Well GS1 decided he doesn't want the trampoline to go so we are stood down this afternoon!
The men who cut back our trees were in the area so we have got them cutting back the apple tree in the back garden. It hasn't been done for several years and is far too big. We have locked the cats in as they will be terrified and scarper

It snowed when I was in my aqua class this morning but it's bright and sunny now.

Oma, the small post office is very near to us,but we had to go to the bigger one about a mile away.
We decided to walk there and back for a bit of execise.
We went in three different shops while we were in the area, but didn't buy owt.
Both of us enjoyed the walk in the sunshine.

      Hope DD feels better soon.

I have just read your post Oma, I hope DD is soon feeling better, I managed to do the shopping at the Lidl then a walk to the village this afternoon, the walk to the Lidl was easier in the fresh snow, I have just read that there are no busses running at the moment because of the roads being so icy. they say that Wednesday is going to be even worse!!

Tree down, decs away. H helped me to clear all the decs so Christmas is over in our house now. Had a phone call from GS3, he was walking to get his lunch. I have made a large batch of Chicken casserole, I will freeze 2 portions and have one this evening. I still haven’t ventured out, fortunately see the family quite a lot so not lonely. I had a jigsaw as a present at Christmas so GS1 fetched my jigsaw board from the loft yesterday so nothing to stop me now to getting on with it, haven’t done one for years.

Oma, sorry to hear your DD is poorly, not too badly I hope. All my Decs are put away in large clipped plastic boxes.

Gemini, I used to like the activities in the deep end of the pool.

Lizzie, be careful walking on the icy surfaces, I think we are in for some more white stuff.

Well done getting all that done Plant. I will finish ours tomorrow. Enjoy the jigsaw , OH enjoys them very much.

Apple tree done, men gone, cats allowed out again. No blossom or apples this year unfortunately.
OH went for her monthly bloods. The wait was 45 minutes, which is a lot longer than usual.

Better late than never (I hope!). Every time I thought I'd come and say hello, something happened - nothing exciting, but enough to keep me away from my computer.

Lizzie, I've no idea what makes somewhere a village or a town, but I suppose populations move over time and some places grow and others don't. Our village has a population of about 3,500 and that feels quite large! It sounds as though your village has grown a lot over the years. If the weather's going to get even worse, I hope you can stay safely indoors for a couple of days.

Nanto, it's good to have a relaxing day when the weather is like this. I hope it wasn't icy when you took your parcel. It sounds as though you enjoyed your walk.

Oma, your poor DD. I hope she isn't as ill has my OH has been - it really is horrendous, and he's still not properly over it.

Gem, I love homemade soup as well, but like you have always felt it was a bit of a work up to roast vegetables for it. But actually, I did less chopping than I would normally and the only extra was a roasting tin that needed washing. I know your soup maker is even easier, but it means you would have even less chopping to do. Well done on making progress with the deep water Aqua class. You must feel really pleased it's going so well. I hope you got the warm cuppa after dismantling the trampoline. I've just read your next post! I hope you got a cuppa anyway!

Plant, how lovely to have H helping you to pack your Christmas decorations away. Good luck with the jigsaw. It's the perfect winter indoor pastime, isn't it. You can do as little or as much as you like. Hopefully you won't get any more snow.

It's still cold here, but another sunny day. My DS2 said it was really pleasant in the sun in his greenhouse this morning. That's something I miss not having a greenhouse now - I used to love pottering about on a cold but sunny day. I seem to have been busy all day - some housework, and odd jobs. I took Eva out this afternoon but was cold and tired when we got back. OH cooked dinner, which was very nice. GD1 went back to school today, but GD2 doesn't go back until Wednesday.

                Good morning.

Oma, hope DD feels better soon.

Had another light sprinkling of snow.

Usual trip into town, hubby meeting his pal.

                Have a good day ladies.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Very cold here . OH has just come in from taking the recycling boxes out. We will both need to defrost cars before going out today.

I hope Dorothy is OK today Oma. She will probably feel the worst of the aches today.

Daisy I can imagine you miss your greenhouse, OH would miss hers.

Library for me, golf for OH.
My afternoon will be spent taking down the Christmas trees and putting away the tree ornaments. A job I can do in the warm

Keep warm and be careful if you go out ladies.

                    Morning ladies,

                    Nanto
Enjoy your outing , will you have lunch out as usual 😁
Hope you have something nice , saves cooking doesn't it.

                    Daisy
I have days like that when you mean to do something then something happens and then you forget ,
By the time you remember the days gone😁

                    I still miss our greenhouse,
I would spend hours setting seeds then potting on ,
It's the achievement of seeing those seeds becoming healthy plants isn't it ,
                    Plus it's peaceful.

We off to Currys this morning to look for a fridge freezer, see what's available,

I have text Dorothy but she hasn't replied yet she must be having a lie in,

Rang DD last night she's not well but still working,
I know she works from home but it's still a lot being on a computer all day when you feel so rough,
She's setting up a new team on a 3 month trial and yesterday was the first day so she didn't want to stay off.

Hopefully she will take it easy today but I doubt it.

                    Gem
                    Our post crossed again 😁
Enjoy your library time, will you have a coffee before you come home?
How is it going with the post office in there is it working ok?

Good Tuesday morning, everyone. I hope nobody is snowed in.

Nanto, wrap up warm for your trip out. It's nice if you can have a day off from cooking, but at least you've got plenty of meals in your freezer.

Gem, I bet you will be warmer in the library and OH will be on the golf course. It's sad taking down the Christmas tree etc, but at least you will be in the warmth.

Oma, poor DD. She should be resting not working hard setting up a new team. I hope it's not too stressful for her. Hopefully, today will be a bit easier for her. How is Dorothy? I hope she's not feeling too bruised, and has managed to keep warm.

Yes, the greenhouse is a lovely place to be. It's such a thrill when those tiny seedlings start to emerge. I always grew too much of everything though, and then had to rehome the ones I couldn't grow on.

Lizzie, I hope you're home and warm. I see Schiphol airport has cancelled about 500 flights today. It must be really bad. Eurostar has cancelled trains as well.

We had a beautiful sunrise this morning, but it's clouded over now. It's very cold and our local roads are like skating rinks. We're not going anywhere today. My DIL1 says it's snowing there - not far from Plant and WeeGranny, so I hope they're ok.

I spoke to Dorothy, she didn't have a great night but took painkillers and managed to doze for a while,
She's very stiff and sore today , it took ages she said before she felt truly warm and stopped shaking

                        Daisy
The roads around here are the same, the main roads are clear though.

I think I have chosen the fridge freezer I want ,
Well it's a choice of two really, I just have to decide.

We went from Currys next door to M&S and treated ourselves to a Chinese takeaway for tonight,
Only thing in it I don't like is beef in black bean sauce but B likes it so he can have that .

My parcel that I waited in all day yesterday for
Was supposed to come between 12.30- 5.30pm turned up this morning while we were out.
My neighbour took it in for us ,

Daisy, it is really bad here! No busses, trams etc, hardly any trains etc etc etc. Then, tomorrow they have said will be the worst day with up to 10cm of snow on top of what we already have!

There is a slope next to us, the only slope in the area so fantastic for sleighing! my DS's used to do it, my GD's as well when they were here, I heard screams of delight long after I went to bed last night, there are a few teenagers now, busy getting the slope sorted!! m.snow.2013_009.jpg m.snow.2013_035.jpg m.snow.2013_006.jpg m.snow.2013_022.jpg

Those teenagers will be making their memories now,

My Nephew and his wife had Archie my G Nephew who is 6 now out on the dry ski slopes across from my MILs house,
It's all lit up at night , it was full of sledge's by the photos.

On a Tuesday we go into town early, usually back about 11ish,so we don't eat out.

All of the snow has gone now, but local forecast said a day of rain, sleet and snow showers.
Hubby saidhe felt a few spots of rain but it didn't come to anything.

Lovely photos of the girls when they were younger Lizzie I think we all enjoyed the snow as children and didn't worry too much about getting cold!

Oma I think that's so part of the problem with working from home. Where they would take the time off if they had to go in , they continue to work at home when they should be resting and taking time off.
                                Enjoy the Chinese!

Very wise to stay in Daisy.

Oma, I have my coffee during the morning at the library I get a free one from the cafe as a volunteer. The librarian and I usually sit and have a chat.
It was quite busy and I had plenty to do so the morning passed in a flash.
OH said she was toasty warm on the course despite the minus temperatures!
