Gem, I feel the same about child prodigy actors/singers etc. It must make it very difficult for them to form good solid relationships and friends later in life when they haven't had the youthful experiences of making, and sometimes losing friends."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. I wonder how that went down with other brides struggling to buy or make their own bridal gown. I was a bridesmaid in 1958 and I remember someone made me a beautiful dress with a taffeta under layer. Both layers became my “party dresses” until I couldn’t squeeze into them any more. My mum was very lucky. My lovely auntie G and her older sister were brilliant seamstresses, as their mum had been. They made mum's wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses.
