    Morning ladies
It's very wet here and very cold.

    Gem
    Have a lovely afternoon
Hope you win a game 😁

We played bingo on Christmas day , I won a full house my prize was....wait for it... A half dozen eggs 🤣🤣 SIL had chosen the prizes amongst them was bacon beans and cheese 🤣🤣🤣
    MIL claimed my eggs 😁

    Nanto
I hope its not too wet at your end if your going into town.

We. Are off to MILs this morning,
Hopefully she's in a good mood,
SIL1 took her shopping yesterday she said she was mostly fine,

But they were going down one isle and a lad was filling the shelves, he was whistling MIL said that's crap whistling he said but it's for free , she then said to him," if you get your teeth fixed it might be better"

SIL said she was horrified , she said you can't say things like that ,
MIL said why can't I ? So SIL had to what if he hasn't got a dentist or is afraid of dentists or can't afford it,
But either way it's not your business, and he might be very self conscious about his teeth and you have just made his day worse.

    She's unbelievable at times.

      Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

It sounds as though most of us are getting back into everyday routines, shopping, washing etc.

WeeGranny, welcome back. Early flights are all very well, but if you're tired you don't know whether to have a sleep or soldier on till normal bedtime. It was kind of your DD to go and put your heating on. Yes, Uni holidays are long, but I think a lot of students are glad of the chance to earn some money in their holidays. It sounds as though your GS is enjoying himself.

Nanto, enjoy your meal today. How nice not to have to actually cook it. Did you get all your shopping?

Gem, have fun this afternoon. I'm sure you will feel better now you're back into your usual routine of aqua classes.

Oma, your MIL leaves me speechless sometimes! I hope she enjoyed your eggs! And I hope the lad in the supermarket didn't take her remarks to heart. I hope she's behaving herself today. You certainly found a bargain with that trifle.

It's a beautiful sunny day here. We had a lovely sunrise as well. It's quite chilly though. I'd just gone round the house opening windows to let some fresh air in when the window cleaner turned up, so I've had to close them all again. Still it will be nice to start the New Year with clean windows.

I'm expecting a call from the Consultant today. It was timed for 10.30, but I've learned not to rely on whatever time they say. But it means I can't really take Eva out until they've called. I hope the sun stays with us.

Lovely and sunny here but very cold. GD has just got back from taking H to the doctors again, her throat is swollen again and she looks pale. Dr. Said no infection so GD will just go with that. I think she is tired. No plans for me today, all my activities start next week. I have sorted out my next years calendar, birthdays etc.

Daisy, I hope you and OH are feeling better and will be able to mix with the family. I also hope you receive good news from the consultant.

Nanto, Enjoy your meal out, no cooking for you today.

Oma, has your Mil always been outspoken, not sparing others feelings?

Its been dry all day here, but no sun.
Managed to get all i wanted from the butcher and iceland.
Some of the stalls in the market were still closed.

Apparently temperatures are going to drop verry cold tonight.
Weather forecast said there could be snow in the new year.

Oma, MIL doing what she does best.

            Plant ,
She has always been acid tongued , thinks she can just say as she pleases and can't understand what's wrong with that.

Poor H could it be her tonsils, although I suppose the Dr has checked them.

            Daisy
I hope the consultant has rang by now ,
I need to clean the inside of my windows once all the decorations are down.

Well we have had a bit of a fire ,
I put something in the microwave to defrost,
B went upstairs to go in the loft for the roll of bubble wrap,
I started taking some of the decorations down ready to wrap,

I went into the kitchen to get the scissors not 5 minutes later and there was flames coming out of the microwave,

I pulled the plug out, wet a couple of tea towels and threw them over it,
By this time the utility was full of smoke and the alarms were going crazy,
B didn't know why the alarms were going off so rushed as quickly as he's able to get down,
I had all the doors open .
The house stinks so we sat freezing till the smell subsided,

A new microwave is needed now🙄

Oma, what a fright the microwave going on fire. It just shows how easy fires can start. Poor B, I bet he wondered why the alarms were going off. It's made me realise though, that if our microwave did the same I'd have to move it to unplug it!

Was it very old? I hope you were able to wrap your decorations up after all that.

Plant, poor little H. There are so many bugs about at the moment though, I think a lot of young children are getting various infections. I hope she's ok.

Nanto, it's satisfying to get everything on your shopping list, but it's a funny time of year with some shops open and others closed. My DS2 and DIL have closed for two weeks. It's the only longish break they ever get. DIL really needs a rest, but this morning she decided to sort out the playroom. It's a small-ish bedroom but both GDs and DIL use it for hobbies - painting, craft work, sewing etc, and it's also the girls' homework room so you can imagine what a state it gets in.

The consultant phoned just before lunch - everything seems on track, so treatment as usual on Friday. I've done some much-needed housework this afternoon, and some washing, and I'm just having a cuppa before I take Eva for a walk before it goes dark. I'll be glad when the evenings get a bit lighter.

Lighter evenings will definitely be welcome Daisy. Good to know things as they should be regarding the blood test .

Good gracious Oma Thank goodness it was no worse and no one hurt.

Poor H Plant, it's the time of year for these bugs.

It's already feeling a lot colder here Nan2.

We had a lovely afternoon at our friend's house. We took the new card game we got for Christmas and we all enjoyed it.
Tesco have been and we have just put it away. I won't cook just yet as we had quite a few snacky things this afternoon!

                  Daisy
The microwave was just over a year old , just out of warranty by about 1 month, typical

It's been a few weeks for breakdowns for the family,
DDs hoover packed up Christmas week so they had to go get a new one ,
Then Boxing day her Smeg fridge freezer completely died, they have had it. Many years mind you ,
Luckily they have a freezer in the garage so everything had to be crammed in there and the day after SIL had to go get another one ,

Then on Saturday MILs toaster blew up and now our microwave,
She needs a new cooker also

Always happens at the busiest time of the year doesn't it.

Good news that your on track ,
I agreed I can't wait for lighter nights and mornings.

                  Gem

What card game did you get?
It is feeling cold isn't it ,
Has it rained at your end ?? It's belted down most of the day here.

Daisy, glad everything is on track.

Oma, so many things breaking down in your family.

Oma, I would go to where you bought the microwave and point out it is only just out of warrantee. Thirteen months isn't a reasonable life span for a microwave (in my opinion) and it's worth going back to the seller and seeing what they say.

I think it's covered by the Sale of Goods Act, 1979and/or the Consumer Rights Act, 2015.

Good morning, I have just read that the roads are icy so I will wait to go to the gym.

Oma, I must say I have never heard of a fire in a microwave.

This is the last year that the public can buy, or use (legal) fireworks, there have never been so many sold! The problem then will be all the illegal fireworks, the roads to Germany have never been so busy as they are this week. It is in fact a huge problem!

I was in touch with my physio yesterday and he advised me to get in touch with my surgery to get permission for a vascular examination, I will see if they approve, the pain is unbearable at times.

                          Good New Years Eve morning.

No plans for us today or tonight.

I won't be staying up to see the new year in.

If you have plans for tonight enjoy.

Oma, like Daisy said, 13 months isn't long for a microwave.

Good morning everyone, the last of the year.

Very cold and frosty here. Good idea to delay going out if it's icy Lizzie.

Oma the game is called Skyjo.

Aqua for me this morning. DD1 and possibly GS1 is calling in this afternoon I think.
Usual New Years Eve for us. Only six of us this year. Which makes cooking easier and also playing board games OH is making sweet and sour chicken with rice, friends are bringing pudding options.
Fizz is in the fridge for midnight and I will make mulled wine later.

I made the right decision! Black ice, I got a message from neighbour M telling me to stay home, she had to take the dog and said it was so dangerous, another neighbour fell off her bike in the street etc so I will wait!!!
