Nothing much done here either Daisy, I slept quite late as I had bad cramp, had to resort to painkillers.

Gemini, I hope your massage relieves your pain. I don’t have a ring doorbell where you can see who is at the door but next door do.

Daisy, I would not mind if fireworks were only sold to people who organise displays and have a permit. I hope Eva isn’t upset by them. They get into the wrong hands these days. Pleased the consultant was pleased with your results.

Nanto, I hope the fireworks go off okay, the food sounds good.

I have kept my landline as some of my friends do not use their mobiles. I must confess I still prefer my landline.

DD came with Storm, she was giving him a good long walk so doesn't have to go out tonight.
We keep our landline as GS uses it if his phone runs down and he needs to be intouch,
He learned it by heart as a toddler,
DD tends to ring us on it as well,
Plus all the family know we don't take our mobiles upstairs and That we have a landline in the bedroom,
So in emergency's they ring on that,

It's so dark and wet here it's dreary.

Hallo everyone, it has been the warmest November 5th, ever, here today!! 18 degrees this afternoon, I went for a lovely bike ride round the nature reserve, so many golden colours on the trees!

I was expecting a friend at 15:30, only I read the message wrong, it is 17:30!

DS1 and DIL go to New York tomorrow, yet again, for a concert, it seems a long way to go to a concert but it is what they both enjoy. They girls are very independent so will be fine at home, if there are any problems, I am here! Just hope not a bike this time.

We have fireworks for New Year Gem, I know of a few with dogs that either go away to holiday parks where no fireworks are allowed or to a kennel in the middle of nowhere! We had a jack Russel when the boys were young, she never bothered at all, just slept through it all, the dog I had later was OK until midnight came then he had to hide!!

I don't know of anyone here that still has a landline, just thinking.

Plant, no you take magnesium for the cramp or use the oil?

I have sold a few things this week on Vinted, I will put some more on this weekend.

I was going to suggest that Plant tries magnesium for her cramp, but you beat me to it Lizzie! I started taking it after my hip replacement ( one year ago today!) for cramp and I still take it. DS suggested it as it also helps reduce blood pressure (according to him!). I take tablets but you can get it in oil and cream form. Also helps sleep if you use it at night!
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

Gem, it sounds like a lovely area where your Auntie G lives.

P and M sound as though they cope well with the fireworks and are ok in the house. Lots of people have to make special arrangements for their dogs when there are likely to be fireworks, and I imagine there are a lot of cats who are just as frightened. Oma and I both follow the life of a particular dog on FB and her owners have taken her to a remote country holiday cottage because she is so frightened.

Eva hates sudden random noises, so not just fireworks and thunder, but even the teenagers next door playing swing ball in the summer terrified her. It's been pretty quiet tonight, but she clearly needed to go in the garden for a toilet break but wouldn't step outside. Her nose was going 19 to the dozen, so I presume she could smell them. In the end I bribed her with a treat but she ran back into the house as soon as she could. She will be at DS2's tomorrow night and that is likely to be much noisier. Hopefully having Cooper for company will help.

Plant, cramp is so painful, no wonder you didn't sleep too well. I hope the Magnesium helps. My OH says the same about our landline - he prefers it to his mobile.

Lizzie, I think it's been the warmest Bonfire Night here as well. It's so easy to misread times in 24 hours! I have to do the mental arithmetic, 17-12 = 5 o'clock!! It's funny how some dogs don't seem to mind fireworks. One of our Yorkies, who were litter mates, was quite frightened. The other wasn't bothered by them. He was out in the garden one night when a spent rocket landed right next to him. He just looked at it, sniffed and carried on doing what he was doing. Well done on your Vinted successes this week.

WeeGranny, it's hard to believe it's a whole year since your hip operation. It sounds as though you have made a brilliant recovery. I've just looked up what magnesium supplements are recommended for in addition to muscle cramps, and I'm surprised the benefits aren't more widely known, although there was a little warning at the end of the long list of benefits that medical advice is recommended as excessive use can lead to side effects.

              Good morning ladies.

Daisy, the fireworks were good. Didn't expect much from them considering how old they were. We had a load of sparklers as well.

Lizzie, it was very mild here last night when we letting the fireworks off.

              No plans here for today.

Going to unload the dishwasher, then its coffee time

                Good morning ladies.

                Very mild here too Nan2.

Plant, those night cramps must be getting you down. Worth trying the magnesium maybe as has been suggested.

Lizzie, no one seems to want the things I have on Vinted recently! I will make a trip to the hospice charity shop if they don't sell soon!

After an energetic aqua class, then a sports massage with the heated underblanket I wasn't sure I would be awake enough to drive home yesterday!!
I made myself a cuppa when I got in and didn't do much else yesterday apart from cooking our meal.

Little E day today. I think we will go to a nearby farm shop cafe with a play area. Now he doesn't nap we have a longer day to fill - and more time to do things.

                  Morning Nanto, ladies.

Fireworks around here were all done by 10 pm,
In the street behind us they had a little street party and lots of fireworks but once they were done that was it,

I have been for my shopping at Aldi we were there for them opening at 8
Picking MIL up at 11.30 to take her to Morrisons, I hope she's in a good mood I'm not putting up with her nonsense today.

We are on the lookout for a new kettle
Ours broke so we bought a very nice glass one that lights up but my goodness it takes forever to boil.
                  It's like watching paint dry,
I looked online and it gets bad reviews for the same problem with others who have one,
I should have looked before we bought it.

It's dull and damp but quite warm at this end of the country.

There were some very loud fireworks very close to us last night. The cats were not happy I'm glad we were in with them.
They were safely in with cat flap locked and we closed all blinds and curtains throughout the house to deaden the noise.

                      Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Nanto, that coffee looks tempting. It's quite surprising that the fireworks were ok after so long. I hope you have a relaxing day.

Oma, I do hope MIL behaves herself when you're shopping. We had a succession of kettles, and none of them worked that well, so we got a Dualit one. It's several years old now and still like new - provided we remember to descale it regularly. I'd got used to how good it is until we were on holiday in August and the kettle at the caravan we rented was awful. It was cheap plastic and had an exposed element covered in black goo which kept breaking off into the water, the lid didn't fit properly and you had to pour it over the sink because the water went everywhere. Good luck with whatever you choose.

Gem, I hope you are feeling the benefits of the Aqua class and the massage yesterday. Does your hip feel better? Have a lovely day with GS3. I'm sure he will love the play area at the farm shop cafe. Is it indoors? It's mild enough here to be out without a coat today. Not very seasonal, but I'm not complaining.

I should have been meeting friends for lunch today, but I've cried off. I woke with a thumping headache and felt a bit light headed. It would have been a bit of a rush as well, as we've got to take Eva over to DS2's by mid-afternoon to give her chance to settle before it's dark and the fireworks get going - they will have a lot more noise than we've had. Also with three lots of treatment at the hospital tomorrow I'm going to take it easy today.

Oh dear Daisy, yes it certainly sounds as though you should take it easy today.
I'm often a bit sore the day after the massage, then feel better later. Not too bad today.
Little E loved the cafe and play area, and met a couple of little ones to play alongside.
It has indoor and outdoor play areas, we more mostly in the indoor one.
He had the children's lunch box which contains sandwich, pom bear crisps and fruit or little cupcake. We went with cake as he has a lot of fruit at home and here, cake is a treat

Gem, what a lovely time you've had with GS3. I think he's at a lovely age where he happily plays alongside other children, and I bet the children's lunch box went down a treat, especially the cake. I do hope P and M are ok tonight. Hopefully the fireworks won't be as loud as last night. Can you do anything to calm them? A lot of dogs relax with soothing music - like Classic FM's gentle music for bonfire night.

The headache eventually went better, but I haven't done much today. I took Eva round the block, thinking that a bit of fresh air would do me good. We took Eva over to DS2's about 3.30. The house always seems very quiet without her.

GD1 isn't well and is off school, and GD2 arrived home while we were there, so it was lovely to see both of them. GD1 had been playing Minecraft online with her cousin, GS2. They get on very well together, and GD likes his girlfriend, too.

Daisy, you did right to cry off if you didn't feel up to it.
                            Hope GD1 feels better soon.

Oma, hope you had a lovely shopping trip with MIL.

Oma, glad little E enjoyed the cafe and play area.

I did some batch cooking for the freezer this morning.
Late afternoon sis in law and hubby came for an hour, and stayed for 2 hours.

I've just done a Sainsburys order for next week.
I used to shop at Sainsburys a few years ago, and have changed back to them instead of using Asda.

Nanto, I've just done our Sainsbury's order for tomorrow evening. The batch cooking will come in useful, especially if you have unexpected visitors.

I've actually run out of books on my Kindle. I usually keep a virtual pile of TBR (to be read), so I'm off to do some book shopping.

Then I think I'll be ready for an early night.

Daisy, hope all goes well at the hospital. Did you sleep well?

Hubby out later for his Friday meet up. I'm going to make sure everything is tidy, then get all the windows cleaned. Must charge up the window vac.

Dinner is sorted, we are having one of the meals i batch cooked yesterday.
