Lizzie, with clouds as dramatic as that you'd expect anything to happen. Did your DS have a sleepless night with the storm? Any news on the lift yet?

Nanto, what a good idea for the butcher to provide a fridge for customers' meat, especially in this weather.

Gem, this is sounding more like the gentle easing back into routine after your busy couple of days. I'm sure DD1 enjoyed having a chance to relax with you and OH Was great for her as well. How did S get on at the Chiropractor?

Oma, I'm exhausted reading your post! I agree with B! I would have given up at the first shop. Anthracite would be a good door colour and would go well with the border on your new drive.

I've taken Gem's advice. I've cut the lawn but not done the edges (again!). I'll do them tomorrow. OH is still trying to polish his toy, but the sun's come out now and he's struggling. I've got a curry out of the freezer for a quick meal as we've got to go over to DS2's later to pick up the equipment for tomorrow's big caravan clean up. DS2 will have to come here in his little sports car as DIL needs to go to her own Dad's and won't drive the 2-seater. I can understand why, it's very "different", but the special cleaning stuff won't go in the little car.

      Warm again.

Daisy sounds like a busy day for you with caravan cleaning.

Usual Sunday morning here. Hubby and his brother have just gone to a car boot sale.

I'm going to make a couple of corned beef and onion pies for the freezer, when I've finished my coffee.

        Morning Nanto, ladies.

        Another glorious day ahead ,
We are going out for brunch with family , unfortunately Dorothy & James can't come Dorothy's legs are in a right state ,
They have broken out with big blisters the size of her hands that are weeping , and she also has cellulitis,
Her left leg is worse , with having lymphoedema it's really bad,
Nurses are going in everyday to dress and wrap them.
Poor woman is in so much pain,
It's impossible to imagine how large her legs are unless you see them.

After we have been for brunch we are going to see MIL ,
I was going to wash front door this morning but I will wait till I do the front windows tomorrow now .
Get it all done in one go.

After the astro turf was put down on Friday I was left with two very large pieces so yesterday I advertised them on market place on FB they both went within 10 minutes ,
One was collected last night the other is being collected this afternoon .

Good morning, Oma, I can imagine the size of your friends legs!! Poor woman!!!

DS and family all slept well through the storm, I did as well actually!

The lift repair men were here in the middle of the night, they woke my neighbour as they live next to the lift door. Now both the doors to the hall have to be left open to let the machine cool, I am wondering if that will work when it is 30++ on Tuesday, it is the air that is so warm so we shall see.

I have been to the gym, very warm in there as well, it feels cooler as you walk in, as soon as you get moving it is warm!!

            Good Sunday morning, everyone.

Nanto, what a couple of cuties sharing their morning coffee. It will be busy cleaning the caravan, and it's already getting warm. OH is going to move it over into the shade which should last until about 2 o'clock.

Oma, poor D. Her legs sound horrendous, and no doubt the hot weather doesn't help. I can't imagine how awful those blisters must be. Is she taking anything for the pain? I hope MIL is getting better. Is there any news on what happens hen she's discharged?

Lizzie, well done sleeping through that storm. I hope the lift is working. Leaving the door open to cool the machine sounds like a low-tech option. Still, I hope it works.

I'm going to finish off a few jobs in the garden. The back garden has always got part of it in shade, which is great when the weather's hot.

              Good morning my dears.

Oh Nan2 that graphic is so cute!!

Poor Dorothy Oma I hope the rest of you enjoy your brunch.

Keep as cool as you can in all that heat Lizzie.

Today I must finish my unpacking.
We are going round to friends for a takeaway tonight. We had hoped to eat at our local Chinese restaurant, but it's small and was fully booked.

              Keep cool everyone

Oma poor Dorothy, I can’t imagine how painful it must be for her especially in the present hot weather.

Daisy, those were the days when we got our caravan ready, I do hope you get some trips in. Too hot atm I would imagine.

Gemini, unpacking, not much fun. Because of my accident mine is still unpacked. Enjoy your evening with friends.

We are going around to GD2 for lunch today. They must be having a problem keeping their little one cool. Just managed to have a shower with DD in attendance, moderate success but at least we managed to keep the enormous dressing on my injured leg dry. Hospital visit tomorrow.

Nanto, I hope your OH finds something valuable at the car boot. Is he good at bargaining?

Plant, lovely to hear from you. Hope you ae feeling better.
                  Hubby is good at haggling.

Oma, hope Dorothy feels better soon. A shame she had to miss brunch.

I got the pies made for the freezer.
Got the summer bedding on now. Those that i took off have been washed and they were dry in no time.

Nan2 we got towels dried in no time too

Plant, I hope you enjoy lunch with the family. Have you any of those Fresh wipes still , to use between showers?

We have been pottering in the garden and relaxing in between. A bit of breeze means it wasn't unbearably hot out there.

                      Evening ladies ,
By gum it's been hot hasn't it.

We had a lovely brunch , I had Buttermilk pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon , it was very nice ,

We then went to see MIL,
She was very lucid today and we had a good chat,
No sign of any Drs or social worker, but being weekend we didn't expect anyone.

On the way home we called into Farm foods and bought ice lollies for later.

Had a cup of tea and a rest then I set too washing the front door, the down pipes, and then washed the window frames ,
Once they were done and all the dust off them I cleaned the windows,

There is a part at the bottom of the drive that belongs to the council and it has the fibre optics and our water meter on,
We didn't have that done because they often dig it up ,
It really needs pressure hosing but we were too tired by then,

B will do it another day,

Nanto, I bet your hubby enjoys haggling. My OH is the same. I should think washing has dried almost before it was out in this weather.

Plant, yes, we quite enjoy getting the caravan holiday ready! It was serviced a couple of months ago, and now is shining clean outside. Just the inside to do now. We're going away for 6 days at the beginning of July. As it's our first trip for quite a while, we're just going along the coast to Brighton. It's an area we know but haven't been to for years. We lived in Worthing at one time, and I used to shop in Brighton, plus go to the theatre etc. I hope you've enjoyed your lunch with GD2. It's not easy keeping little ones cool in this heat. Gem's suggestion about the Fresh wipes is a good idea if the shower is difficult, but I hope the hospital will see an improvement in your leg and you'll get a smaller dressing.

Gem, it's good to have a relaxing day when you can. The breeze must have made the weather very pleasant, and no cooking tonight.

Oma, You're making my mouth water with your brunch! Visiting MIL must be a lot less stressful when she's lucid and you can have a good chat. Goodness me, you have been busy! I'm sure the pressure hosing can wait.

I didn't get any gardening done because GD2 came over with DS2. It was great to see her and we spent the whole time chatting. She was telling about all her friends and how they gel together as a group. She's such a caring, kind girl, and her friends all sound lovely too.

OH has an eye appointment tomorrow morning. We'll both be glad when it's over.
