Enfys, I was thinking today about the hydrangeas. blog-hortensiakrans-1.jpg There is a grower not far from here, they have the largest flowers for the auctions etc, they sell wreaths etc that are made from the flowers, then , when they have stopped flowering the plants are sold locally, I have never been actually but may have a look this year.

      What a pretty wreath.

I love summer Enfys but don't like this uncomfortably hot weather.

Nan2 I felt the same yesterday coming out of the cool of M&S into this hea

Little E is enjoying a cool bath before bed.

            Morning all.

Nan2 we had that storm around 5.30. Very loud thunder. OH and little E slept through it

Tremendous rain again now, we were all watching it from the conservatory. Poppy was in the garden and ran in most unimpressed!

                Morning ladies
We had it as well and big fat rain drops,

It's hospital visiting for us today again,
We have to talk with MIL , The social workers are proposing a live in carer for her so she can stay at home ,
I can tell you now what she will say to that,
She doesn't like them coming in on a morning she isn't going to agree to that.
Plus it will be very expensive and she won't pay for it.
                I'm dreading the conversation today.

B stripped the bed for me that's in the wash ,
I'm having a cup of tea then we will pop to Aldi .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

                  Good Friday morning, everyone.

Nanto, I hope that storm's over now. Has it made things any cooler?

Gem, your OH must sleep quite soundly not to be woken up by the storm. I think children often sleep through all sorts of disturbances. I hope Aqua is refreshing this morning. It's great P, M and Sooty can live alongside each other. It would be awful if they fought. I hope the heavy rain didn't scare Poppy.

Oma, I can imagine your MIL will make it quite clear she won't have live-in carers, and to be honest, I don't blame her, it's not something I would want. I'd rather live in a care/nursing home. I hope it goes better than you think, but I can understand how worried you are.

Enfys, yesterday certainly was a scorcher. I like the summer and normally don't mind the hot weather, but this has been exceptional. We didn't get a thunderstorm though, although I let Eva in the garden about 2.30 and it had been raining. Today should be a bit less extreme (fingers crossed). I'm struggling to keep my hydrangeas watered enough. But they do look nice when they're all in flower.

Plant, I hope your leg is healing well and you can have a smaller dressing. Take care in the heat.

Lizzie, that hydrangea wreath is beautiful. I love the blend of colours.

I had another early start and took Eva for a walk about 6 am. It was still quite warm, but ok in the Forest with lots of greenery to make it feel a bit cooler. OH and our neighbour have set off in the kit car for their week-end meet. They're a bit worried about the car so plan to stop and check on it regularly. I've got a few jobs I want to get done, and some washing, but otherwise I'm going to have an easy day.

Our dear GS1 would have been 54 today. It still feels strange that he's not here to celebrate his birthday.

I hope your OH and neighbour have a trouble free journey Daisy, are they staying overnight. What are the car widows going to be up to?

Oma, DD and I have discussed having a live in carer when I need it but we shall see when the time comes. I don’t want family to care for me, it has been very difficult with my leg injury.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Happy birthday your DS, a shame you can't share it with him.

Oma, i'm like Daisy,i'm sure i wouldn't want a live in carer either.

Hallo everyone, a sad day Daisy, sending you huge hugs!!!xxx

We hope that the lift problem is solved!! 2 or 3 men have been here all day, one came to put a new ventilator in then the others were doing the door etc to let the heat out of the motor! Now hope that it works!!

Rain is forecast here tomorrow, cooler next week.

I have made a screen for the kitchen window, I usually close the curtains late afternoon but that blocks the open windows so I have done this, I should have done it years ago, I made it from a white duvet cover that DIL got for the girls long ago, from Ikea!!!

DIL and GD2 went to Ikea a few weeks ago for a new mattress, found one GD2 felt comfy on, bought it but it wouldn't fit in her car so she said they would pick it up on the Sunday morning, not a problem. DS1 up bright and early to be there for 10am, awful customer service, awkward customer in front them, 30 minutes later they were told the mattress was sold out!!!
DIL asked how that was possible as she had already bought it!!! They said that they could go and choose another or wait until July 3rd. They certainly weren't pleased!! Last Friday they got a mail from Ikea saying that their order would be delivered that morning, it was as well, a home delivery!!!! Good service after a carry on.

37 degrees here at the moment, now it should go down, so they tell us.

Glad they got their new mattress.

We've been sat in the shade with a cuppa, but to be honest it wasn't any cooler.

Hubby is bored out of his skull, because its too warm to do anything.

Well the talk with MIL went as we expected .
No way will she have a stranger living with her or pay for it ,
We tried to talk about her telling the social worker the truth that she can't manage on her own and how afraid she is of going home ,
At that point she switched off and said she couldn't hear us and it was confusing her,
So we didn't push it anymore for now ,

The nurse was passing her bed and said ,
She has selective hearing hasn't she 😁
                                We had to agree.

She wouldn't get out of bed today , said she hadn't had any breakfast,
The lady in the next bed said Yes she has she had cereal and toast,
Then the nurse asked if she had been for a pee this morning, she couldn't remember that either.
Kept asking what time it was and what day it was ,
