I've been meeting myself coming back today 😲🙄
I have just had a double gin and ginger ale and feel more relaxed.
Auntie was OK thanks Daisy. She definitely has a touch of cabin fever now though, with not having gone out at all for weeks . Her son will be there next Tuesday and staying over Christmas. I'm hoping they may get her out a bit

You're all so busy. Plant, I would love to meet you too. I'll try my best to get to the next meet up.

I would have liked to have today resting up but OH's not too well (tail end of virus) so I finished off the Christmas tree & decs. I'm sure there's a box missing as I can't find the stockings now. Maybe when I find them there might be the cards in there too.🤣

Tomoro I have the dentist then meet GS2 after school to join him/his class in their lantern walk. Bringing him & his sister back here for a sleepover when it finishes.💕

          Good morning Ladies.
Pretty graphic Nan2. I hope all OK at the clinic.

GS2 today but no GD. It is the Christmas Fair at GD's school after school. DD does a stall and clears away etc, and GD, at 9 can do her own thing there with her friends. I usually take GS along after his nap and look after him until it is all finished. DD said not to bother this year, as he had Santa at his nursery party so doesn't need to see him at the fair and it's a bit boring for him having to wait until everything is cleared away before he can go home. So no school run for me, and no dark drive home afterwards! SIL will collect GS.
Tonight OH and I are going to the golf club quiz and meal so no cooking today.

I hope everyone is well and has a good day.

Good morning, very cold here but we don’t have to go out today so am having a nice relaxing morning, We didn’t go out for lunch yesterday, by the time DD and I got back from the supermarket and had a coffee it was shattered so instead I made a yummy chicken curry at home and it was delicious, just right for a cold day. We had not planned to do any Christmas food shopping but just as we were going in to Asda we both had the idea that we would do as much of it as we could so I ousted the Christmas trolley whilst DD did her usual shop. We managed to get everything we wanted so,she will just pop out for fresh stuff later on. Phew, so glad that’s done. We have decided that this year we are not having a traditional roast dinner but are doing a buffet lunch instead. Really looking forward to it, neither of us can face a huge meal any more so this suits us fine.

Enjoy your Christmassy events ladies, I miss all that now we no longer have school age children in the family. Used to love watching the nativity plays especially in the primary schools. Yesterday we watched a long crocodile of the children from our local primary school going round to the church to practise for something they do there every year. They all looked so sweet in their bright yellow tabards and muffled up in scarves and hats. They were certainly making lots of noise ☺️.

Jack frost has been here this morning but nice and sunny. Off to Waitrose this morning to stock up the fridge and fruit bowl. Had a lovely lunch with my Aqua friends yesterday, they are a grand lot.

Good luck Oma, hope you find something for B.

Christmas fairs, Nativity plays etc., very busy time of the year.

You must have been exhausted Gemini, what a busy day for you.

Qwerty skirt is a mixture fuscia, black, red, purple, and blue in a kind of large check design.....it’s hard to explain! I bought a fuscia cashmere jumper to go with it. Not really for Christmas just Winter in general. I’ve been freshening up two bedrooms today for Christmas visitors.I will bake a cake later as youngest son and gs’s are popping in tomorrow. The other family are coming Sunday for a roast.

Well, I've finally made it on to GRU today!

We decided to go supermarket shopping early - I had in mind leaving at 9, but OH wasn't ready!! Usually it's him waiting for me. But the roads were empty and we were there in 20 minutes, which is very good going. It was really strange - lots of cars in the car park, but the shop wasn't that busy, but then it suddenly seemed very busy and then very quiet again. Like the tide coming in and out, but some aisles were crowded and others deserted. Trying to get a jar of cranberry sauce was worse than the first day of Harrod's sale.

We came away quite a lot poorer, but had got a few alcoholic presents as well as the makings for two huge casseroles for next Sunday and various store cupboard ingredients, nibbles, nuts etc, plus normal weekly things. We went home via DS2's shop to drop some shopping off for them, unpacked the shopping, made and ate lunch, and I promptly fell asleep.

We'd had a very sleepless night. One of the smoke alarms kept going off. I can't reach it, so OH got up to deal with it. It went off several times and in the end I said put a new battery in it or take it out altogether. It took ages to calm Eva down after each time, so I was sound asleep when the alarm went off. I needed my Nana nap.

Lots of little bitty jobs to do tonight - OH is out, so I shall just have mushrooms on toast.

We haven't put things back in the hall yet - the varnish on the bannisters etc is still not quite dry so we don't want to damage it.

Oma - good luck finding something for your OH! Are there any extras or accessories he would like for his 3D printer? Or materials to print with?

Enfys - I agree - there isn't a law making it compulsory to have roast turkey for Christmas dinner. A buffet sounds a lovely idea. It sounds as though you did the same sort of shop as us today.

Nanto - thank goodness your BP was fine. I'm sure you were very relieved. xx I think a lot of us have trouble finding presents, especially for men who've got everything.

Gem, no wonder you enjoyed a large drink after your extra busy day! I hope today has been easier. Your poor Auntie - let's hope it's a bit warmer next week so her son can take her out a bit.

Qwerty - I hope you remembered your hankie for the Nativity play. xx

It's been nithering here today as well, but mostly sunny. I wore the lovely cosy jacket I got in Mountain Warehouse a couple of weeks ago, and it was so snuggly! I was wishing it was ankle length though, as my legs were freezing!
