N.Trust group coffee morning with tombola, raffle etc. I needed to get the car out to pick up a friend but next door were having a tree removed and our drive and my garage door were blocked. Then the window cleaner arrived, so another car in our drive. Very good meeting, lots of lovely cakes. I am expecting a Waitrose delivery soon, then I intend to relax, nothing else planed.
Oma, Is Mil still in hospital? I hope that everything for her will be sorted when she goes home.
Gemini, I hope the dentist isn’t too expensive and painful. Pleased to hear that you seen to have finally shaken off the viruses you have been hit with recently.
Daisy, Your garden will be nice and tidy after you and your OH’s work. I am sure you are being sensible and not overdoing things.
Nanto, Beef stew sounds just the ticket now the weather is getting colder and darker. Enjoy your trip to town. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Hallo everyone, I have just managed to slice my thumb! I always warm the GD's never to use a knife towards them, so, I go and do it!! It seems to have stopped bleeding now. GS1 is calling in anytime so he can bandage it up for me.
I went to the pool yesterday to tell them I was stopping, she was really surprised, she has stopped my card, but, if I feel like I could manage a lesson now and again she will sign me in as a trial lesson! Which I thought was very good of her. I was in the car as it was blowing a gale with heavy showers so I carried on to the big garden centre with the food hall, it was very busy , it usually is though, I got what I wanted, I wanted 2 new plants for in here so got them in the pots when I returned home, then, I could hardly walk to had to call it a day!
I called at the neighbour on the next floor, I was on my way to the library so I went to the Lidl for a few things for her, I must say she looks better than she did last week, she had a scan last week for her bowels and is waiting for the results. She is so grateful for everything anyone does for her, she has help twice a day for shower, dressing etc, you hear some elderly complaining all the time, she has nothing but praise for what they do for her.
Gem, I hope the visit to the dentist went OK, I think I have to go next month.
Daisy, your garden will be ready for the winter now.
We have to vote tomorrow, I am not sure yet where I have to go, I think the school opposite here.

My goodness its cold today! I felt very chilly waiting for the bus home.
Lizzie, OUCH about your thumb! It was kind of the lady at the pool to let you do that, if and when you feel you can go.
Good meeting with cake sounds ideal Plant
The library was moderately busy but not as much as I thought it may be as it's half term.
I made some nice warming carrot and ginger soup when I got home.
All OK at the dentist, so just the check up to pay for. I had a nice lady to chat to on the bus journey home.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Gem, glad all was ok at the dentist.
Beef stew was done when we got home this morning. Six portions made.
Hubby asked if some could be made into a pie,so i made two.
The sun was out in town, but the wind was wild.
It calmed down about 4ish.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Hello everyone.
Ikt's been a busy day, and I'm ready for bed. I've not caught up will posts yet, though.
We've had a great day with the GDs. We went to collect them about 10am, and GD1 wanted to do a pumpkin, so we went to the pumpkin field on the way back to our house, and got three very nice, fresh ones. It was really pleasant this morning, sunny and just a bit windy. GD1 and OH washed the pumpkins and started to carve them in OH's wood turning shed.
I've just got a new engraving pen, and GD2 was keen to try it out. So she enjoyed experimenting with it while I made lunch. Then we did some painting and more experiments with the engraving tool. We finally took them home about 5 o'clock, with two very well-carved pumpkins which they were delighted with. We stayed for a cuppa and a chat, so didn't get home until 7.30. By then I was tired. OH made us a sandwich and I'm going to have an early night.

Morning ladies
Daisy
What a lovely day you had with the girls but no the wonder you were tired,
I hope you slept well.
Lizzie
Ouch , did you get it bandaged?
It's easily done isn't it.
Gem
At least you got your appointment this time , I bet you were pleased it didn't cost a lot😁
Enjoy your Aqua this morning, is M staying for tea or just a cupper and a catch up?.
Nanto
I have just cleaned my fridge , it's amazing what get spilt and stuck isn't it.
Did you do some pies for hubby?
MIL might be home today,
We went yesterday and she was full of herself , she isn't poorly as such just this oxygen levels is a problem,
I went to see the ward sister she said all her x-rays are clear she isn't on any different meds her oxygen has been up and down
But they will sort her oxygen for home.
While we were there the dietician came to check how she is eating she tried to tell the dietician she eats well,
But we told her she's lazy and rather than take one of the meals out of the freezer she will live on scrambled eggs on toast,
Or bacon sandwiches.
I said she has a freezer full of nutritional food plenty of different veg to choose from , all she has to do is take it out on a morning and put it in the oven at tea time but she's too lazy to do it and MIL agreed she said I just can't be bothered.
It proves a point she has put 5 lb on while in hospital because her meals are brought to her.
B has told her he isn't cooking anything else till she starts using what's there.

Oms, M is coming for a cuppa and catch up
My mum was like your MIL, just grabbing a corned beef sandwich and bag of crisps or slice of toast. We took her a good supply of ready meals and made her some ourselves, but like MIL couldn't be bothered.
She ate very well once in the care home and it was brought to her.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

I do try to be good, Breakfast is fine, lunch is the problem meal as I am not keen on sandwiches. Soup is okay, bought now, used to make my own. I try to eat veg.as much as I can. Not too keen on cereal, I like fruit and yogurt mainly for breakfast. Fish is a favourite meal. Cooking for one, the easy option is a ready meal, that would be fish or chicken. I do like veg. But get lazy sometimes and opt for chips and peas but not very often. I am enjoying swede again atm. What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Nanto, the grass is still growing quite quickly. I'm glad you managed to get yours cut today.
Gem, it's lovely to spend time with a friend and have a good chat. How was Aqua? Did you have the new instructor, or is that just on Mondays?
Oma, it's good to hear MIL is able to go home. The meals you and B take for her are basically "ready meals", although far better for her, so all she has to do is heat them. Does she have a microwave oven?
Plant, I'm not keen on sandwiches either, but they're easy for lunch. OH was out today, so I had a tomato sandwich, which is my favourite, and that was ok. I wouldn't be keen on cooking just for myself, but then would get bored with things like boiled eggs, beans on toast etc. You do well to keep a good variety, including vegetables etc.
Lizzie, how is your thumb? I hope it's not too painful.
WeeGranny, how did your cataract check up go? I hope the specialist was able to reassure you about the vision in that eye.
I slept well after our busy day yesterday, but have still felt tired for most of today. OH was with his car chums all day, and I really wanted to carry on with cleaning the windows. I did the living room windows at the front, and cleaned all the nose smudges off the glass part of the door to the hall. (These are dog nose smudges - not human ones!) I looked at the french windows and the double doors into the dining room, and decided enough was enough. They can wait till another day. I had a nice phone chat with a very good friend, and by then it was lunch time. Then after lunch I had a chat with DIL1. I read for a while and then took Eva out for a good walk. The walk I intended to do was very busy - half-term, so lots of family groups on bikes, and walking, lots of strange dogs and traffic with drivers more interested in spotting ponies than road hazards. So I walked out on to the moor, did a sort of loop and went home the way I'd come. Eva had a good run round. I don't walk in this area often as there are quaking bogs in places, and is very wet and muddy most of the time, but today it wasn't too bad. OH was home by the time we got back, and he'd put the kettle on ready for a much-needed cuppa. So it was quite a lazy day really.
My car goes in for a service tomorrow - I hope it's ok.

Morning ladies I've been up hours so two loads of washing done and dried ,
I need to go to Aldi this morning and SIL is ringing the hospital,
MIL didn't come out yesterday so we are hoping today,
I have to see the nurse first for results of my blood tests.
Then we can go for her if she's ready.
Daisy
Do you ever get worried Eva might get to close to the boggy bits? Sometimes you can't see them can you.
I always have wet nose smudges on the patio doors when Storm has been and water splashes, I put his bowls in front and he is a messy drinker😁
Plant
i thinks if we were on our own we would all get lazy but MIL has meals just to put in the oven,
She won't use her microwave, we laugh as she uses it for storage she puts her crisps and cakes in there 😁

Good morning, Daisy, the thumb is healing now, I do heal quickly, so they tell me!! You did have a busy day yesterday, plus a good walk with Eva.
I had to go to the surgery yesterday, my eye was hurting, I waited too long actually, that is me, I do have eye drops for the fluid, I now have to use them more often plus a gel to use. They do actually feel better already, with all my allergies I was blaming that! M next door makes the best face cream, she came with a new pot the other day, I thought that she had maybe put something different in, she hadn't, it wasn't her fault.
It actually looks like a brighter day so will get a bike ride in, that is about all I can do.
I have just been for some quark, it isn't the same as in the Uk. We call in French quark, one of the trainers from the gym was in France on holiday, he said you wouldn't believe how many supermarkets he visited before he found his quark, then when he did find it , it was 4 times the price that we pay here!!!
