Oma, your GS knows your cafe is always open

Daisy sometimes it's quite nice to cook at lunch time - it gets all that cooking and washing up over and you can relax! My OH isn't keen on a midday main meal or I would do it more often.

It was very cold drizzly and windy walking from the car park to the pool, but the water was OK. A busy class but we had some sad news that Ben our lovely Monday instructor has left. We knew his OH had cancer treatment last year, but apparently he is now at end of life stage I don't know if B will come back to work in time but I hope so.
The snow came off my windscreen easily and there was no ice about.
However I had to drive through flood water on my way
I came back but a different road as I didn't want to risk that twice.

      Daisy
Most likely Swedish meatballs and chips with peppercorn sauce , one of his favourites .

Your lucky with the sunshine it's so grey and dull still, rain has just stopped .
It's washed away all the snow except one large bit by our patio doors ,
Every time I go in the dining room I think it's Storm and do a double take 😆

Told you about the washing , I'm sure it's the gremlins making you do all that 😱😛

      Nanto
I hope she has some time off now bless her .

Gem, how heart-breaking for Ben and his husband. But he's doing the right thing in spending what time they have left with him. Perhaps he will come back later, poor chap. Driving through flood water can be scary, can't it. Our village centre was impassible yesterday with all the rain, but there were several optimistic drivers who thought they'd brave the Watersplash in the village, despite very clear marker posts. Two got stranded and one went off the road.

Oma, I was thinking about Swedish meatballs today! As you do. Our next door neighbours were going to your Brian's favourite place - Ikea - and it made me think I can't remember how long it is since I had a meal there. But I can't imagine my OH ever saying "Let's go to Ikea for lunch"!!

Nanto, your poor GD must be shattered. Does she find it easy to sleep when she's done a long stint like that, or does she go past it?

OH got the outside lights down today and all the decorations are now back in the loft. Needless to say, I was still finding washing to do, but also tidied out a kitchen cupboard. They all need doing, so I started with the smallest! Eva got a nice long walk this afternoon. The nights are getting a bit lighter, we got back just before 5 o'clock and it wasn't dark.

Good morning, what a sad time for the instructor and his partner Gem.xx

Daisy, it must be awful with all that water on the roads, we had high winds yesterday with showers, it looks like it will be dry today though so I will get my washing hung out.

The meeting went well last night, I was invited to take part by the management, the manager even did the coffee etc! She said as I am always there I had the right to know what the problems were. They got a lot sorted, the lady that is in charge of the group broke her neck about 11 years ago, I remember when I first started there I heard that, I had no idea who it was at the time. She has recovered, not for 100%, she works for 16 hours a week and this last year there have been too many problems and she was working far too long ,
it has taken a toll on the whole situation, the volunteers, not all, were taking over the situation and the town hall were not pleased with the situation. They hope that it is now all settled, I hope so as well, there is a New Years reception this evening, I (we) were thinking of not going but after the meeting I spoke with 2 of the men and we are going to go.

You are right Daisy, each day is a little longer light! Well, it should be if the sun appears!

I should do the kitchen cupboards really, I need to sort some things out.

                Good morning.

Sad news about Ben and his partner.

I haven't spoken to GD2 yet, but I know where she works they have a couple of staff bedrooms, so I'm hoping GD managed a bit of undisturbed sleep.

Cold again, but it's nice to see the spring bulbs poking through.

Lizzie, hope everything is sorted now, enjoy the new year reception tonight.

I took some pork steak out of the freezer yesterday, will have it root mash, veg and gravy. Might even have a Yorkshire pudding with it, I know I've got some in the freezer.

                Time for another coffee now.

                  Good morning everyone.

Our outside lights are still up Daisy. It is good to see it getting dark later.

I hope you enjoy this evening Lizzie.

Nan2, we noticed the daffodil shoots before Christmas. I don't think it will be long before the flowers appear.

Yes, I feel very sad for Ben and OH. Ben will only be in his 40's, I don't know if his OH is the same age. He is our most fun and upbeat instructor who makes every session happy - despite what he has been going through at home.

Library this morning, GS1 this afternoon.

                    Morning ladies,
                    It was frosty this morning,
We have been to B&M and Lidl, didn't want much so there and back quickly.

I noticed my DDs spring bulbs in pots at her front door were coming through,
I haven't been out to check on my pots yet .
Hope you have a east morning at the library.

                      Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, I'm so glad the problems have been aired and solutions are being put in place. That poor lady must have worked herself far too hard, but it seems to be such a valuable community service I'm glad things will be sorted out.

Nanto, I hope your GD2 can get some sleep on long shifts like that. Nobody can work those hours without rest. It's lovely to see the bulbs poking out. Most of ours are in pots as the ground can get too wet in winter and they rot. But sadly, no sign of our snowdrops this year.

Gem, a full day for you with the library and GS1 this afternoon. Does GS1 tend to do his own thing or do you do things together? Thinking about Ben - perhaps he makes the most of his classes because it's a bit of a contrast to caring for his husband. I keep thinking about him and hope they are both getting good support.

It's sunny this morning, but I don't know how long it will last. I'm going to take Eva out this morning, and might even do a bit of ironing!

WeeGranny, how are you? I wonder if you've managed a little walk without your crutch, although with the bad weather there hasn't been much incentive to venture out.

                      I hope everyone is ok.

Woke up this morning to white stuff, it has stopped snowing now, no sunshine so it will take a time to melt. It was a surprise, it wasn’t forecasted. GD1 took my car to take H to nursery before I was up, I wasn’t best pleased but she said the roads were clear. I will not go out again today as I think it will be slushy underfoot. I hope I can get to games tomorrow.

Gemini, busy day for you, when is GS’s school back? Is he happy to go? I might have missed a post with that information. Very sad about your swimming instructor.

Oma, Is it all quiet next door, I do hope so.

                          Got interrupted, be back later.

Wee Granny, I hope things are progressing but be careful and do not go out on those slushy pavements.

Nanto, I agree with Oma, go for the Yorkshire. Pud.

Best to stay in when it's dangerous underfoot,

Next door has been relatively quiet since she went on her meds ,
The local housing officer gave us a visit this morning so we could have a chat and log a complaint.
She said she couldn't divulge much because of data protection but assured us it was in hand and police mental health and anti social team all involved.
We said the social workers should be coming out regular to make sure she's taking her meds.
I asked her to go have a word with our elderly neighbours who are attached to her and she did ,
                            Listened to their concerns also.

                            Daisy
It was a bit frosty early this morning not helped by the biting wind.

GS been again stayed about 2 hours , can't get rid of him 😁

I have to see physio at 7 pm but thankfully it's only across the road in the primary care unit ,
Still would rather not go out at that time of the night but needs must.

Plant, no GS1 has yet to go back to school (term has started) I will update on that thread at some point, I haven't said much as there isn't really much to say!

Oma, take care crossing the road to the physio tonight.

Library was fairly busy. Change of plan regarding GS1, Instead of being here this afternoon and Friday morning as planned, he didn't come today and will now be here for the day on Friday.
Very icy on the roads when I set out this morning.

Bit of a chilly couple of days here with snow this morning. It didn't last long and we had lovely sunshine this afternoon.

Saw the consultant yesterday and he's pleased with my recovery and he doesn't want to see me unless there's any problems.
Today I've seen the physio and she's picked up on a couple of things, namely throwing one foot out when I walk, one leg is now a bit longer than the other and the muscles on my operated leg are very tight. She did put a raiser in my shoe to see if it'll help. She did some deep massaging/prodding and there was definitely a difference in my mobility when she'd finished. New exercises, more strenuous than the ones I've been doing and back in 10 days. I have a record chart to fill in, so no slacking! She recommended getting walking poles as my walking was better when I was swinging my arms.

Treated myself to a new bed yesterday. I have no idea how old this one is, but I think a new bed is long overdue. Great fun lying on all the different mattresses in the shop! They'll take away the old one, so saves me having to organise a pick up from the council and get the old one downstairs. Now I'll have to get new bedding as the new bed is smaller than this one.

Have a good evening ladies xx
