    Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, sewing badges on clothes is hard. How brilliant to have someon who does it for you. Will ou be shopping as well?

Gem, enjoy your lunch with your school friends. I hope OH's golf doesn't get rained off. It's sunny here - at the moment.

Oma, I made two lots of bara brith last week - the recipe is for a 2 lb loaf but I use two one pound tins. We both like it, so it doesn't last long.

No plans for today except a telephone appointment with the Consultant. It's timed for 4.30, but realistically could be any time. If it dries up a bit I might try and get a bit of gardening done while the sun's shining. It's that or the ironing, and I know which I'd rather do!

I have just sliced it ,
I managed 10 nice sized slices , I have left two slices out for later,
I have sandwiched the other slices between squares of baking parchment and put them in the freezer
That way I can get a couple out at a time as I need them,
I went a bit wild and added dark red cherries to mine ,

We went to our shopping mall this morning and I got into Asda and I felt quite faint,
Luckily the pharmacy has chairs and as we were passing I sat down for five minutes,
I managed to get the shopping we needed but I said to B I have to go home,
The car was in Sainsbury's car park at the other end of the mall,
      The walk seemed miles away.
I came in and layed on the sofa I felt very wobbly.
I'm ok now just feel tired ,
I checked my sugar it was fine so I'm not sure what it was,

B being B and cheeky said my body was in shock because I had been baking 🫣🤣🤣

Oh Daisy, I adore Bara Brith, only had it in Wales. Sunny here, I would love to get in the garden and get my hands dirty. Daren’t risk it, DD would never forgive me if I had a fall. Pleased what the gardener did yesterday, he is a professional gardener and works on gardens for shows. Very expensive, £30 an hour. He worked on the garden very near to the windows and where the blue bells will flower.

Gemini, enjoy your lunch with friends, I am meeting some old friends for lunch on Thursday, only meet them once a year. They are old swimming friends.

DD and Sil are on the boat going to their shared accommodation in Normandy. Nobody was free to go with them this time, I don’t feel up to it now. GD1 is in charge.

Oma, I hope all is well with Mil, I hope she is keeping well using her breathing aids. Are the nurses still visiting her?

Oma, cheeky man, is he implying that he does all the baking? I wonder what caused your faint feeling, not a nice feeling

Oma, I wonder if the fainting feeling was reaction to all the stress you've had in the last couple of weeks. Did you check your blood pressure and blood oxygen levels as well as your blood sugar? It sounds as though you need to rest, whatever caused it. I hope you feel better later on, but please take it easy, and definitely no housework. Sending hugs. xxx

Plant, I'd never made bara brith until I met my OH. His mother used to make it often, and I still remember it being better than mine! Your gardener sounds good, and you must be pleased to know you'll be able to see those lovely early snowdrops when they peep through. I noticed today one of our Helebores is in full flower. I'm sure you're looking forward to seeing your swimming friends on Thursday. How long are DD and SIL away for? At least they should have a calm crossing today - it's nowhere near as windy as yesterday.

It's been a lovely sunny morning here and quite mild so I decided to take Eva for a long walk. We were out for about 1 ½ hours. There were a few visitors about but it was very quiet once we got deeper into the Forest. The Council-run campsite is now closed for the winter so we walked down there and back via Eva's favourite swimming/paddling spot. The water levels are still a bit low, but she enjoyed it. I was ready for a sit down when we got home!

Well B does do all the cooking and baking now 😁
SIL was at MILs yesterday said she was fine and other SIL was there today.
She has carers going in each morning.

I hope DD&SIL have a lovely break and the crossing is smooth.

I did test my BP that was ok also, I think I'm just so tired at the moment .
But I did feel rather unwell for a few hours.
We have had rain most of the day so you are lucky to get a little sunshine to go for a walk,
It has been warm though so that's a bonus.

Daisy, i did get a few bits in town.

Oma, superglue will not stick to a Belstaf jacket, and if you try it,it can cause damage.

I've never had Bara Brith, but i think i am going to have to try it.

About 3ish today, it suddenly went very dark,it was like nightime.
An hour later the heavens opened, and its still raining now.

Oh dear Oma, take it easy xx

Daisy I hope the consultant phone appointment went well.

I had a lovely afternoon with my friends. I am so glad we have all started to meet together again after all these years. We made another lunch date for December.
OH and partners decided the club house was a better option on a wet morning. I don't blame them.

Gem, I'm glad you had such a lovely time with your friends. I'm sure your OH would rather be out actually playing golf, but on the other hand I would think a morning in the club house, enjoying good coffee and the company of her fellow golfers was also enjoyable.

Nanto, it's funny, you can go shopping "just to look round" and still come back with a bag full of essentials.

Oma, no wonder you're tired after the dramas you've been through. I hope a couple of days of taking it easy will make you feel better again.

Plant, have DD and SIL arrived safely in Normandy? How is your new GGS getting on? I hope his mummy and daddy are getting some sleep.

The Consultant didn't ring until about 6 pm, but she was very happy with my latest blood test results - so full steam ahead for treatment on Friday.

                      Good morning. Its raining again.

Daisy, glad the consultant was happy with your results.

When we did the cupboard what used to be the toy cupboard a couple of months ago, we found a box of fireworks and two packets of sparklers.
We are assuming DS1 must have bought them when he stayed here.
Not sure how good they might or might not be,but we are going to give them a go.
DS1 joining us tonight for pie peas.

                        Morning Nanto,Ladies.

                        Nanto
                        Hopefully they still work ,
I would imagine they would being in a dry place.

So pleased you got the go ahead from consultant and your bloods were good ,
Your going in the right direction.

It's wet and dull at the moment ,
I might go to Farm foods this morning,

B busy trying to connect our ring doorbell ,
We changed back to sky yesterday and it's not connecting to something, same with the house phone we can ring our but not get calls,
They said give it till Friday then ring them.

                          Good morning everyone.

Nan2, we had some sparklers for GS1s birthday , I hadn't had any for years. Enjoy tonight

Daisy, lovely positive news regarding your bloods.

Oma, our Ring doorbell reconnected after our Sky problem last week, but the landlines haven't (I'm glad about that, I never use the landline and most calls are ones we don't want!)

Aqua morning, and massage afternoon. My hip is quite sore this morning, so good timing . Wet and miserable morning here.

                            Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, enjoy your evening with DS1. I'm sure the fireworks will be ok. I used to love sparklers when I was a child. We always had them while the grown-ups were getting the fireworks ready!

Oma, what a nuisance about your house phone. It all seems to have got complicated, what with high speed fibre and the old copper network being closed down. I don't know when that's due to happen, or if it already has, but it all sounds complicated.

Gem, I never use our landline these days, but OH uses it and all his contacts seem to use the landline - probably because he's never given them his mobile number! Reception on my mobile is better than the land line. I'm sorry to hear you're hip is painful. I do hope the massage this afternoon eases it for you.

I don't seem to be getting much done this morning, apart from putting a load of towels in the washing machine. It's not raining at the moment, but is grey and dull - I'll have to dry them in the drier.

I'm going to take Eva for a walk soon. It's a balancing act between taking her out late enough to feel she's had her usual "evening" walk and getting her safely back home and settled before the fireworks start. She's terrified of them, poor thing.

Autumn seems to have arrived all at once this week. The group of oak trees just across the road from us have gone from green to glorious copper colours in just a few days. The horse chestnut outside our house has already dropped its leaves, and an Acer in the front garden is a beautiful rich orange-red colour. It all looks gorgeous, but I'll be glad when they start to show little green shoots again to say that Spring is here!

Daisy, I overheard in the changing area this morning one person saying she would have to stay in tonight as their dog was terrified of fireworks, and other saying a dog she knows has to go and stay with someone in a totally isolated area every year due to being so afraid.
It must be hard as fireworks can be tonight, last weekend and next weekend.
Our cats seem scared but we just get them in before dark until firework season is done .

It's a lovely country drive to my auntie G's, and we saw sone beautiful autumn colours on Monday.
