So difficult with MIL Oma, I really sympathise.

Plant, live in carers definitely work for some people. It's a good way to remain in your own home

Gosh it was even hotter after the storm I think!
I was determined to get my cooling session in the pool so arranged to drop little E at his auntie A's on my way to the pool. She was going to the railways museum with little E and DD3 so was happy to have him until his mummy turned up. When OH is playing golf on Fridays I tend to have to miss my aqua, as they rarely get here by 10.30, enabling me to get to my class. I was determined today!! Being in the water was heavenly.
OH was back from golf (just 9 holes) and took pity on GS2 and me , and drove me to pick him up from school this afternoon . When I told GS2 we were going home in the bigger air-conditioned car he was delighted

Thank you for the kind and caring comments. xxx

Plant, OH and neighbour had a good journey. Quite a lot of the cars at the meet are owned by couples, and at least two have female owners, so very few car widows. They're scattered all over the country, so no idea how they are spending the week-end.

Nanto, it sounds as though it's been another very hot day for you.

Lizzie, let's hope the lift problem has finally been solved. What a lot of confusion about the mattress. At least it was all sorted out eventually.

Oma, I had to smile at the nurse saying your MIL has selective hearing. But, unfortunately she isn't going to change her mind about a live-in carer. Do you think she was genuinely confused about her breakfast and the day/time, or was she steering you away from discussing her care plan?

Gem, you certainly needed your aqua session today in all that heat. I hope Little E, his mummy and his auntie A enjoyed the railway museum. No wonder GS2 was delighted to be travelling in such luxury. I'm glad S was feeling well enough to play golf again today, even if it was 9 holes.

Although it was hot today it was a bit cooler than the last two or three days. We've been downgraded from red warnings to amber. There was also a bit of a breeze. Hopefully it will be cooler tonight as well. I got a bit of housework done and some washing, but otherwise relaxed with a good book.

        Daisy, glad OH arrived safely.

It was hot again yesterday. I thought the storm might have cooled things down a bit, but no.
According to the weather apps it will be a bit cooler today. Hope they are right.

Going into town later, meeting DS2. Taking his birthday presents.
They will be away for his birthday.

          Good morning ladies.

Nan2 that little bear has the right idea!

Daisy, I think all but essential tasks can wait during this hot spell. If this continues it will be 6 am housework only!

Our only plan is to meet a friend at a cafe in the village for coffee this afternoon. She lives in Scarborough now so we don't meet often.

Happy Saturday and keep cool 😎

            Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, a comfortable chair in the garden and a cool drink would suit me nicely if your little bear wants company. Early happy birthday to your DS2.

Gem, yes housework in the heat of the day is a no-no. Enjoy your relaxing day and coffee with your friend this afternoon.

I got up early again and took Eva for her walk. We were back home by 7.30, but it was already quite warm for her. OH seems to be having fun on the car meet up, and the car is behaving well. Another easy day for me.

                Morning ladies my it's hot,
I tried the spare room last night to see if it was any cooler but it wasn't,
I ended up downstairs with the patio doors open till 5 then went back to bed for a hour,

We went to Asda at 8.30 it was 27 degrees already,
It was a effort to walk , B struggled today , he should have used his wheelchair really.
I'm doing nothing today it's just too hot.

This Orchid came from M&S yesterday , a present from Dorothy and James for my birthday ,
It has lots of buds on , once they flower it will be lovely ,
                I'm so lucky 😁

No MILs short term memory is shocking within a hour of eating or someone visiting she has forgotten,
She constantly asks the time and day ,
I suppose being in there it all rolls into one .

Only trouble is I have had to remove the lilly, it's not open yet but I can still smell it 😕
But it hasn't spoilt the rest of them 😁

                        hallo, nice flowers Oma.

We have had a few dark clouds and drops of rain, more forecast for this evening, then it may cool down! We had the fire brigade in the street early morning, part of the huge willow had broken off! I expect because of the draught.

Up to now the lift is working, keeping our fingers crossed.

This is a photo of a house completely burned down, not far from here, the culprit, an illegal fat bike!!!

Lizzie these bikes are dangerous aren't they,
They should be banned but of course they won't.

Oma, what a lovely orchid, and beautiful flowers.

Lizzie, fires and explosions with those bikes and scooters are happening far too often. Fingers crossed for the lift!
