Just a quick hello while it is still "today".

We're back home, and have had a lovely day - I'll write more about it tomorrow, but it's definitely bed time now. Night night. xx

      Good morning.

Hope all those feeling poorly are better soon.

Lizzie, I bet your spare room looks nice now.
Its good to get rid of something you don't need.

We enjoyed the Santa run yesterday.
When we got home, we were saying we'd like to know how many bikes and quads took part.

No plans for us today, up to now.

Although his throat is still in a mess, I've had a look and it's all swollen and looks so sore.

          Good morning everyone.

Oh poor B Oma, I'm glad he's feeling a bit better but hope he's much better soon.

Daisy, good to hear you had a lovely day yesterday.

I bet the Santa Run was fun Nan2.

We loved the carol concert yesterday, followed by mulled wine and nibbles at a friends house. Very festive and nice

Aqua for me this morning. I have a flat tyre so OH is dropping me off and getting it sorted out. Hopefully a friend will bring me home.
We are going to see Auntie G this afternoon and take her birthday and Christmas cards.
          A very wet day here.

Lovely meal, turkey, sprouts, carrots roast pots. Followed by mince pies, blueberries and grapes. Just enough on the plate, too much puts me off. Tables of eight, hall was full, First School children entertained us. We pay 5Β£ for this We certainly are spoiled in our village. Drivers picking up if you do not have transport. Board games as usual on Wednesday. We pay Β£5 for the meal and that is divided up and goes to charity.

Mmmm, that meal sounds lovely Plant. Your village is a lovely place to live.

Oma, auntie was very well she looked 100% better than when we last saw her a few weeks ago. She has made very good recovery from her broken hip. We had coffee and mince pies and spent the afternoon with her. She doesn't feel ready for going out yet, which I can understand.

The car really needs 4 new tyres so we are going with that. We suspected as much. One of them is the original tyre from when the car was new in 2016!
The garage hadn't been able to get us on the phone as the signal isn't good out where auntie lives. Therefore they hadn't been able to replace the tyres without our permission and by the time we got there it was after 5. He will do them in the morning .

It has rained heavily all day long.

Time to try and catch up a bit.

We had a lovely day with DIL1 and family yesterday. One thing we really wanted to achieve was to get Eva and their new, very lively Border Collie cross (named Daisy!) used to each other, and preferably friendly. Eva was very excited when we got there, so I took her for a walk round the block, and arranged to meet Daisy half way round and walk them back together. Daisy was a bit boisterous, but Eva took it all calmly and ignored behaviour she didn't like. After just a few minutes they walked calmly together, into the back garden and finally into the house. Such a relief.

DIL cooked a delicious roast dinner and GS2 and his girlfriend, S (who live about half a mile away) came. DIL's mother and step-mother both called in as we hadn't seen them for over a year. So we had a good chat. GS1 was out for most of the day but back in time for dinner.

It was a lovely day, but I was tired by the time we got home.

OH had an optician's appointment this afternoon. He wasn't feeling very well so I took him and did a bit of shopping while he was there. He's coughing a lot and I think he's in for a nasty cold. Great timing, and he does look quite poorly this evening. We were going to get the Christmas decorations down, but OH wasn't well enough to go up into the loft. We've got to go back to the opticians tomorrow with his glasses because he hasn't had them long and they will put new lenses in the existing frames, hopefully.

I've still got a few cards to write, including the local ones. OH usually delivers them, but I think it might fall to me this year.

I've read everyone's posts, but forgive me for not commenting. I need an early night as well.

                          Good morning.

Daisy, sorry to hear OH isn't very well. Hope he feels better soon.

Plant, sounds like you had a lovely meal.

Gem, good to hear Auntie is making a good recovery.

Hubby going for his Tuesday meet up, so I'm going into town as well.
Need a bit of shopping from the butcher and then have a browse in the shops.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

Library for me this morning then meeting a friend in town for our annual pre Christmas lunch.
As I do not have my car OH will give me a lift to the library on her way to golf. The library won't be open for another 20 minutes or so, but the building will as they host the post office, so I can wait comfortably inside.

I hope all poorly ones feel better this morning.

                              Morning ladies

                              Daisy
Sounds like J is in for a cold , I'm sure it won't hurt not having the decorations up ,
It's hard work getting stuff out of the loft without feeling poorly , so I imagine he won't have the energy at the moment.

I hope the tyres are sorted today,
At least you don't have to wait in the cold for the library to open,

                              Nanto
                              Enjoy your browse

I need to pop to Sainsbury's and go to sports direct for golf balls for part of GSs secret Santa , B drew him this year ,
I got stuck with MIL but it was easy I made a sweet hamper for her.

                                Good afternoon everyone.

Nanto, I hope you enjoyed your browse round the shops. Did you buy anything?

Gem, I hope you have enjoyed your pre-Christmas lunch with your friends. Will your car be fixed today?

Oma, I'm sure GS will appreciate your, or rather B's Secret Santa gift. The sweet hamper was a good idea for your MIL.

My OH is feeling very poorly today, so I went to take his glasses into the opticians to get them checked, and luckily they can just replace the lenses. They'll phone when the lenses are ready, but it might not be until the New Year. It depends when the lab is open, I suppose. Fortunately it's not urgent.

I don't seem to have done much since I got home, except make sure my patient is having plenty of fluids. I'm just going to do a few jobs then take Eva for walkies.
