Lizzie, I love swede, might cook some today.

The birds were looking and perching on the bird feeder so I have just filled it for them. Not good on my feet in the garden on the grass so didn’t attempt anything else. I have a gardener coming again this week but he charges £60 an hour. We have about 3/4 acre, not all borders. We have a large fence with a rose climber fencing off my bit but we also have a front courtyard behind the garages, besides an orchard. Sil is no gardener but he cuts all the grass. My DD doesn’t garden!, she prefers the gymn!

Gemini, well done for getting an Aqua class booking. Pleased the trip to see Abba went well, were the cats okay and pleased to see you?

Oma, I certainly need a gardener. I hope Mil is getting stronger and soon be able to come home, I hope she doesn’t go down hill again.

Daisy, I hope all is well with you, take care.

A late Good Tuesday morning greeting from me.

Nanto, you must be pleased you got the lawn done yesterday, and the lawnmower can have its winter break. I hope it's not too cold in town.

Plant, what a house full you had next door with all 4 GGC and parents, but I'm sure it was great to see all the little ones playing together. What do they think of their new baby cousin? When will you get the results of the blood test? I hope your gardener gets all the jobs done that you want, so the garden can take care of itself until the Spring.

Gem, welcome back. I look forward to hearing about your ABBA Voyage trip. You must both have been chilled through to the bone after that journey. It dose take time to warm up again, but hopefully M cuddling up on your lap helped, as well as the hot chocolate. I do hope the pool will be nice and warm for Aqua tomorrow. Was the library busy? Hopefully lots of people are taking books out to read relaxing by a cosy fire during the long dark evenings. I hope your geraniums survive the winter. I love to see them but don't like handling them because of the smell, so I leave them to their fate in the garden and get new ones next summer. It's cruel, I know, but I couldn't have them indoors.

Lizzie, your GD is a very lucky girl, but no wonder she was delighted with those pretty rings. I wonder what she will create when she does the workshop with you. I'm surprised more people don't use swedes. I think they're quite versatile and use them in casseroles, vegetable mashes, with sweet potatoes, carrots or parsnips, and they are one of the few things that are really cheap. Fingers crossed for you this afternoon at the physio's.

Oma, I bet you look all glammed up now with your cut and colour. Why did your hairdresser move salons? Nice and convenient for you though.

It's cold here today. There was a slight frost overnight - the roofs were white this morning. I was glad we'd wrapped up some of the tender plants yesterday. My OH is still doing most of the cooking - and doing very well! But yesterday I was looking at what needed to be used up from the fridge and decided a cauliflower curry would be a nice warming meal for a cold evening. OH wasn't so sure, but went along with it anyway. We prepared and cooked it together, and I think he was quite surprised when it turned out ok. Another dish to add to his growing list of meals he can make.

I'm catching up with some washing today. Otherwise a lazy day.

The salon my hairdresser was in she only rented a chair and she has a huge clientele,
So needed to branch out into a shop of her own,
It's lovely and in a nice area she works five days a week 8-8 and can't take anymore customers on so she can rent one of her chairs out if needed , she will see how it goes.

SIL text, the ward MIL is on has the flu on it so it's a closed ward and they are asking everyone to wear masks,
We all agreed it's not safe for B to be going amongst it so we are not going till it's safe to do so .

        It's raining and dark again.

        Lizzie
We like swede and carrot mash, and it's one of the cheaper veg,
We use it in soup or broth too.

        Gem
Hope you have enjoyed Aqua today and it was warm.

Well its dark wet and cold. Well cold outside.

Oma, hope the hair appointment went well.
Yes,best if you both avoid going to the hospital.

Lizzie,we like swede in our mashed potatoes. I buy the frozen swede.

Oma, your hairdresser is doing very well. I wish her luck with her own salon, and hope she can rent out a chair to help with the running costs. I do hope your MIL doesn't catch flu while she's in hospital. It must be very difficult for the staff when something like that happens, especially if it's a ward of frail patients. I agree, it would be foolish for B to go while there's a risk of infection.

Nanto, we're doing sweet potato, parsnip and swede mash tonight. It's salmon, so I will do some parsley sauce to go with that, and some green veggies.

Yesterday I was admiring an acer in our front garden. It still had most of its leaves, and they were flame red and looked good next to the grey-green of a buddleia bush. Today, the few leaves that are left are browned to a crisp with last night's frost.

It's been cold all day, but there have been moments when the sun came out. I took Eva out for a good walk in the Forest. Mine was the only car in the car park, and I didn't see a single person all the way. It was very peaceful - just a few birds chirping away.

Daisy, that must have been peaceful, if chilly.

I buy frozen diced swede sometimes Nan2 , it saves all that chopping! I used to get it for my mum and decided it was a good idea .

Yes, stay well away from the hospital Oma, they are germ spreaders at the best of times! At least you know she is safe and looked after.
It's aqua tomorrow, it was library this morning

Busy morning at the library, another of the school visits, and the post office is getting busier.
I have just been to feed GS1's cat and guinea pig. DD is away overnight,GS at his dad's. His dad lives closer than I do but forgot last time she went away so she doesn't trust him. They live fairly close to the stadium so I will drop in and feed them again on my way to aqua in the morning.

Salmon seems a popular choice! Does any one remember when you only saw salmon at Christmas and it came in a tin - red salmon or pink salmon?

Plant, I've just noticed our posts earlier in the day crossed, and I've only just seen yours. I'm sorry - I wasn't ignoring you. My goodness your family garden is a lot to look after. It must be so frustrating for you when you can see what you'd like to do, but can't manage it. Still, I'm sure it looks very good, with lots of interest. If the house very old?

I am taking care, and OH nags me just to make sure. But I do find having a good walk most days actually seems to help give me energy - once I've recovered with a short rest and a cup of tea. Eva never says no to a walk, of course.

                      Good morning.
                      Snowing here, lovely.

Glad we don't have any plans involving anything outside.

                      Plant, you need a gardener.

                        Good morning ladies.

No snow in our part of the county Nan2. Stay cosy

I love salmon, and yes Daisy I remember that tinned stuff, a 'luxury' food in those days.

Cold here but I don't think snow is forecast. Aqua for me this morning. I need to feed the pets at DD1's on the way and pop into M&S for blueberries afterwards. We have a Tesco delivery this afternoon but the blueberries at M&S are so much nicer.
Bone infusion for OH this morning. She is hoping not to feel as rough as she did with the last one. It took a day or so to kick in last time, so time will tell.

Still no flaming internet, thank goodness for next doors. Our TV isn't connected to theirs though nor the ring doorbell.

                          Morning ladies

Daisy I still like pink boneless tinned Salmon,
I have one in the fridge, I often buy a cheap tin for Storm he loves it😁

I'm sure Eva loves her walks but a short walk would be just as good for her,
Don't push yourself , although I'm sure you know your limits xx

I do hope S is ok and this one doesn't have the same effect but you never can tell can you,
A few days of resting won't hurt her even though she will want to be golfing 😁

I like M&S fruit their Oranges and Grapefruit are always lovely ,
Having said that I bought a punnet of Figs a few weeks back and by the next day they had white fungus all over them.
Just my luck to pick the ones that were not as fresh .

                          Nanto
We had snow from about 3 am till 7 am but it's raining now so it's washed away apart from on the car roofs .
B needs to take his glasses to Specsavers this morning then frame has cracked, luckily he still has his old ones.

Just started snowing again but I doubt it will lay as it's wet .

good morning we haven't the snow here as yet, it is forecast and very cold.

Gem, I hope that the infusion goes well for S.

I have just read that swede is a "forgotten" veg here, mostly grown for cattle!!!! No wonder if I buy it here it is imported from the UK!!!

I went to the physio and the cyst is being drained on Monday, he said my knee is needing replacing, as we have known for almost 20 years. He is going to try it with the cyst draining plus the prednison injections, hoping that it helps.

I went to the gym at 7am, in the pouring rain, I didn't think it was raining like it was. Arrived at the gym, one of the rooms was flooded! It is the one with the circuit training at 7am so all hands on deck with buckets and towels to dry it up.

I need to go and do the plants, but, will see if it dries up before lunch.

I forgot to mention, I got all my washing dry out on the balcony yesterday, I am pleased I did it yesterday and not today.

Gem, I hope all goes well for Sue.

I woke up to a white out, not forecasted. It has cleared now so I will be able to get to board games this afternoon. I still buy swede, like to have it occasionally.

Nanto, When I was fit, it worked quite well, I am so frustrated not to be able to get my hands dirty. Weather permitting, a gardener is coming again this Thursday but he charges £60 an hour, very expensive around here.

Lizzie, how do you keep so active with a painful knee? Swede used to be considered cattle food here.

Daisy, I hope the weather allows you to have your walk if you feel it is good for you.
