Good for you complaining and getting those vouchers Nan2. The salad cream looks yukky.
So pretty Daisy!
Little E enjoyed the toy shop , of course
He left with the tunnel, one of the little engines and a Peppa Pig muddy puddles game. We went to the bakers and he chose a novelty biscuit to have after his lunch. Living his best life as DD2 would say
OH did well at golf and was much less tired than last time, probably due to cooler weather.
We have spent a lot of today in the garden..Our friends G and A called in this afternoon. A loves children and is really good with them so E enjoyed spending time with her .

Plant, thank you. I'd like to get the borders to the point where they are crammed with plants of our choosing to keep the weeds at bay. To be honest, the odd times when everything seems to come together are fleeting, and sometimes something works better than you could have hoped.
Gem, what a lovely day Little E has had. A child-perfect day. Lovely to see your friends G and A as well. OH must have been delighted with the golf today. Being less tired is also good news.
Nanto, I think lupins have been out of fashion for years, but I've always liked them, and there is such a good range of colours now."Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Morning Nanto, ladies.
It's a lovely day so far,
I hope it stays that way , it's Finley's 4th birthday party today , his birthday isn't till Thursday but his party is this afternoon.
Beds stripped and in the wash,
My electric toothbrush has decided to give up the ghost so I had to get my ordinary toothbrush I keep in the cupboard out,
My teeth never seem as clean using that one though.
Gem
I bet E was excited with his new toys , little ones are not bothered that they are pre loved are they.
S must have been happy she didn't feel so tired , was the pain ok?
Nice to spend time in the garden,
Daisy
I love lupins , they may be one of only a few tall plants I like , gladioli is another and aquilegia,
I hope you had a better bug free night 😁
Lizzie
I hope your having a lovely holiday .
MIL couldn't remember SIL1 being in yesterday , when SIL2 rang she asked who was going in,
She is sleeping a awful lot now , and it's hard to rouse her when you go in .

Good Saturday morning, everyone.
Nanto, I'm sure it's warmed up by now, but it was nice having a cooler start to the day. I managed to get some ironing done first thing.
Oma, it's hard to believe Finley is celebrating his 4th birthday! Time goes so quickly. I hope he has a lovely party. I like tall plants generally, but there are some I've never tried growing, like hollyhocks. MIL doesn't sound very well. Are the antibiotics working?
It looks like being another warm day here.

I know what DS1 will say, " you should have checked mother"!.. I wasn't the only one that hadn't checked though
. It took at least 45 minutes to get to another motorway, following the signs for R! With the help of my navigation and a nice young man behind me, he was in a works van, each time we had to move to another lane he made sure there was space for me as well! He did it the full 45 minutes then when we reached the other motorway I wasn't too sure, he flashed his lights and put the indicator on so I got in the right lane!! How nice of him!! I was telling DS2 when he phoned, he said, " well mother, I would have done the same"! He would as well.
I enjoyed the few days away, even though it was very hot and I got bitten or stung 4 times in the same place, very painful, I think the dreaded horse fly again, I get an allergic reaction!
One morning I called at a "tea garden" for coffee, it was just an ordinary dike cottage from the outside, what a surprise I got, what a garden!!!! I have never seen so many flowers etc, fantastic. All the customers were saying the same. The lady makes all her own bread cakes etc! I promised myself I would go on Thursday for a lunch, like you Nanto, I went up-market!!
I had a cash gift from a friend for my birthday so decided to close my eyes and spoil myself!!!! It was delicious and well worth it. The lady was showing me a garden magazine, there is a full report of her, plus some beautiful photo's in there. This is the website, in Dutch but with good photo's. www.onderdegroenehemel.com
It is still warm and muggy, a lot of rain in some parts of the Netherlands yesterday afternoon and evening, we just had one heavy thunderstorm at 5pm and that was it.
On my way home, on the other motor-way, it was almost 8am and the garden centre farm shop opens at 8am so I decided to be one of their first customers.

Lizzie , welcome back ! I have copied your post to the Travel and days out section as it may get lost here
Oma, I hope Finley had a lovely party.
Our 48+ hours of childcare are over!
DD and SIL3 had a lovely weekend at their airbnb on the Yorkshire coast and little E had a lovely time here
This morning we took him to a family disco for children from his nursery, his and other branches. Fortunately it happened to be held in a secondary school in the next village to us. He had a lovely time. Afterwards we went to the nearby nature reserve to cool down in the shade by the lake.
We spent the afternoon in the garden and his mummy and daddy got here around 3.
We are invited to our friends G and A for tea tonight. Most welcome after our busy few days
