Best was controversially granted an NHS liver transplant in 2002 and died in 2005, aged 59, due to complications from a drug used to prevent the rejection of transplanted organs.

It was so sad that one of the best footballers ever was destroyed by alcohol addiction. So many people tried to help him, but he seemed hell-bent on self-destruction.
