    Good morning ladies.

Enjoy shopping Nan2. I may do chicken stew today. I haven't decided yet.

Lizzie, I'm glad the cyst drainage had helped, and that you are feeling better.

Two new bags and a good meal out, a successful day Daisy

My massage really helped, my shoulders were so tight. I was late getting there, as there were some roadworks along the way, with temporary traffic lights. The slowest I have known. For some reason each convoy of cars at the green light had to follow a small car driven very slowly by one of the workers. I happened to be first at my queue, and felt as though I was in a ceremonial parade!
Still no internet. I will update that thread,

Library this morning but also a meeting. We meet in the community centre which the library is part of so its easy for me to do a little library work before and after the meeting.
We need a small amount of shopping, I will do that this afternoon.
Golf competition day for OH. Its fine and bright but I imagine the course will be quite soggy!

        Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, sometimes just having a day with nothing much to remark on is a blessing! I can picture and smell that chicken stew - it will be delicious.

Lizzie, it's great to hear you're feeling better, and your cyst has been successfully drained. I hope the cough mixture works as well. I was pleased with the handbags, and one of them has a shoulder strap with it, the other one's handles are long enough to carry on my shoulder so they are both quite versatile.

Oma, what a total nightmare getting to the hospital yesterday. I think our roads are so crowded any sort of accident sends the area into gridlock as people try to find their way round. Thank goodness the car driver is stable. Having to spend so long driving round for a parking spot must have felt like the last straw. As Gem says, you need to think about your and B's health as well.

Gem, you must be feeling pleased that your shoulders are more comfortable. I had to smile at you being in the ceremonial parade at the roadworks. It reminded me of how terrified I was having a police escort leading me through a First Nation reservation in America, years ago. The rest of the family were asleep in the car and I had no idea why I'd been told to follow the cop car. At least your slow journey felt special in a nice way!

It's a beautiful sunny day here, but very cold. After our busy day yesterday I'm feeling tired and lethargic. It's frustrating because I wanted to get some jobs done, but hopefully I'll feel better this afternoon.

Rest and take it easy Daisy. I know it's frustrating, but you have to follow your body if it's telling you to rest.

Busy morning for me with the meeting plus library duties before and after.
I bought my Christmas stamps from the post office guy. He was busy most of the morning but I nipped in at a quiet moment

So sunny here I hope OH is enjoying the golf.

A nice bright cold day here. Gardener arrived and spent 2 hours, the borders look very much better. He is a very gentle soul and doesn’t like cutting things back. Apart from that the day has been quiet.

Busy day for you Daisy. Handbags sound a good find, I suppose many ladies buy them for a special occasion and never use them again. Now don’t overdo it, lunch out was a good idea and sounded delicious.

Mil back in hospital Oma, what do the hospital say? Visiting and finding a space is very stressful for you both. surely the medics can’t let this situation continue for ever with Mil in and out almost daily. You must consider yourselves too.

Gemini, I am pleased you are finding the deep water exercise good for you. thanks for reminding me about the stamps, another job for tomorrow.

Yes, best to get the stamps before the post office queues get longer Plant
I think I will write my cards tomorrow.

Just read the crash yesterday a 17 yr old girl died and the 19 yr old driver is seriously injured,
It was first reported that he was cut out and in a stable condition,
                Those poor families 😞

                  How awful Oma

Oma, how awful about the road accident.
                Hows MIL.

I made 7 meals with the chicken stew. Keep us going through winter.

She isn't well today , SIL was in and said all she wanted to do was sleep,
I know it's awful but we feel she's coming to the end of her life now.
Having said that she is a very determined woman so may suprise us all yet again.

Oma, it must be hard to know what to think about your MIL. Do you think she was sleeping a lot because of medication, an infection or just tired. She's really reached a point where she needs constant care, but I know she's resisting moving from her home.

What a tragic accident, and truly awful for their families and their friends. I'm sure their whole community is in shock. I don't know how this accident happened, but it's also awful for the driver of the lorry. I do wish there were more restraints on young, inexperienced drivers to help to keep them safe.

Nanto, that chicken stew was well worth making. A nice addition to your freezer meals.

Plant, what a lovely gardener. I'm pleased for you that your borders look better. I also think it's often better not to cut things back for the winter. Leaving even bare stems on a plant gives it a little bit of frost protection and well as possibly providing shelter for insects etc. The handbags aren't what I would call posh, dressy bags - just casual slouchy ones with lots of zips and pockets, but both of them look brand new.

Gem, I hadn't thought about stamps yet, but it's time I did. I bought cards yesterday when I was shopping, but still need a few more. You certainly had a busy morning. I'm sure the post office guy was pleased to be busy. It shows there's a demand for the service. Do you still feel better for the massage and deep water exercise? I hope the day stayed fine for OH's golf.

I've been very tired all day, but managed to do a few loads of washing, a tiny bit of ironing and a few odd jobs. I didn't take Eva out till it had gone dark and we were about half way through our walk when the battery ran out in my torch. It was pitch black, with no street lights or even lights from the houses. I really didn't feel like going out at all but I know it's good for me to get some exercise every day, but I was cross I hadn't thought to charge my torch up beforehand. OH has spent most of the day steam cleaning the stair carpet. My pink Crocs had marked the risers on the stairs, and a couple of days ago I managed to tread a lot of mud through the house and up the stairs. So a good clean was needed, and OH has had to go over them a couple of times.

                        Good morning ladies.

MIL might surprise you. With mam many a time we thought it was the end, then she would bounce back.

Daisy, it like a bag with plenty of pockets.

Plant, your gardener sounds very good. Glad the borders are looking tidy.

                        No plans for us today.

                          Morning ladies.
Just grabbing breakfast before going out to aquafit, so I will post properly later. Cold and frosty out so I will need to get my car warmed up!

                            Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, it's always lovely to start the day with a butterfly. Thank you. Yes, I like plenty of pockets in a bag as well, but I do end up putting more clutter in than I really need.

Gem, it's no fun having to defrost our cars in this cold weather. I hope yours started ok.

It's bright and sunny here, but there was frost overnight. OH used my car yesterday and forgot to cover the windscreen, but it will soon defrost in the sun.

I feel better than yesterday, but am going to take it easy. OH is finishing off the carpets rather than going to his mate's.

Oma, I hope MIL is feeling less confused today.

Good morning everyone, I hardly ever use a bag, I always have my phone with me and everything I need is on it. I need a bag sometimes for keys etc.

We get a voucher each year from our Postal code lottery for a Christmas ornament house, they are very popular!!! I have given them away over the years though, I showed my friend in the UK a photo and she loves them. If all goes to plan DS1 and DIL will be going to England by boat in January so I thought I would see if I could get a full set for her before they go. I had a few myself then on our free site this morning a lady offered her collection, we had to let her know which numbers we wanted, I must have been very quick because all I needed. I asked her what she wanted, she said, nothing, or a bar of chocolate, so, I went to the shop and got a tin of Quality Street, she was delighted, well, her husband was!!! They offer their vouchers on the site, but, some people take a photo of the voucher, use the photo for the code then the one that goes with the voucher finds out it has been used!
