    Morning ladies
    My goodness it's warm already.
I have had a shower and I have put a dress on it's so warm.

Gem straight back to babysitting duties then😁
Enjoy lunch with DD I bet you will be glad to see her .

B can iron beautifully but he takes sooo long ,
He irons like he is still in the army ,
I could have the whole lot done and he would still be on 3 items ,

    Nanto
I like the Flamingos very cheerful,
Enjoy your free time while hubby is out ,

    Daisy
I hope it's not too hot in the hospital and your home quickly.

    Lizzie
What a good idea with the flags,
I hope your Dr can give you some advice.

I will message Plant later see how she is doing and report back.

    We have MIL visit today,
I'm off to M&S shortly see what I can get for her , something tasty , her taste buds after the COVID are not good but she can taste sweet stuff and loves a cake.

They are starting on my drive today ,
He rang yesterday morning said they had a big job cancelled so did we want the slot ,
    B said yes straight away,
They came yesterday and pressure hosed the drive down then sealed it and started laying the boarder stones but then rain stopped them,
Our Elderly neighbour has kindly allowed us to park on her drive .
Hopefully they get the majority of it done today ,
There will be four lads working on it.

      Good Friday afternoon everyone.

Nanto, it's a perfect day for the beach - those two in the graphic will love it! Well done on getting jobs done before it got too warm.

Lizzie, what a good idea, hanging out your no-longer-needed bags. I think I'd prefer that to getting people to sign a school uniform shirt!

Gem, how lovely knowing your OH will do all the ironing. I hope the appointment about your MRI results was useful, and you got more information. I'm sure Little E was very happy playing this morning. I hope you had chance to catch up with DD over lunch. Is GS2 into the frantic round of special events at school this term? It seems to be everything from outings, special days, sports days, concerts etc. I always feel sorry for busy parents trying to keep up with everything. The receptionist at the dentist was saying that her little boy'sSports Day has been cancelled 3 times already because of the weather. Even a heavy dew is a no-no. H&S at its earnest best, I think.

Oma, your new astro turf sounds lush. I'll post a picture of the finished prom outfit. The school shares the Prom with the boys' school next door, and it will be interesting to see if any of them come up with unusual outfits! I remember our GS2 wouldn't have looked out of place on the sleeve of the Beatles' Sargent Pepper album! I think the Army does a brilliant job in teaching people to iron beautifully. You can't rush perfection though.

The hospital was very busy, and I had a single room all to myself because the ward was full! We were out about 10 am, and didn't even have to go in search of meds. We went and picked Eva up and were glad to get home and have a coffee. I've had a snooze and feel much better now.

I'm having a lazy afternoon, just a Sainsbury's delivery at 7 o'clock and an early night I think. Eva is fast asleep and probably won't ask for a walk this evening.

Daisy, glad the hospital visit went well.

Lizzie, i love the tradition of hanging the bags out.

I did my jobs earlier then had a relaxing shower.

Hubby has waited until the sun has moved round.
Then he has rubbed down the garage doors, ready to be repainted.
He's cleaned all the white PVC surrounding the doors.

Oma, thank you for keeping in touch with Plant for us. It's best she doesn't have too many messages to deal with I'm sure.

Always a bonus to be in and out of hospital early in the day Daisy.

How is the drive coming on Oma?

I will spend a bit of time here over the weekend. I will fill you in on the MRI results, my holiday and anything else I haven't had to time to write about!

I went for my Drs appointment , left little E and OH playing. I got back, had a coffee, then he and I went to the preloved toy shop. He came away with a Cranky crane (Thomas the tank engine) for his train set at home, and a little Playmobil ice cream van to keep here.

DD3 got here around midday and we all had lunch in the garden.
So lovely to see her driving herself and picking up little E on her own. It all felt 'normal'. We haven't had any of that for a while.

They left and I did the school run (really hot in my little car with non working air con!)
DD2 stayed for cuppa and chat when she collected GS2 after tea, so we had that in the garden too.
The weather so far has been lovely since we got back from Majorca. Ideal for getting our washing all done.

          Goodnight ladies xx

Good morning. Its bright but i think it's due to be a bit cooler today.

We are going to the farm shop, where i will stock up with steak.
Then onto the garden centre where we will eat.
I need some birthday cards for July and a few other bits.

Gem, how lovely to have a bit of normality yesterday. DD seems to be doing well.

              Morning Nanto, ladies.

              It's very warm already ,

              Nanto
You reminded me I need birthday cards too,
My GS2 is 18 next month and I have other birthdays, thanks for the reminder😁

              Gem
It's nice to have some normality,
Let us know your news in your own time, you have just came back and plunged into routine stuff immediately,
You haven't had time to breath I bet 😁

              Daisy
I'm pleased you didn't have to stay long at the hospital and didn't need to hunt your meds down for a change ,
              We always hated that bit.
Did Eva need a walk or not ?

Well they were here till 7 last night finishing the drive ,
It's lovely we have never seen it so level ,
We can't walk on it till Monday and can't park on it for 7 days but that's not a problem because of our lovely elderly neighbour allowing us to park on her drive.

The boss of the company actually got two more jobs from my neighbours when they seen it done ,
We had a little crowd around admiring it 😁
Just need a new door now

Good morning, it is still very warm after a night of heavy storms, lightning all night long with heavy claps of thunder! I see there is a lot of damage in the north of the Netherlands.

Our lift wasn't working, yet again! I have done dome research and if the temperature is 30+ it can reach 40 in the machine room then the lift is automatically stopped! We have a glass cage round the lift, you can compare that to a greenhouse!!!! My neighbour phoned as she has to take her dog out, no way were they answering, I did the same, I have the number of the lift firm, he took all my details but can only work on a call from the emergency centre of the housing cooperation!!! Now we know!!

I want to go to the baker and the library at 10am before it gets hot! A lady from the gym was adopted as a baby from South Korea, she has wrote a book and I would like to read it.

Gem, you will be tired after your busy day yesterday, it would be lovely seeing GD3 doing all her normal things.!!

                  Hello everyone.

Lizzie, it must be such a pain when the lift isn't working.

Slightly cooler here today too Nan2. I think it's the breeze, which is welcome.

                  Very posh drive Oma
You are right , we've not had time for anything since we came back! I have a few posts to make around the forum, and will get to them eventually!
OH is at the chiropractor, I don't intend to leave the house today
                  DD1 may call in.

Good Saturday morning everyone (well, technically afternoon now.)

Nanto, I hope you're enjoying your lunch out. I bet the steak from the farm shop is lovely.

Oma, the new look makes your drive look huge. What kind of new door would you like? No, I didn't walk Eva. She's always tired after a sty with Cooper. They don't play like they used to when they were younger, but they seem to keep each other busy.

Lizzie, your lift is a nightmare. Would it help if they could put an air conditioning unit in the machine room to keep the temperature down? Can your neighbour's dog walk down and then up the stairs or is he small enough to carry? The book written by the South Korean lady at the gym will be fascinating. She must have had some very interesting experiences growing up in a completely different culture. You certainly had a spectacular storm last night. I've never actually seen clouds like that, except on a weather forecaster's site, but I can't remember what they are called. They might be shelf clouds meaning a storm is very close, but I'm not sure. They're certainly incredibly dramatic.

Gem, do your catching up when things are a bit quieter. You've hardly had time to draw breath since you got home. It must have been lovely to see DD3 look well, driving and collecting Little E all on her own. Those moments are so precious for both of you. I hope DD1's life is going smoothly these days. It's good to have a catch up. Is the Chiropractor helping with OH's pain? I do hope so. Constant pain is so exhausting.

Plant, if you happen to be looking in, I hope your leg is improving and you are allowing the family to pamper you. xxx

There's no sign of the forecast heatwave here so far, but the forecast for the week ahead is hot, hot, hot. We're trying to get some jobs done this week-end. OH is cleaning his kit car ready for the club's meet up next week-end, and all being well, DS2 is coming to help him clean the caravan outside tomorrow. It's not that long since it was done, but debris from the horse chestnut tree at the front leaves the roof covered in green stuff. I'm going to mow the lawn, and hopefully finish trimming the edges this time. It's growing so quickly. Eva is still quite tired from her stay with Cooper. We sometimes forget she's an old lady now.

They are called shelf clouds Daisy.

DS1 said they could alter the heat limit, something like that.

I hope they can do something!!

Oma, I think the photo's are fascinating! DS1 was saying the storm started at 9-30 last night and went on to 5-30 this morning!

Lizzie, hope the lift is working sooner rather than later.
                            Stunning photos Lizzie.

                            Oma, the drive looks good.

Daisy, the steak from the farm shop is always nice. Its a bit more expensive as all farm shops are,but its worth it.
All packed up in the freezer now,but left some out for tomorrow.
While we were in the farm shop,i said to hubby,we ought to call on our way home.
I knew when we got to the garden centre that there wouldn't be any shade in the car park.
Didn't fancy leaving meat in the car for 2 or 3 hours.
The butcher heard me,and said we have got a new fridge in the back, so customers can leave their shopping in it,while the weather is so warm.
I was glad because if we had left until later, there might not have been any left.

Nan2, what a good idea to let customers put their shopping in the butchers fridge .

Don't overdo it Daisy, but I agree getting on before the heatwave is a good idea.

DD1 did come and we had a cuppa and lovely catch up in the garden. OH came back and joined us.

We are thinking of Anthracite colour but not sure of style yet we are looking around.

We seem to have been busy all day,
We went to Next as I wanted new prints for my sitting room wall , we then went to Aldi and Home bargains,
Then went to look at doors in a unit near us,

Had lunch then went to The range in Sunderland to look at a mirror I liked,
Got there and the only one left had a chip out of the corner,

So we came back and went to another door shop.
Had a little rest as it's so hot ,and lunch.

I then set too clearing up in the garden all the muddy footprints on the sleepers where everyone was stepping on them yesterday then bit from the astro turf,
Got that done and decided to wash down all the windows in the back and the facias around the utility, with a brush dipped in soapy water,
Hosed all that off and that led to hosing down the alley way πŸ™„
Then of course I had to clean the patio window and the loo and utility window

I am my own worst fool ,
B said one of the hottest days and you decide to do that 😏

I have had a shower and I am in my PJs now I'm doing nothing else,

Oh and in between our Martin popped in for a cup of tea on way to see Mother .
