Good morning, I have just come back from hospital, on the bus! It was for lung tests and not allowed to do any thing physical before the tests. I must say, I was very impressed with the bus!!! I can't remember ever going to Delft by bus, years ago I think you had to change at the station, now with the new roads it is straight through, a 20 minute ride. The tests were all good, nothing wrong with my lungs etc, now I have other tests on 9th April to see what happens during an allergic reaction. It will be the same, by bus, nothing physical again before the tests.

I want to go to the library then call in the store to see the e readers!!

I called in a shop in the way home, met a neighbour and cycled home with her, I have never met anyone complain so much in a few minutes!

Lizzie, some people can complain for England, or The Netherlands in your case.
You sounded very impressed with the bus.

Hope all the other hospital visits go well.

Gem, safe journey home if you are coming home today.

We've just got the quote for the bathroom, and we are happy with it.
Hopefully work should start in a month.

Nanto, I don't know why people complain so much, it was one thing after another!!

My doctor has just phoned, it is not shingles on my face but a fungal infection.I thought from the start it felt like a bad burn! I have some cream etc and now hope that it clears.

            Good Monday morning/afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, so it's full steam ahead for your new bathroom. I know the upheaval of having it done is horrible but I'm sure it will be worth it. I hope your nephew likes the car he went to see, and I'm sure you're right, it won't be pink and sparkly. My auntie would have called that a bobby dazzler!

Oma, our niece and her OH only live about half an hour from us. She and her younger sister grew up in North Wales, as did their parents, but totally by chance they have both ended up living very close to us. Sadly they lost both their parents last year, so I think they quite like having us oldies nearby. You've got a busy morning with a tip run, shopping and taking MIL for her X-ray. It sounds as though the family put on your and B's good nature. You seem to take the biggest load of caring for her.

Lizzie, two good outcomes today. A solution for that rash, and good, clear lungs. The bus service sounds amazing. Will you use it more often now you know how good it is? I had to smile about your complaining neighbour. Some people are never so happy as when they're complaining. I hope she didn't make you feel depressed though.

            Gem, safe journey home today.

My blood test was at our local hospital and we were in and out before my appointment time. We're so lucky to have this hospital just 5 miles away. I think our trip to the General on Friday will be much more of a pain with what is already a bottle neck section of road having one lane closed.

It's a lovely sunny day now, after a chilly start. I've got tender plants overwintering in the summerhouse, and last night I left the door open by accident! They seem ok, but it was very cold.

Daisy, I like the bike ride to the hospital, but, I must say the bus is very handy! When I go next month it is the same story so I will take the bus again.

The neighbour lived next door to me when they first married, they moved away, had children then got divorced a few years ago, then she came back to live in the building, when I hear how she complains, no wonder they got the divorce!!!

I hope the plants are OK Daisy, it was 2 degrees here on Saturday morning with a slight ground frost.

Nanto, it is, let me think, 27 years ago this month that DS and a neighbour did our bathroom, I am still very pleased with it after all this time.

Lizzie, its good that you are still pleased with your bathroom.

We have lived in this house for 57 years.
When we first came here the bathroom and loo were seperate.
We bought the house from the council when the right to buy came in force.
Hubby knocked the wall out to make it into one room.
We had a white bathroom suite installed.
A few years later we had a new pink suite when coloured ones were fashionable.
Then, when hubby thought the bathroom needed retiling,we went back to white suite.
I think this will be the last time its renovated for us.

Nanto, it's hard to change fixtures like tiled bathrooms, so I think you were wise to go back to a white suite when you had to retile.

We bought a new-build house just at the time coloured suites were coming into fashion. We had pampas in the main bathroom, dark brown (ugh) in our ensuite and pampas in the cloakroom. I shudder now when I think of that house!

I'm pleased you know what is on. Your face now and it can be treated with the correct cream
Some people love to moan, I always say it is MILs favourite hobby.
These people must live miserable lives .
Your bus service sounds first class,
Nice to know you can use it with confidence.
Good news on the lung tests .

                      Nanto
I bet your bathroom will look lovely,
We said the same about the kitchen, once it's done that will last us.

                      Daisy
We had a Navy blue suite with the splash back shelves to match in our bathroom
We thought we were the bees knees at the time .
Looking back it was hideous 😁

Had MIL for her x-ray , in and out quicky.
B changed the padlock on her back gate and plastered a hole in her bedroom cupboard, then we came home .
She was in a mood and I had no patience with her today, so best to leave her to it.

I have had a job to log on today. No news really. DD and Sil have not been away yet, they are off in two weeks to Spain. I am waiting for GD to get back with my car so I can go to get some compost, she obviously has got held up. I might leave my errand until tomorrow. Chilly here too Daisy, I am doing little bits of gardening, mainly pots and tidying, nothing to risk me falling over.

Nanto, very exciting planning a change in your bathroom. I have phoned a man who has done a lot of decorating for us. I have asked him to decorate my bathroom and kitchen. quite small jobs really

Oma, your Mil is the end, she should be very grateful for what is done for her. I am grateful for anything my family do for me, although I do try to be independent. Navy blue in the bathroom sounds very nice.

Gemini, I hope you have had a lovely time.

It was a navy blue bath, toilet and hand basin,
Very 70s it was that or a Avocado green,
We thought it was lovely in the 70s but looking back it was truly awful
I remember it was hard to keep clean too,
The slightest bit of dust showed up.

Be careful with the gardening , you really don't want to be falling over, especially if your on your own.

Plant, we certainly did have a nice time and I will write about it tomorrow.
I feel quite physically and emotionally drained though so am taking this afternoon and evening and most of tomorrow for myself.

                            Night everyone.

I don't need much, but i do want some more non slip clothes hangers.

                              Enjoy your day ladies.

                                Good morning ladies.

I like the happy graphic Nan2

Plant I think you do your best to stay independent and I'm sure your family are happy to help you.

Lizzie, hopefully your face will soon improve now you have the right treatment.

Oma, its doesn't seem fair you having to take MIL for the X ray. I'm glad it was quick at least.

Daisy it must have been the day for quick blood tests! DD3 was in and out in no time and they came back to ours for cuppa before taking little E home.

I will write about our weekend away on that thread later.
It was a good weekend and hopefully perked DD3 up for her next round of chemo today.
Library for me this morning, no other plans.
