Brighton is our nearest seaside town. Went a few years ago with GD, it is a buzzing place. Make sure you go when they have the nude cyclists riding along the prom. It is a lovely clean place, not a speck of litter. We parked our car in a nearby car park where you can leave it for the duration of your visit. Lovely restaurants and lots of lovely shops. I sound like the Brighton Tourist Board.

Plant - I used to do most of my shopping in Brighton - it is a very entertaining town and nice to have a stroll along the prom when you've finished shopping! It was always a good place to take visitors as well - lots to see and do.
I've never seen the nude cyclists, though - perhaps that's since our time there."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Gem, I left school in 1959! I remember when DS1 was in Middle School he and his best friend were "TV Monitors" and had to take the tv on a trolley and set it up in whichever classroom needed it. They felt very grown up to be trusted with such an expensive piece of kit!! That would have been around 1982!! Perhaps some school were better equipped than others.

Daisy, my primary school was a very small private one. The TV we watched would have been the headmistresses own. She lived on the middle floor, and we watched in her living room. Hence no expense or equipment needed“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Did it feel more like a house or a school?
GS1's secondary school was a small private one in a former house and there were still signs of its origins as a rather grand house, although they had built a new wing for specialist subjects.
