The story line must have touched many parents. So sad that this is a reflection on real life.
This is a sticky topic.

I am not really enjoying some of the soaps at the moment Eastenders dealt with the loss of a baby very sensitively though and it was researched very well showing the empathy of the nursing profession to its best,I would hate to live in Emmerdale with the amount of plane crashes etc they have and the long and drawn out fiasco of Vals funeral (far too OTT),and Coronation Street area must not have any Police Force as "Nasty Callum" would be behind bars if he lived
in my area,I would love to see a "Situation Comedy" with Roy and Mary running their own cafe though that would be a treat and good light entertainment I find them both so funny to watch.Last edited by Glammanana; 03-09-2015, 08:33 AM.Keep Calm,You're Fabulous

Glamma, watching Emmerdale last night I was thinking how many deaths there had been in the little village over the past year or 2. As you say, you wouldn't want to live there!!
Yes nasty Callum and his despicable little sidekick Gemma (with the eyes too close together) would be sorted out by now anywhere but soapland“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I can see the Christmas cliff hangers developing and it looks like all bad news ..... Again
In Eastenders Stacey is going to go into meltdown now she is off her melds.
Dean will also have a breakdown
In Corrie Hope will also become extremely ill .
Looks like it's all set to be the usual Christmas heartache, again !Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Years ago I used to watch Corrie - and still recognise some of the characters - but in those days there was a lot of northern humour. The 'baddies' got their comeuppance and you could depend on certain characters to deliver the wry, cutting or downright rude remarks - Ena Sharples, Annie Walker, Deirdre's mother, etc. Others were gormless, funny or very serious/pompous. The characters had 'character' and basically stayed the same which gave them a kind of authenticity. Now, as far as I can see one week a character is a baddie and the next a goodie and the viewer doesn't know where they are!
There! I've had my little rant!!!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

I had a similar experience and I must admit I thought about not watching it but my experience was over 35 years ago. There was not the same level of sensitivity i.e. I didn't get any hand prints or anything like that. I was not even given the opportunity for a burial. It meant that I could no longer have children due to the damage done to me (my ex husband had beaten me up) which must have been told to me at the time but I must not have remembered as (now) husband and I considered having a child of our own a long time ago but I was told I wouldn't be able to carry.
I thought the scenes were very well handled and I cried all the way through...............If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

How very sad Zizi xxxxx
I know from my daughters experience that it is handled so well these days. Kind and sensitive staff, a nice homely room like on the programme, little cot, etc and a memory box of hand prints, photos little blanket teddy etc. Things have changed for the better, thank goodness.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Derek Griffiths from Playschool was in Coronation Street last night! Anyone remember him? He was one of my favourite presenters. I knew it was someone I recognised and after a while worked out it was him. I looked at the cast list at the end, to check I was right!“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown
