Photographers took to Twitter to complain that their pictures of Arlington Row, in the Cotswold village of Bibury were being 'blighted and photo-bombed' by the bright yellow Vauxhall Corsa that belonged to one of the residents.

Gem - I took one of those photos of Arlington Row with the yellow Corsa. You couldn't avoid getting it in the shot if you wanted to include the very pretty house where it lived.

I spent ages cloning the the car out and replacing it with suitable bushes, etc.

Here is it - in this shot I'd got as little of it in as I could!

That' must have been scary - especially the long sea crossings.

Once cars became faster and roads became more busy it was a certainly and sensible law.

A very telling comment on the seat belt law was my BIL (a maxillofacial surgeon) who said that it would increase their work load because so many people who would have died by being flung through the windscreen will survive with perhaps some facial injuries. (It was before air bags, of course).

Daisy, I remember hearing a surgeon on the radio saying she had lost count of the number of female breast she had repaired due to severe seat belt damage, but she said it was far preferable to the alternative of death due to no seatbelt.

I think it was quite a sea change for a lot of surgeons.

                            2021

The death was announced of Captain Sir Tom Moore. He raised more than £32m for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden before his 100th birthday and was knighted for his fundraising efforts by the Queen at Windsor Castle in July 2020. In December 2020, he took a family holiday to Barbados after British Airways paid for his flight and before the UK government's strict rules on travel came into place. On 31st January 2021, Sir Tom was admitted to Bedford Hospital after testing positive with COVID-19 and being treated for pneumonia. His family said that due to other medication he was receiving for pneumonia, he was unable to be vaccinated.

I know we all felt so sad about this

Gem - he was such an inspiration during those awful days of the first lockdown. Such an amazing gentleman.
