    Good morning everyone.

Have a nice trip Nan2. My OH is quite keen on Screwfix.

Sunny here, washing on the go.

We will go for little E in a couple of hours. Not sure what we were do before coming back here. We have promised him fish and chips for tea, so no cooking tonight.
It will be lovely for DD and SIL to go the wedding. DD's dad is invited too, and isn't bothered about staying into the evening, so he will drive DD home when she's ready. SIL can have a bit of relaxing time and stay later. DD is very keen for him to be able to do that

      Morning ladies
Sun is out but still a nip in the air.

      Gem
A good idea DD coming home with her dad and as you say gives SIL can have a bit of relaxation and fun and a catch up with friends no doubt.
I bet little E is excited for fish and chips ,I would be too.
      B loves screw fix and tool station , it's a DIYs paradise😁

      Nanto
The right shoes will come along , no point in settling for second best as you would never be happy with them,
      Enjoy your day out.

      Daisy
Treacle pudding and custard yummy , worth going just for that 😁
Trouble with our Hospital is they closed the on site kitchens and now it's all brought in and reheated ,
We knew it was fish as soon as we walked through the doors it stunk .

Just as well we all taking her sandwiches and treats in.

Beds stripped and in the wash,
Housework done and I gave my sink a good scrub with pink stuff,
I might buy some Barkeepers friend , I know that gives a good shine but haven't bought it for a long time.

Im not fat just 6ft too small

        Good Saturday afternoon everyone.

Nanto, I think it's difficult to buy shoes. You don't really know how they will be until you've worn them for a few days. It's a bit too late to return them then. I hope it has stayed sunny for your trip to Wombwell. I think you enjoyed it the last time you went there. Another vote from Daisy Towers for Screwfix! In fact my OH is on his way there right now.

Gem, it sounds like the perfect arrangement for DD3 to go to the wedding, knowing she go come home with her Dad when and if she's tired, but SIL can stay on and enjoy his friends' company. As for Little E, I bet he's really excited to have a week-end sleepover, and fish and chips. What could be nicer.

Oma, yes, the treacle sponge and custard was nice, even though I can't taste very much. They also had home-made rice pudding, but that was made with cream, so a no-no for me. OH said it was delicious. So much food must get ruined in hospitals, and it's such a waste. You can't help thinking it would be better for the patient and more cost effective to provide nourishing meals that patients would eat and benefit from. If they're made in the hospital kitchens they can still be cooked ahead and frozen but you wouldn't end up with uneaten meals, hungry patients and worried relatives.

It's wet and cold here today. I was hoping to get washing out on the line this morning, but the machine refused to spin until the filter was emptied and it's now raining. I was going to have a day catching up a bit after two days of galivanting out with friends. Then DS2 phoned - they were sorting out their garage and did we want the spare dishwasher they didn't need? We'd discussed this a while ago - our dishwasher is very old and the door mechanism has broken. Their spare one was almost new when they moved into their current house, but didn't fit their new kitchen, so has been left in the garage ever since. OH and I went over to collect it - it's hardly been used and is much nicer than our old one. Our neighbour kindly helped OH to get it into the kitchen, and OH has gone to get the right connector from Screwfix. So far I've done none of the jobs I had in mind!

Hallo everyone, if I lived in the UK I would be a fan of screw fix!! I love DIY shops.

I have just been down to visit the lady down on the 4th floor, then, this morning I went to visit the friend I used to visit when he lived near me, he moved into a home a while ago and I have promised myself I would visit, I am never keen as I don't know how I would find him, talking to his son last week, he said he probably wouldn't recognise me, but, he loves having visitors so I went, he is in a care home built on to a flight tower from when the airfield was there, the whole area is now housing etc but the tower still stands, has a lovely cafe/restaurant with all the photo's etc, going back to the friend, did he recognise me, in one way he did, we chatted for well over one hour, in that time he asked me 10 times how old I was! His short term memory isn't good, he does seem to remember other things, he is 91 years old now, he was reading the newspaper when I went so he still does all that. When I left he said "give my best wishes to E (my DS2)" so he must have recognised me.

Gem, I hope that DD3 manages to enjoy the wedding.

Daisy, you will be pleased with the new dishwasher. I used to love treacle sponge and custard.

I had a call from GD1 for my birthday, she is really enjoying Malta, they are placed in groups, she is in a studio with 2 other girls, she didn't know them as they were following another course at the college, she soon got to know them, they are getting on so well together, she is loving it! I will try and post a photo of the 3 of them together.

I went to the doctor yesterday and got yet another course of antibiotics, she looked through my file and agreed it is always the left side where the blockage is. She wants me to go to the specialist, when I arrived home I already had the appointment email! It is here in the village on June 16th. He has a clinic here on a Tuesday which is handy.

It is still cool, going to be 27 degrees next weekend!!

We enjoyed our trip to Wombwell.
Two new shops have opened up,both selling tools.
Of course, hubby can't resist a tool shop,so we browsed round both of them.
We hadn't been home long, when sis in law and hubby arrived.

Daisy, have fun with the new to you dishwasher.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Lizzie, what a lovely photo. Thank you for sharing it. It sounds as though your friend in the care home did recognise you, even if he didn't remember your age. I'm sure you made his day. How lovely that your GD1 has made new friends and rang you to wish you happy birthday.

When we went to DS2's to collect the dishwasher, I got a very warm greeting from Cooper, who is convinced he's a lap dog - all 40kg of him!
