I'm off to the hairdresser's shortly,

Just had a email about something I ordered online ,
It left Dallas Texas on the 13 th it's now in San Francisco today.
Lord knows how long it will take to get here,
Luckily it's not something for Christmas so there is no rush 😁
I didn't check where it was shipped from to be honest when I ordered it, so my fault.

It has been a day of rain of biblical proportions! I can’t remember seeing so much water on the roads! And it’s still raining! I had a dentist’s appointment or I wouldn’t have gone out. I also needed to get some shopping as my DB is coming for the weekend and there’s not much in my fridge as I’m off to DS’s for Christmas. All done now and I can relax in front of the fire!
Hopefully a better day tomorrow 🤞

No, not quite, Gem. OH hasn't been feeling well for a couple of days - a cold or possibly flu, I thought. But last night his temperature shot up to 39.2 and he was struggling to breathe properly.

I called 111, and they were very helpful and said a clinician would call within the hour. In the meantime, worried he might have to go to hospital I phoned our neighbour to see if she could have Eva until DS2 could collect her. She came straight round, and did what I was too panic-striken to do - took his temp, pulse, blood oxygen levels and blood pressure. She's a retired nurse. When the doctor phoned he said he would try and keep OH out of hospital. Then a paramedic practitioner arrived, but OH was a bit calmer by then, and he tested positive for flu. So much for the flu jab - he was really poorly. So he's now on three lots of pills, except that our pharmacy didn't have the anti-viral one. They suggested we try another chemist, but our village is cut off with the floods. Where's Noah when you need him.

We finally got to bed about 3 am. Today has passed in a bit of a blur as I am so tired, totally worn out. I'm just off to bed, hoping tomorrow will be a better day for both of us.

One job is ironing it didn't get done yesterday with going out for a pub meal and we had visitors and hairdresser yesterday morning.

GS2 is staying the night, it's DD and SIL2's wedding anniversary and they are going out for a meal. I will pick GS up after school. OH's turn to cook and we will have sausage and mash as its GS2's favourite.

This morning I will be making mince pies and wrapping some more presents.

My mother always made some with and some without as my sister hated icing.

The dreaded ironing , I did mine yesterday .
The weather here is brighter also.

I've just given my kitchen cupboard doors a clean with sugar soap and the oven door,
I would have done more but I was up a lot during the night with my shoulder and fingers throbbing ,
I blame the damp weather for my arthritic fingers aching.

B has a Drs appointment at 9.30 his throat still raw

I then need to go for bread , I had none for toast this morning so had to have cereal,
I'm running low on milk also,
We don't really use it apart from me on cereal, B hates milk so I only buy a 2 pint carton each week.

Oma, no icing on the mince pies just a dusting of icing sugar. I do put marzipan and icing on the Christmas cake though. Usually a Christmas Eve job!

B must be so sick of the sore throat, they really get you down.

We have Tesco delivery tomorrow night, so I will be updating that throughout the day,

Waitrose delivery for me this afternoon, I wonder what I have forgotten, not that I have to feed everyone like DD.

Daisy, what a worry for you, I hope J is feeling less stressed today. This virus seems to be bad around here too. Keep warm, look after yourself too.

Nanto, I can’t manage ironing bedding now, I am going to advertise for someone who does ironing.
