    The lowest ever UK temperature of -27.2°C was recorded at Braemar in Aberdeenshire. This record was equalled, also at Braemar on 10th January 1982. Minus 27°C was also recorded at Altnaharra (Highland) on 30th December 1995.

                London’s famous children’s hospital in Great Ormond Street accepted its first patient, three year-old Eliza Armstrong. It was the first hospital in the English speaking world providing in-patient beds specifically for children.

                      They have so many fixutres now, they'd never complete the programmes of games without playing on a Sunday. There is still a bit of me though that thinks it's a pity Sunday has become much the same as every other day of the week for most of us.
