So difficult with MIL Oma, I really sympathise.

Plant, live in carers definitely work for some people. It's a good way to remain in your own home

Gosh it was even hotter after the storm I think!
I was determined to get my cooling session in the pool so arranged to drop little E at his auntie A's on my way to the pool. She was going to the railways museum with little E and DD3 so was happy to have him until his mummy turned up. When OH is playing golf on Fridays I tend to have to miss my aqua, as they rarely get here by 10.30, enabling me to get to my class. I was determined today!! Being in the water was heavenly.
OH was back from golf (just 9 holes) and took pity on GS2 and me , and drove me to pick him up from school this afternoon . When I told GS2 we were going home in the bigger air-conditioned car he was delighted

Thank you for the kind and caring comments. xxx

Plant, OH and neighbour had a good journey. Quite a lot of the cars at the meet are owned by couples, and at least two have female owners, so very few car widows. They're scattered all over the country, so no idea how they are spending the week-end.

Nanto, it sounds as though it's been another very hot day for you.

Lizzie, let's hope the lift problem has finally been solved. What a lot of confusion about the mattress. At least it was all sorted out eventually.

Oma, I had to smile at the nurse saying your MIL has selective hearing. But, unfortunately she isn't going to change her mind about a live-in carer. Do you think she was genuinely confused about her breakfast and the day/time, or was she steering you away from discussing her care plan?

Gem, you certainly needed your aqua session today in all that heat. I hope Little E, his mummy and his auntie A enjoyed the railway museum. No wonder GS2 was delighted to be travelling in such luxury. I'm glad S was feeling well enough to play golf again today, even if it was 9 holes.

Although it was hot today it was a bit cooler than the last two or three days. We've been downgraded from red warnings to amber. There was also a bit of a breeze. Hopefully it will be cooler tonight as well. I got a bit of housework done and some washing, but otherwise relaxed with a good book.
