was much discussion about what goes where. OH would have just put them where they were, which was very haphazard as he sneaks more pictures up when I'm out. We've moved some round and I think they look better. We took Eva to the paddock for a run round, a friend called round for coffee, we've got the tree and decorations down from the loft ready to put up, and I made a mackerel and mushroom frittata for dinner.

It's an early start for us tomorrow for the hospital, so I may not get on here till later.

Wrote cards today & got them posted. Top lip full of cold sores 😟 I'll pop back on here tomoro if I can. I have to go into town to get stocking fillers & last couple of gifts.

Morning ladies didn’t get back to post yesterday ,too much ch coughing wore me out and my OH says the cough is identical to the one I had for 3 yrs I really hope it isn’t.
I am out for girlfriends lunch today and as much as I enjoy their company I bope I’m not late home , I have another one tomorrow

Who knows with my mum Daisy? She has always been like this. Sometimes she just likes to moan and almost pick a fight.
She spent much of yesterday moaning about how much money she is spending over Christmas. Bear in mind she contributes nothing to Christmas Day or Boxing Day and I supply her Christmas cake. The presents I get on her behalf are not lavish at all. She complained about the books I got for her GGC being too expensive (£10 each child) I said next year she should put cash in their cards. She will choose the amount and it saves me some shopping!
She has more income than OH and I btw and we have to run two cars, feed 3 cats, and spend plenty on presents!
I think I felt worse as I had to tear myself away from aunties, where I was having a nice time, to go to mums and came out stressed. She was not much fun on Thursday when she came for tea. It doesn't bode well for Christmas Day with just the 3 of us
I will stop moaning now!

OH bless her, is going to the post office for me this morning. Mum gave me 2 parcels and DD3's card (No chance that will get to Canada on time) I'm sure it will be busy.
I am meeting a friend in town for lunch, our annual meet up. From there to my only regular client now. It used to be quite exciting finishing work for Christmas, but now work is a very small amount of my time, it's not LOL.

B has what looks like a large cold sore on the middle of his top lip , but its not its a BURN

Taking sweet mince pies out of the oven went to sniff them and some hot mince spurted out and caught his lip , well its like molten sugar when its hot

Not doing much today , dog in garden chasing a very cheeky Squirell that keeps running over the fence teasing him , B pottering in the shed and im on hear
